Yoann is like the frenchiest french that ever frenched. That accent =)
You gotta appreciate the quality of the English language of this french guy.
Jose Rene Ducharme I was just thinking the same thing. His command of the language is incredibly impressive. More so than lots of natives...
I mean yeah it was good, but come on you could spot the french accent from a single silable. Not hating, I just think you're giving him too much credit.
no carbon just good old aluminum
the only reason that he is running the brakes lever that flat is because it's 3 balls ahah
The V4.2 actually comes stock with 170mm fork, so it's not abnormally raked
Hate to be a technical nerd but it's the Meta AM V4.2, not just V4, the V4 is the old frame design
and he kept saying sram xo eagle when it's the xo1 eagle, they don't even make an xo eagle
uh, yes they do
Francois Terblanch they make x01 and xx1 eagle not x0 eagle
Cool bloke with a cool sled. Man, running a 38t up front is pretty insane. Did anyone else run with that setup in Chile?
Andreas Harboe. Bit of frame scraping going on there, good thing it's not CF 😋
Andreas Harboe Thats definitely the benefit of having 12 speeds in the cassette. When you have that granny gear for the steep climbs, a 38 tooth is great. I run a 34 tooth with a 10 speed 11/36t but there are no massive hills near me.
Count the number of times Neil says "we've got" - every sentence 😂
beauty of a bike and the 38t in the front is pretty impressive! I have a lot to work to get there. Big Fan of Yoann, he is the coolest guy in the bike biz.
i use meta v4 2016 it was really nice bike, it can handle all trails condition. Good to see my favorite racer join Commencal this year #cheers #fullgazzz
I also ride with the levers almost parallel, for those DH's where you got them already slanting enough. When they right under the bar and you have to lean back beyond the seat they are more easily accessible and efficient when it the bike shakes hard.
Hey gmbn the show is amazing love it,guys do great work have my first enduro event coming up 30 years old did a few xc races just not fun enough can't wait any tips with eating have a felt decree 3 just need a bit of advice from Michigan so not to many hills but the event is at copper horror very nice track. Thanks for all ur vids Martin is the fn man! Steps up the game for all people great work Martin and thanks again guys for the great tips
Homage to Tropic Thunder - "Never go full enduro."
David Wallace Also a Hommage to Fabien barel :)
love the video keep up with the good work
This Yoann dude is awesome. Lovely personality and accent.
Yoann is my favorite rider hands down
This is so funny, I was riding the North Shore today and I saw him.
wow Yoann explains so well why you should put flatter your brake lever, brilliant!I ride the same way, only 4 times slower.
Didn't talk about the dropper setup on the bars..
That is amazing
I like Yoann! He is so funny! Good luck racing 2017! Never go full enduro :D
Nice bike 👍
Amazing he races with a 38T front chainring! Dude has leg power. I run 36T but no where near this guys level.
The guy is riding his bike for a living, so he has time to train to have this leg power.
Kanye Houellebecq so true but other races are as well and they are sticking with 32t or 34t. It's rare to see 36t or 38t
Oh yes, nobody can deny that Yoann has very powerful legs, and he certainly know how to ride! The day he will get all the things in line, working toghether, he will kick some asses!
Like we say in french: "ça va faire des étincelles!" ("It will make some sparkles!")
liquidSpin he has a 50 in the rear
I love the bike and i'm actually going to try riding with my brakes higher
Yoann is such a boss.
Pretty cool dude, great accent as well.
Do one about the META AM V3 please!!!!
Interesting fact! I now own that exact bike, bought it from yoann
Can it climb ok? Lots of bob. I like to race up too. Thanks in advance! And congrats on the rig.
@@bobbybrandnew3277 Thanks dude! Yes it’s very nice at climbing and as a whole an amazing bike
How do I send in for the bike volt? Keep up the good work lads 👊🏽
nice video
would it work to put a thinner innertube in your wheel to help the tyre like haveing wider rims and lower pressures. like a 2.25 tube in a 2.4 tyre?
Nice bike
I was looking to buy the same frame
I wanna hear "Never Go Full Enduro" like a 100 times again xD
I wonder if there is any reason he's using regular fatbar 35 cut to 760mm, instead of the fatbar lite 35?
#askgmbn can you guys tell me why i know things like that Josh Bryceland won the last DH World Cup on 26" or that Steve Peat won the 2009 World Champs just 0.05 seconds before Greg Minnaar, but i can't remember anything from that damn accounting class?
Boom 💥
gmbn do a video on how to put a chain back on after its fell off plz
Savio_jacob03 Lol, I was running a triathlon aa couple of years ago at a Boy Scout camp, one of their chains fell off and the dumbass walked the last 5 miles of the biking section. He had no clue what to do and it caused me to miss lunch.
j'adore son accent, pas besoin de mettre de sous-titre pour comprendre son anglais :-)
不错啊
Just sayin the 170mm isn't unique to his bike all of Commencal V4.2 bikes have 170mm forks
Durrant Miller yeah. That’s what I thought.
i am struggling to find how to submit my video to progession session
bad ass
What is the brand of the water bottle? thanks :)
Actually the new v4.2's come with 170 in the front stock so...
tropic thunder reference: never go full enduro HAHAHAHAHAHHAA
v4.2
The remote lockout on the Super Deluxe is a pro-only feature at the moment, correct?
We believe so yes!
is the rear shock lever standard or hacked? I'm interested since I have the same rochshox on my reign.
Hacked
Since Commencal makes no carbon frames their prices are affordable, just got myself a Meta 3.0 with a Pike and Monarch rt3 both 160 mm for $1.8K
You are not going to find a decent bike under $2K elsewhere.
Yt industries? Canyon? There are a lot of decent bikes under 2k
J. Gonzalez CANYON is a great option, no as cheap as Commencal, YT it is not "that" affordable
+J. Gonzalez Commencal is cheaper than Canyon
It's that but mainly that they're a "direct sales to consumer" company.
What frame size is this ?
I love his bike :)
I still prefer the reign though :D
BobaFett MTB. Giant bang-for-buck is amazing! Love my Trance. Price for the Commencal (spelling? 🤔) looks good also though
Yeah the Commencal kinda looks similar to the Giants. I have a trance 3 2017 and it's awesome!!!!!! I can't find anything at all bad (apart from a longish stem)
Commencal probably has some of the best bang for buck out there for cheapest Commencal V3 2017 it is $1700 dollars and you get 160 mm of rockshox Yari air and a monarch out back. For the model used in the video it's $4600
Wow maybe I should get a Commencal sometime ;D
Vive les Francophones!! 😉
Clicked the video because I thought it was made of steel since the tubes were so skinny! Whatever, still a pretty good looking bike anyway
Does The Commencal Meta AM V4.2 not come in carbon?
Alloy only from Commencal at the moment!
the renthal stem install wrong way. Should be zero gap on one side
it's because it's an oversized bar (35mm instead of the usual 31.8).
Yup, you`re right Callum
hey guys, any tips on bike specific clothing?
stefano ... NO LYCRA
Light with plenty of ventilation, but really just wear what's comfortable.
#askgmbn - what is boost? and why would i want it on my bike?
JohnHPhotography. Front hub is 110mm vs 100mm and rear hub is 148mm vs 142 (or 135). Both allow better spoke angles for sturdier wheels and the rear cassette world is getting wider with 1x popularity.
@Roger Neilson you are right, but that bike in particular is not a good example, because American classic make boost hubs that have the same spoke angles than normal hubs, they say it is better to have the same spoke tension on each side of the wheel than to have smaller spoke angles.
Aluminum!
Super accent anglais 😉😉😉
Wait why wouldn't he run pikes? Lyriks are the model down arnt they?
Tom Sharpe Pike can only go to 160 meanwhile lyrik goes to 180. Maybe just to sit in that middle at 170 i would guess.
Tom Sharpe lyriks are a model up not down
CommenÇal !!!!!!
it's meta v4.2
#askgmbn can ye come ride in Ireland 🇮🇪 at bike park Ireland
Edan Dolan good shout man👍
One word it's silver! Nothing more need to be said
Could have been better with a BSA BB.
Why is Commencal still making frames out of aluminium?
Because building carbon frames damages the environment and the guys from Commencal are against that...
Because the people buying bikes are starting to realise that the marketing behind the whole Carbon thing is complete BS.
+Johnny641 not really. For everything except trial and bmx, carbon is better!
38t.:)
Mucho massive I agree. But he has that 10-50t cassette. It's a good mix for enduro since he can get a bigger ratio when on the small cog at the back. Eagle cassettes are only appropriate for high speed enduro runs with small climbs, which this race is!
1
oh its french me too
khrazy rhombus trop de français ici !
Victor's sports Aaaa un français sa fait plais j'en ai pas vus un seul mdr
like like like like like like like
Lyrik ? Why not a pike ?
WoD STALKER. Torque caps are the main difference. SRAM claims more strength but I also see more weight. I'm sticking with my Pike. They use the same Charger damper system so vertical feel is the same, it's a steering thing that it's supposed to improve on
Oh so... technically the lyric is supposed to be better than the pike ? To make stuff more simple, the lyrik is the equivalent of the XC RS1 ?
WoD STALKER. Technically the Lyric is stiffer than the Pike but only in terms of steering. But it is also heavier so pick your poison. The RS1 is a completely different fork than Pike and Lyric.
im suprised he's using aluminium instead of carbon
Ellis M commencal only use aluminium frames, nothing of carbon
makes me wonder what is the future of aluminium , cause I feel like carbon is getting more and more popular.
Very weird choice of material, aluminium is from the past. It makes no sense this bike has a lightweight saddle and a no-cage bottle cage to save some weight when the frame is made out of aluminium. Carbon is stiffer, stronger, lighter, better looking and more durable than aluminium. It's a no-brainer for this kind of bike.
somebody somewhere was saying that they are cheaper bikes? so maybe the company is trying to put out more affordable "pro" bikes, otherwise I dont know.
Ellis M Commencal has no plans to develop a carbon frame because of cost. Aluminum isn't a bad material for full suspension bikes since you don't need any compliance from the material.
Anyone else thinks the chains rusty?
It's dry dirt.
It's not super clean, I agree. But I love that. Other bikes they feature always look like they are brand new, with their tyres all soaked in Armor all to give them a shiny finish... I prefer the raw bikes covered in dust, Authentic!
"common"
He is right, I will never go enduro. Quite possible the most retarded competition-format within mtb at the moment.
"you never go full enduro"
#nevergofullenduro
ever.
I will sacrifice myself if commencal made carbon bikes
3rd
Oh nice French like me
2ng
I got the 2nd like
Dudes 5’ 7” riding a large... I’m 5’ 11” riding a medium
Does anyone else think this guy has a pretty broad chest for a mtn biker or is that commen?
17th
who needs carbon anyways
first
