Crispy Onion Bhajis with Cucumber Raita | Indian food

  • Forget onion rings. If you want something really crispy and tasty, try the onion bhajis, which go perfectly with cucumber raita. There is only one rule - eat them while they are still warm!

    Ingredients:
    For bhajis:
    2 large white onions
    1 large red onion
    Parsley
    1 green hot pepper
    1 tsp turmeric
    1 tsp cumin
    1 tsp cayenne pepper
    1 tsp salt
    125 g flour
    ½ tsp baking powder
    70 ml water
    Oil for deep frying
    For raita:
    2 tbsp lemon juice
    1 cup of strained yogurt
    1 cucumber
    Mint
    Parsley
    Salt
    Instructions:
    Grate the cucumber and squeeze the water out of it. Add to the cucumber in a bowl a few leaves of chopped mint and parsley, the strained yogurt, lemon juice and salt. Mix well and leave in the refrigerator. For the onion bhajis, cut the onions into half rings. Put them in a bowl and separate the rings from each other. Add the chopped green hot pepper and parsley to the onions, as well as the cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper, flour, baking powder and water. Knead well to get a sticky mixture. Form a ball in the palm of your hand and drop it into well-heated oil for deep frying. When one side of the onion bhajis dark golden, turn them into the fat. As soon as they are ready, put them in paper and salt.

    Печени дали ще се получат добре или ще станат много сухи?

      Зависи какво търсите като текстура. За да станат хрупкави трябва да се пекат на вентилатор, но това ще ги изсуши повече.
