Awesome video with good tips on maintaining coverage! I think keeping the visual feed is the most important in longrange FPV. I mainly do urbex with my drone, but I need to try mountain surfing some day.
Thabks for sharing the dvr. I learn a lot by watiching the battery voltage during your flights. I cant believe at one point on your second flight you were down to 3.06v per cell, but when you landed it was back up to 3.31v. You know your limits really well, so for a beginner to long range this helps me learn limits without losing drones.

Il a toujours été plein de noise, les VTX à puissance ridicule comme celui ci n’ont pas de sens pour notre usage et la mort de celui ci en est la preuve. Je me suis rabattu sur un Rush Tank Solo (1.6W) comme sur mon second build, ça fonctionne au top.
Sick as always! Surprised you're flying Li-Ion on some of these considering how much you like to send it. I've never used Li-Ion only Lipo for long range because I don't want 10-15 min flights, I wanna go hurling it down the mountain. How much difference do you feel with Li-Ion vs Lipo?
@@batcavefpv5007 I kinda didn't have the choice considering how far theses specific lines were (mostly ~3km out). Big Lipos could've probably done it but Liion brings a solid and appreciated margin (and my biggest Lipos were "only" 3300mAh). There's also a few Lipo packs in this video and there is a massive difference, the punch is on another level and 100% more suited for freeride, that's what I fly all the time when the spot allows it
@platyfpv I fly 4000mah 6s packs for long range, and have gone 5km out with plenty of time to spare. I should get a couple lion packs to at least give a try

Have you ever just done a range test with this? maybe even 6s2p 21700?? Im curious what you max range is because I don't do the crazy stuff you do (well, I do, but not until I actually get there, which is sometimes over 8KM away). I want to get into this crazy mountain surfing that you do. Do you think that my 8 inch can handle like this? drone weight is around 750 grams. I have not yet built the 8 inch because I just got rid of my chimera 7 pro 7.5 inch. Also I found the most insane motors I have ever laid my eyes on for 8 inch. They produce 3500 grams of thrust at 1000 watts compared to the Tmotor F90's 2100 at 1050 watts. At 185 watts, 7.8 amps, they produce over 1000 grams of thrust compared to the F90's 800. They are called the QX-motor 2812 1150kv.
@@Vogxel I never did actually, my setup is particularly heavy and stiff, optimized for flight performances much more than for pure range since it's not what I'm looking for. Anything 5+km away is to me something I'd rather fly with an inav wing for safety purposes. if anything goes wrong on a quad you're down, with a wing you can at least glide, and you get like 10 times the range with much smaller batteries, it just doesn't make sense to stick to the quadcopter format at some point.

Yeah Liion packs have a solid sag giving you a much bigger margin that what it seems like. This pack was most likely particularly worn out aswell lol

Crossfire latency on the slowest mode is about 21ms I believe, so yeah it is goes left pretty instantaneously thankfully
