Esther is also wanted. You can see on her saloon she has a wanted paper on the bottom on it so she probably moved on to the inkwell to be loved and actually have friends. Esther was probably a sheriff indeed, but she probably cause mayhem and people thought she stole the money to herself, so they targeted her leaving her clueless. I also think that the cups shouldn't be so high in the good category. Cuphead gambled their souls away so in order to save themselves, they go to attack the other debtors and take their soul contracts. While they may have chosen the "good" option at the end, they still assaulted the majority of the residents of inkwell in order to collect their souls for the devil. In my opinion, because the game gives you a choice whether or not to give the contracts, that is cuphead making a split second decision and not the plan all along.

I feel like glumstone should actually be one of the nicest bosses on this list. When you fight him, he doesn't really want to fight you back. The gnomes really take control over him while he lets geese pass. Glumstone soon realizes the gang wants to fight him to get the gnome berries. Glumstone would probably be nice and give them the berries, not wanting to get in a fight, but the gnomes angrily disagree and start a fight. Glumstone tries to defend himself with a bear but it dosent work. Glumstone gets so mad that he rips his beard off to get rid of the gnomes and tries to start a puppet show to entertain the cups. Glumstone realizes that some of the gnomes still try to fight the cups, so he throws the ball to try to get rid of the gnomes, mistakenly attacking the cups. The gang still thinks he is a threat, so they attack him. Glumstone is scared and doesn't know what to do, so he has no choice but to eat the cups. The cups fight inside of Glumstone's stomach, leaving him confused when he spits them out, weak. All of the challengers are bruised, and Glumstone makes a truce with them, becoming their friend and giving them the berries even if he doesn't have much. When Glumstone and the gnomes figure out Saltbaker is trying to kill the cups, they are furious, so when he goes to prison they make him grow more berries for them. At the end of the day, Everyone in every inkwell world became friends, but the devil and his mighty dice themselves.
my opinion is that Rumor and BonBon could've been using their forces to distract the cups so they don't have to fight because they might feel bad. Hell, Rumor 's force barely does anything and she seemd to care more about making sure no one is hurt and that the honey is okay than her soul, she only attacks when the bee police man is down, showing that she only gets mad if you hurt the hive Same can go for BonBon, she only gets angry when you hurt her little friends, but she's more violent in a way than Rumor is and Glumstone seems a lot nicer, and the Moonshine Mob aren't that bad either they're criminals yes but outside of that, they're not nearly as bad, probably morally grey or morally dark grey. but if we're going by the logic used with BonBon, Rumor and Mob, then it should be mentioned that Cala Maria and Glumstone also don't care for their workers / friends since Cala Maria is forcefully using them as weapons and you can kill the gnomes in phase 2 Glumstone provides shelter and care for the gnomes and outside of that hasn't seemingly done much wrong and Esther honestly just seems sadistic and with her wanted poster, she could just be a poser rather than a real sheriff Cala Maria, too, is much worse as stated before, Cala mistreats her fish friends, anf then is rightfully electrocuted . she's also canonically eaten sailors and pirates. unlike the others like the gnomes, bees, and desserts, the sea creatures were brought out by force and she's also meant to be a siren
Also the chef should have been ranked lower since he kills people in his fight and the logic that he turns good at the end is thrown out the window when you realize every boss turns good at the end
another thing about the bootleggers that makes them evil is they literally troll the player with a fake knockout. Y'know, the scary thing about Mortimer Freeze, is his second phase, Snowlem looks ALOT like the Buckethead people in the background. Also remember, it's a Cult. There's Tero cards, and candles. So, what if the cult did a ritual on a Buckethead and mutated them, into Snowlem 🤨
@@butternut3726 The Wiki page also suggests that instead of hinting to the cult, he's giving the player a reading. The 3 of swords is actually foreshadowing that Saltbaker is deceiving the player. Mortimer's cult of snow people were probably all made *by* him, as it's shown he can create living Ice
None of the DLC Bosses are evil cause lore wise you're just breaking into their area trying to steal their ingredients.... arguable only the Cult and the Bug are the only evil ones

Mortimer’s Cult revolves around buckets, most of the cult members were wearing buckets as hats, the snow golem has a bucket as a hat, there are literally banners with buckets on them in the arena, and in the final phase he shoots buckets at you.
Winchester is a wanted criminal as you can see on the side of the saloon in the first phase and Glumstone should be in the good section because he is a gentle giant who is just kinda there and he didn't start fighting until the cups showed up trying to defeat him... Yeah
Also the fact once miss chalice knew someone else had to sacrificed to bring her back she was against using the tart but is still optimistic they can find another way.
The howling aces should probably be a little better ranked because normally on the final phase she is a wild and reckless pilot usually but in the secret phase there are kids aboard the plane and she doesn't make the plane waver one bit.
My interpretation of Werner was that he avenged his folk by turning their killer, the cat, into a weapon for himself. In that case, he wouldn't be that evil.
did you forget that whinchester is also a wanted criminal as indicated by the side of her salon and the fact that she sucks up loads of money and then fires safes at you.
A fan theory for Saltbaker (mostly stemming from RecD's song) is that he wanted some sort of revenge as part of his motive for baking the wondertart. In the song, it was said to be for being overworked. While it wouldn't excuse his methods, it would make sense, especially considering his redemption at the end.
Notice how the only debtor (non-final or dlc boss) they put in the thumbnail is Cala Maria. 1upBinge knows exactly what they're doing... Also, missed opportunity to make the second wall in the tutorial the most evil as a joke Edit: Why is this my most popular comment ever
I would give the Moonshine Mob a bit of credit because after the last boss fight, the Snail leader is seen making peace with a cop. I would also cut BonBon, Hilda, Werner Werman, Rumor Honeybottoms and the rest of the DLC bosses some slack because after defeating the Devil and Salt Baker, they all make peace with the cups.
*0:59* Ahh yes, a character who deceives Mugman into what can only be described as temporarily killing himself just so *she* can take his place into the living realm.
I majorly thank you for putting Canteen Hughes in this video, I also respect that Grim placement, Grim is best boy. But I'd also put Goopy a bit lower considering he is so f***ing narcissistic. Respect that Hilda placement, love my psycho Zeppelin girl.
Only some minor nitpicks, and they rly don’t matter, but I believe Djimmi’s name is just pronounced like “Jimmy”, same as in the word Djinn or Djinni. Brinybeard’s name is pronounced more like “bry-nee” than “brinny”, as in brine (salt water)
Warning: this ain't no hate spread, just my opinion! I don't really like the idea of putting the aces so low, sure they do fight the cupbros and chalice in a rather though way, but they seem to care about eachother, for example the pups (who seem to be really excited to fight) and the bulldog usually cooperate, for we also see them together in the ending, and the saluki also "rescues" the pups in the secret phase. Another thing we can notice at the beginning of the fight is that the saluki actually does a salute to the bros and chalice, which is a sign of respect for the military. That's all folks!
To be honest, chef saltbaker should be higher on this list, because before the boss battle, he says: ,,A shame I never told you about the most important, secret ingredient". That means, he knew from beggining about sacrifising a living soul to create a Wondertart. Also Ms. Chalice after fight with chef Saltbaker is telling, that he has her and the cups hoodwinked the whole time, so he planned to kill the cups already at the start od DLC.
I think weepy should be separated from the rest of the pack, he doesn’t want to hurt you unless you hurt HIM. Also, I think dr kahl and his robot should be in the evil section Pachi-pachi, king card and the LIGHT will be in the middle of the morality list
About Weepy, he doesn't even attack you directly, it's his tears from him crying that do damage so it could be the case that he doesn't even want to fight at all
i'm guessing the snow cult worships a god called the "Cold Sun", a god that was awakened from Mortimer Freeze's immense power. the Cold Sun ranks just below Mortimer Freeze due to killing the snow golem in His awakening... Ultimately He was melted after the knockout, sealing Him back into whatever dimension He was in previously.

I think the howling aces should be higher up maybe in the good tier because they’re an Air Force and most likely protect inkwell isle 4, plus also I believe he didn’t kill him and could be his fallen friends helping him as he’s a soldier
Oh I understand now, I believe that his friends may have died during military stuff and Werner was the only one to survive (who killed them idk), and they’re coming back to help him when his soul’s on the line
Saltbaker should be in gold place for evil, did you see the way he slaughtered those limes, crushed those sugar cubes, cut the shapes into that dough and squeezed that basket, it was all with a malicious grin while the ingredients had a bunch of terrified expressions on their faces, sure he reformed himself later but did he not have the cups go beat the crud out of a bunch of people, and he was perfectly willing to steal and cook a persons soul just because of his wondertart.

I feel like the chef should’ve been on the evil spectrum. Just because someone’s forgiven, doesn’t mean that there actions have been erased. This list I feel should’ve looked strictly at what they’ve done, rather than do that and say “ oh the ending says they’ve changed, eeehhh it’s alright.” Yes he changed, but he still is very evil, not only did he kill who knows how many sentient ingredients in his fight, but he was also willing to CONSUME A SOUL!!! He literally stated that a soul was an ingredient in the wonder-tart meaning he would EAT IT! Everything else was fine but I feel as if he should be in the bottom of the evil tier at LEAST.
He is in evil, but you (and the video) also missed one thing.. he tried to take control over the Astral Plane with the Wondertart. He most definitely should've been second place or above the Devil for that. I think anyone who tries to literally conquer the Afterlife should be ranked very high, if not on top depending on what others did. In this case it's something that not even the Devil tried to do, and just in general Saltbaker isn't a massive crybaby like the Devil. This video just downplayed Psychopath who tried to become a God and devour a person's Soul for it.
Not trying to be a nerd, but Ester Winchester has a wanted poster in the bottom right during the first phase for a couple seconds, she even has a reward for her.
You know how Briney beard's sentient ship looks nervous before transforming in the last phase? What if the ship gambled Briney's soul away without the pirate's knowledge, and the ship is desperate to keep this fact a secret from his boss?
I don’t think it’s nervous, I thought it was furious at the captain for being unable to defeat the cups so it tries to restrain itself until it snaps and tries to deal with the cups itself
1upbinge: Werner has the first body count Calliemaria with one of her attacks spitting out at least 3 sailor ghost: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that
I think the angel and demon are supposed to be a cut phase for the devil, since his skeleton is in the back, it'd transition from phase 1 to his giant phase
There is material outside of the game that I consider unquestionably canon, that being the cuphead Comic strips. There, we can see that most of the bosses from the base game are actually Cuphead's friends, Grim Matchstick even hangs out with them. While characters like Cala Maria, Rumor Honneybottoms or Baroness are often featured in an "Antagonist-ish" role. For example, Cala Maria uses her siren song to hypnotise the whole town into buying her shopping list and cleaning her house, but gets stopped by Mugman. In a different strip she actually works with King Dice as entertainment in the casino, but singlehandedly sabotages the whole thing when refused pay. And Baroness is just shown as a crappy person. Not a villain, but she does stage a whole crime scene and points fingers to her underlings just because she felt like she wasn't getting enough attention. (One of the funniest comics of the book btw) Root pack is a gang of punks. They just seem to be bullies, When the cups go to the movies with Elder Kettle, Root pack sit in the front seats and seem to just be rude to everyone. When cuphead stands up for himself, they toss him into the projector, causing him to enter the world of the movie and change the plot so that the characters never go into any danger and all ends happily. Sally stageplay, you also kind of misinterpreted... That guy is not her husband, he just plays her husband in the stageplay. She's not "Mourning him", it's just part of the plot. Actually, Sally is about the same as Baroness. She's ungrateful, rude, egotistical and basically only cares about being an adored star of the stage. In the comics she fires her whole crew because they're ruining "Her" show and tries to play the whole thing herself, the stage collapses on her head because she doesn't know anything about backstage work, and in a twist of irony, actually gets awarded a trophy for the best comedic performance Goopy does appear as a background character along with Ribby and Croaks... But doesn't have a strip dedicated to him. Glumstone the Giant got a strip. And he's a DLC character. It just seems funny to me that Goopy is so uninteresting that even the devs forget about him. And if you're wondering about Glumstone? Well, he's a fairytale giant, that's all. He's rude and mean, mostly takes what he wants without asking, but most of the time just wants to be left alone. The Phantom Express is an interesting case, because they're by all accounts neutral. In the comic where Elder Kettle realizes he needs glasses, he takes the Express to the land of the dead because he misreads the lables. It's made obvious that this is the train that takes people to the afterlife and that's it. Heck, by the end of the comic, Kettle gets glasses and sees he's in Horrorland, gets scared to death, but the conductor of the train kicks his soul back into his body saying "You can't die here! You didn't have a ticket!" And drags him back to the living world.
Sheriff Esther Winchester should either be at the bottom of the good tier or the top of the gray area due to her implied active criminal activity. She may be a sheriff who runs a restaurant, but according to the 'wanted' poster seen at the beginning of her boss fight, the fact that the cactus girl by the campfire in the world map calls her a "bandit", and the fact that she's seen actively stealing money by sucking it into her vacuum in the second phase of her fight, she seems to be a crooked cop.
I think Cuphead and Mugman should have had their own spots, instead of being one. Mugman would probably be better than Cuphead, sense Cuphead was gullible and was the one that accidentally sold their souls to the devil
Seeing that Saltbaker actively kills beings dead like the sugar and the dough I think he should be lower, the only one who legit murders npc’s in the battle.
True, the limes even try to run away and he just cuts them in half. I think that King Dice and the King's Court should be in the grey area. They all have soul contracts with the devil, or at least Dice does, so they are forced to work for the devil. Either they have to work for him because he forces them to or they work for him to pay off their contract debts.
You people exaggerate, i dont think the ingredients are literally alive, i mean, if they were alive, why would he need a soul for the recipe then?!?!?!? And do you mean to say that cup mug and chal just kidnapped people then? Bruhbruh And like, they get sliced and stuff but winchester's body gets canned into sausages that clearly turn into angels when dead and shes STILL alive, same with how you literally beat up saltbakers SOUL
The only character's ranking I'd change is Chef Saltbaker's! He has a redemption ark in The Epilouge to The Delicious Last Course! I'd rank him in The Gray Area!
Personally I think he should stay in the bad section. He did murder a living sugar cube and a couple of living limes, while also tryin to murder the cups and chalice. I do like how he reformed at the end though and can see why you think he should be in the gray, but feel that his redemption doesn't change his actions.

He Still Fights you In The Stomach
@@SunshineProYT Glumstone and the stomach are 2 different characters
Just had PTSD from foxy is a good guy theory
@@SunshineProYT I'm pretty glumstone and his stomach tumor thingy are different individuals
Also read the wiki, I don't think any of that is true
my opinion is that Rumor and BonBon could've been using their forces to distract the cups so they don't have to fight because they might feel bad. Hell, Rumor 's force barely does anything and she seemd to care more about making sure no one is hurt and that the honey is okay than her soul, she only attacks when the bee police man is down, showing that she only gets mad if you hurt the hive
Same can go for BonBon, she only gets angry when you hurt her little friends, but she's more violent in a way than Rumor is
and Glumstone seems a lot nicer, and the Moonshine Mob aren't that bad either
they're criminals yes but outside of that, they're not nearly as bad, probably morally grey or morally dark grey. but if we're going by the logic used with BonBon, Rumor and Mob, then it should be mentioned that Cala Maria and Glumstone also don't care for their workers / friends since Cala Maria is forcefully using them as weapons and you can kill the gnomes in phase 2
Glumstone provides shelter and care for the gnomes and outside of that hasn't seemingly done much wrong
and Esther honestly just seems sadistic and with her wanted poster, she could just be a poser rather than a real sheriff
Cala Maria, too, is much worse as stated before, Cala mistreats her fish friends, anf then is rightfully electrocuted . she's also canonically eaten sailors and pirates. unlike the others like the gnomes, bees, and desserts, the sea creatures were brought out by force and she's also meant to be a siren
Yea, I don’t get Cala Maria’s placement
she also literally has murdered an octopus and wears it as her hair
Also the chef should have been ranked lower since he kills people in his fight and the logic that he turns good at the end is thrown out the window when you realize every boss turns good at the end
another thing about the bootleggers that makes them evil is they literally troll the player with a fake knockout. A lot of people died within a second or two of thinking they won (myself included) after going in blind, and snail is like "haha trolled you. It's not over till it's over." I was like "damn it... I deserved that," but there are some funny reaction videos out there and I'm sure a lot of livestreaming players would've given them the gold for that lol

Mortimer’s Cult revolves around buckets, most of the cult members were wearing buckets as hats, the snow golem has a bucket as a hat, there are literally banners with buckets on them in the arena, and in the final phase he shoots buckets at you.
Soldier from TF2 would love to join that cult.

Devil: Greed Pride and Wrath
Glumstone: Gluttony
King Dice: Sloth
Cala: Lust
And from the subtitles: Ms Chalice is envious
To be honest, chef saltbaker should be higher on this list, because before the boss battle, he says: ,,A shame I never told you about the most important, secret ingredient". That means, he knew from beggining about sacrifising a living soul to create a Wondertart. Also Ms. Chalice after fight with chef Saltbaker is telling, that he has her and the cups hoodwinked the whole time, so he planned to kill the cups already at the start od DLC.
I think weepy should be separated from the rest of the pack, he doesn’t want to hurt you unless you hurt HIM.
Also, I think dr kahl and his robot should be in the evil section
Pachi-pachi, king card and the LIGHT will be in the middle of the morality list
About Weepy, he doesn't even attack you directly, it's his tears from him crying that do damage so it could be the case that he doesn't even want to fight at all

Saltbaker is actually the most evil boss on his fight because he literally kills ingreditents (except the strawberries)
I like how they photoshopped devil horns onto the devil in the thumbnail despite the fact that he already has horns
The thing is, most of the bosses never truly wanted to hurt anyone. They just didn't want to have their souls given to the devil.
I love how they portray the bosses in the graphic novels and comics published by Dark Horse, they're more fleshed out in those books. Especially the one strip where Grim Matchstick obliviously burns down Cuphead's house after some jokes during a snowstorm
I think the howling aces should be higher up maybe in the good tier because they’re an Air Force and most likely protect inkwell isle 4, plus also I believe he didn’t kill him and could be his fallen friends helping him as he’s a soldier

This is gonna sound so wrong, but I personally enjoyed the King's leap, even while i was losing. That is the 1st time i felt happiness while playing this game (jk, and btw We should all forgive Grim and spit on Dr. Kahl) :)
But... He is in evil....
Uhh, he IS the bottom of the evil tier
He would still take the bronze medal of evil
Well, if you watched the whole video, then he is actually the least of the evil Cuphead characters. But I agree with your argument.
1upbinge: Werner has the first body count
Calliemaria with one of her attacks spitting out at least 3 sailor ghost: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that
Now what about the Casino Cups version of these characters? How would you rank everyone from good to evil?
12:35 You: Glumstone is nice
Also Glumstone: *literally throws away his bear*
I love how the devil got THREE sinner medals.
I think the angel and demon are supposed to be a cut phase for the devil, since his skeleton is in the back, it'd transition from phase 1 to his giant phase
That's very surprising that the Devil gets 3 metals.
(One of the funniest comics of the book btw)
Root pack is a gang of punks.
In the comics she fires her whole crew because they're ruining "Her" show and tries to play the whole thing herself, the stage collapses on her head because she doesn't know anything about backstage work, and in a twist of irony, actually gets awarded a trophy for the best comedic performance
Goopy does appear as a background character along with Ribby and Croaks...
Ratchet & Clank Characters: Good to Evil.
So if you're gullible you're evil?
@@daviddow3705 no, but he was greedy

And like, they get sliced and stuff but winchester's body gets canned into sausages that clearly turn into angels when dead and shes STILL alive, same with how you literally beat up saltbakers SOUL

Anyone notice delicious last course and DLC might stand for delicious last course
Goopy Le Grande is a very nice guy. He tips his hat to you and does a funny little dance.
12:33
forgetting about him straight up using animals as toys and murder weapons and yeeting them
Uh, the implication in Clip Joint Calamity is that Ribby and Croaks eat their customers.
The only character's ranking I'd change is Chef Saltbaker's! He has a redemption ark in The Epilouge to The Delicious Last Course! I'd rank him in The Gray Area!
8:53 yeah “internet darling” we all know what you mean
I would but Baker in gray. He redeemed himself, and at the end, it looks like he made friends with the cups, and i think he got forgiven too.
Personally I think he should stay in the bad section. He did murder a living sugar cube and a couple of living limes, while also tryin to murder the cups and chalice. I do like how he reformed at the end though and can see why you think he should be in the gray, but feel that his redemption doesn't change his actions.
@@medusathedecepticon yea but i would put him in gray even tho hes mostly bad, but he got better at being good, i can see why you think hes bad.
He didn't reform! He got sentenced to community service, and probably hated it.

I love how the dragon just wants to play with the cups but he does not know that they need his soul
The other dragons are probably fireproof, so he assumed the cups were too.
3:22 And that's why doggone dogfight is my new favourite boss in cuphead
Fun fact: Dr Khal treats and considers his robot like his son
Where did u find these facts? These are neat little tidbits!
True, and I like that fact.
Yes, because literally crushing a fish until it vomits projectiles is good
Phantom Express looks pretty mid to me tbh. Transporting the dead is kinda just their job
Actually, the robot is the one who owes his soul, meaning that Kahl is fighting to help his creation.
