Also I can understand your take on fan reactions to this villain and in a vacuum it makes sense but I think in the wake of other recent episodes and what they did with Donna’s “weird child” I can also understand people taking it differently.
Honestly, I remember when the doctor gave an impassioned speak about walking in a universe where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman, and seeing the birth of creation, and its end, fearlessly facing a god like entity the size of a sun, and did not care. I remember the scary episode in which the doctor eventually faced the equivalent of Satan himself, and did so fearlessly once again, same thing with the weeping angels and the silence. After all of that, I just found it both ridiculous and hilarious that the doctor was supposedly terrified of a RuPaul’s drag show finalist lol.
The Doctor has hardly ever been afraid of an entity. Any previous encounter with the Toymaker, The Master, The Rani, even Omega he wasnt afraid of. Nervous and concerned maybe. But afraid? The only instance i can remember where the doctor might have been fully afraid was in the audio stories where the 8th doctor was trapped in an alternate universe where time did not exist, so the tardis 'died' for a while.

The biggest problem i had with the villain is that they didn't earn the doctor's fear. They just showed up and the Doctor started to have PTSD. The doctor fought gods, would-be-gods, the master, davros, wheeping angels, but then this entity shows up in reflections and he's saying we can't fight her. This feels like the lazy MCU writing where the dollar story versions of the original cast shows up, one-ups the established heroes, and the veteren heroes have to gas them up just because the writers didn't want to work for it. Its a shame to because you were right, this actor did the role very well for what it was written to be, but they needed to build up Maestro more.

Hi there, professional classical musician here for decades. I’ve accompanied thousands of performers on piano and I can tell you there is playing the notes, and there is making music. 20% of performers even reach the edges of the latter, no matter how well they’ve prepared the notes. So maybe that’s what the storyline meant when people could play three blind mice without summoning the Thing? Could have been made clearer, for sure.
The real Doctor was good in nature. He has just lived for too long and is apathetic most of the time. Also he can't just die because he needs to stop many of the universe's evils. with the old timeline rules where retro-causality applies, he beat them all, but that takes a lot of future adventures to finish. Is the doctor ever done? Is time finite? Who knows, the potential of the show USED TO BE infinite but nothing is real after Timeless Children and Judy.
The most horrifying aspect of this repugnant villain is that this ostensibly human "thing" can have people in Britain unironically sent to prison for criticizing him. The fact that this gross thing can actually force everyone to not only tolerate him but holds actual legal power over them is repulsive. Society allowed this for far too long.
Yes your husband is quite correct, if you notice they show the trends villain destroying the earth. And then it took two straight men to save it by vanquishing the trains villain.
Hmm could also take it as the gay black Doctor being afraid of the They/Them spouting clownfaced thing destroying all creativity as an allegory for the LGBT audience who aren't any more fond of that part of the woke crowd than anyone else. However I think that's giving them too much credit.
I don't know if you noticed but you said that there was a sad kid at the end. That's the same kid that was in the beginning that said that the Maestro was his daddy. The fact that he's back after the Maestro was vanquished is interesting.
“Like all along the Doctor was making all these things happen.” What if all the Time Lords were like that and an entity stronger than them decided to put a stop to it, causing their destruction.
“maestro” is a villain stolen from “rick and morty” in the “pickle rick” episode after-credits scene. i dont hate the villain, i hate the producers and writers. its a subtle difference.
I don’t think the villain was bad and neither was the story the episode was trying to tell, they just don’t go well together. Why would the Maestro, a personification of music, want to steal/end all music? Isn’t that just suicide? Also why do they want to end all life? Like the maestro comes as manic and somewhat jovial but at the same time they don’t want anyone to experience music. I think they forgot what made the toymaker so dangerous was the fact that everything was a game to him and he had to win.
Should i mention how the doctor faced yhe carnival queen and wasn't afraid at all despite her easily outpowering about 99% of fictional characters ever or?
I say the biggest issue with this new era of Doctor Who is. 1. They really shouldn't have had Russell t Davis write 5 episodes in a row it really shows his entire writing spectrum. 2.
Definitely
I was perfectly content with my life not knowing about that pokemon dude 5:27
Sis YOU are a Riot to listen to omg your laughter at this blasphemous tripe is hysterical 😂😂😂
Your laughter is infectious and a blessing at the same time. 😊
Dr. Who is not only dead, but the creators of this _thing_ are pissing on his grave and the ground above too.
They have been since 2018 or so.
The tritone features heavily in Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath.
Greatly used by King Crimson as well.
16:58 LMAO I CANT your laugh is just so hilarious and it sounds like a car trying to start and I live it. Lmao!!

This is a family show, mind. Appropriate for kids
😂😂😂 oh this cannot be for kids anymore. But then again... The things people think are appropriate for kids nowadays is wild
You have the cutest voice, your narration and giggles make this perfect😂
Thank you for calling it a 'thing in the piano' Thumbs up!
I don't know if you noticed but you said that there was a sad kid at the end. That's the same kid that was in the beginning that said that the Maestro was his daddy. The fact that he's back after the Maestro was vanquished is interesting.
I know. When I saw that, I just thought it was bc the kid is a spirit that can come back.
WTF is that villain meant to be? They look like Bette Midler playing Chucky from Child's play
@@stevendunkley8284 I don't know who Bette is but definitely Chucky with a hint of Pennywise and something else
I knew he'd be back from the begining there is no way Disney would allow a child to be permanently killed even in such a bloodless way as he was.
@@Alteori Bette Midler is the actress that plays Winifred Sanders in Hocus Pocus
You losing it at 16 minutes in was hilarious.
😂
“Like all along the Doctor was making all these things happen.”
What if all the Time Lords were like that and an entity stronger than them decided to put a stop to it, causing their destruction.
This episode might have worked better if they used it to take shots at the modern manufacturered music industry
They missed a chance there
12:03 -- "Legion", lol. I see what you did there.
5:58 neuron activation 💀🤣 took me out for a minute
Should i mention how the doctor faced yhe carnival queen and wasn't afraid at all despite her easily outpowering about 99% of fictional characters ever or?
At first thats who i thpught thos was gonna be but jokes on me
I say the biggest issue with this new era of Doctor Who is.
1. They really shouldn't have had Russell t Davis write 5 episodes in a row it really shows his entire writing spectrum.
2. Someone needs to slap Russell and tell him to focus on making Good episodes so they don't get cancelled!
I honestly love doctor who I've been watching it since 2005 and it's painful to see it spiral into just whatever the heck is happening.
I love love love absolutely love how Alteori burst out laughing during the "quiet" scene xD It's been a long time since anyone made me laugh so much xD
I'm begging you, never change, pseudo-furry xD
🤣
Your laughter is sonething i needed to hear wow! That made me happy!
At this point, we stan our Random Alteori Noises.
Your reaction makes this video. XD
Especially you laughing hysterically at 16:45. XD
My mother used to play moonlight Sonata almost every night when I was growing up. Still brings melancholy to my heart. I do love it though. Great video☮️
That item is a tuning fork😎
“Because it’s not a game, babes! Honey, this is a scale model of war!” See, absolutely the same Doctor.
that guy went to the LOUD IS FUNNY school of acting
Beethoven wrote Moonlight Sonata when he was suicidally depressed
Remember when we had an episode tackling painting, and we went to see Vincent Van mfking Gogh and people cried at the end of the episode. Now we go to see The Beatles and they suck and the bad guy is some stranger-danger theatre reject.
Alteori, your laugh made my day! I love DW, but oh my word, this was hysterical!! 🤣🤣🤣
19:07 Something tells me Alteori had a BIG crush on the 10th Doctor when watching
Man, EVERYONE had a crush on the 10th doctor.... And then they brought him back to lecture him and tell him he was giving gay all along.
I'm pretty sure he awakened something inside of me. After my cousin introduced me to Doctor Who and David Tennant made his debut, I thought, "Oh... I think I'm gay. Huh."
Finally a balanced review. It’s either complain complain or praise praise from either side of the political aisle. The episode was a mixed bag and it definitely had “the message”, but it had its cool moments too.
And The Doctor used a sonic screwdriver to cancel out the tuning fork. It’s…sonic. Lol, not light.
You giggling so hard made my day. At least you had fun with it, lmao.
Oh for the love of everythin HOLY your delusional as hell if you think ANYONE besides people that don’t have brains enjoy this shit show and you have to pretend your on some dumb highhorse that people that hate this garbage are some how in the wrong? Buzz off they made that episode were they bashed david to hell and back for being an “white cis men” and you expect people to give an ass about this garbage?
There’s a great scene in the movie _Equilibrium_ where the protagonist plays Beethoven, hearing music for the first time. 🎼
Hi Alteori I’ve been a fan for 6-7 years now I love watching your videos I still come back to the how to train your dragon and Indominus Rex theories those were the days when life wasn’t so hard if you read this I love your content!
Ahhhh… one of your best. It’s times like in this video where you completely lose your shit in contagious laughter that completely brightens the mood of the trash subject you are handling. BRAVA! 👏🏻
we get alteori moaning audio before gta 6
💀
10:51 I don’t know, the dumb ideological elements of his design and the writers here make it hard to take any of it seriously
Ok, that bout of cackling made me wish I could upvote this more than once.
_Diabolus in Musica,_ aka the Devils chord was used by Black Sabbath in their s/t song on their s/t album.
Damn, the laugh from Alteori is so sweet and contagious. :D
the villain seemed really cool actually and reminded me a lot of Mad Mod from teen titans
Maestro does actually kind of look like a character from One Piece.
Good to see Bette Midler is still getting work...
My parents used to have a grand piano that I’d play on growing up - eventually they got rid of it as us kids moved out and no one played on it anymore -but I miss it a lot.
Jinx Monsoon clearly had a blast. I like the villain character design too. Pretty cool the way they teleport through instruments. It's also hilarious.
Gary from Nerdrotic has summed up the new 'Dr' perfectly as 'Nurse what'.
Moonlight Sonata wasnt my first Beethoven piece I learned (that was either Ode to Joy or Für Elise) but it's definitely my favorite after first hearing it in a video game by Sierra, waaaaayyyyyy back in the day. The story behind its composition is really cool as well, imo.
This Thing is totally the Meme of “We Have Penniwise at Home.” 🤡😂🤡
5:58 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
When I accidentally have Bluetooth on my phone that connects to the family speaker…
Oh kistune if the forest ,what is your wisdom?

Congratulations you just discovered the key to Mysticism
This is what happens when you don't gatekeep fandom.
Russell came in and completely change Doctor Who.
Ironically he's now gatekeeping the show from the actually fans. Literally telling them to piss off
Yes, that's how it works. The anti-fans come in when you don't gatekeep, and then THEY gate-keep you out of your own beloved hobby.
@@verindictus3639 sounds shitty but entirely what happened
Ppl be dying....she's laughing her ass off...gurl u hysterical 🤪😂🤣
This villain character and their whole performance is the definition of 'trying too hard'.
They'd fit right in with Jared Leto's Joker.
I didn't think there was anything that could make me hate music. This episode just might achieve that.
I really miss Dr Who. When does it come back ?
"the devil's chord feels like a fever dream" is a sentiment shared by all regardless of enjoyment
20:08 you got a point there. Once in my youth I thought I heard a *_Black Metal_* band play in the distance. It turned out to be a VW beetle idling.
But it sounded really great.
My god, your laugh is contagious and you losing it throughout this review is just hilarious!
No it was desperate
"Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.14, Op.27-2 "Moonlight" mov. 1" Have it as a permanent open tab in my browser as it relaxes me, when i get over stimulated / aggravated. 🥰
Maestro: "I'm _them_ ."
Nah, dude, you're R E T A R D E D. Period.
Hearing you lose it and go on a giggle fest is one of the best things ever LOL. Imagining your little vixen rolling around dying of laughter is too adorable lol. Also the Miestro was awesomely horrendous.
That is creepy that u said that
