Not to even mention that the replacement process is a hell compared to DJI. My last replacement took 45 days, while with DJI care, I got my replacement in 2 days. With DJI I never had software issues, no freezes, they just work. Thanks for coming to my TED speech. 🙋♂

I own 20 GoPros but mostly old ones. I own all of them, including all of the variations from the HD HERO, to the HERO4 Session. I also then have several HERO5 Sessions (my favourite but very much discontinued), a HERO6 Black, and a MAX. My verdict was that the newer you go, the more reliability problems they have. The GoPros I have are well over 10 years old now and all still work like new. Then when I got the HERO6, I noticed that it wasn't super reliable. It would overheat randomly and it would freeze up for no reason. And that was enough to throw me off GoPro. I loved them because they would survive anything. There was a GoPro HERO3 that survived being underneath a rocket launch failure and bathed in flames. It only died when they put the fire out with water, as the waterproof case had been melted away. But the video survived and is on GoPro's UA-cam channel. Their 2013 cameras could survive THAT, but their new cameras can't survive a regular drone crash? Only bought the MAX as I decided to give them another chance. And while I like it and I use it all the time, the GoPro Player app is desperate for an update. So I'm not super loyal to them anymore. They seem to have forgotten why we loved them.
The old GoPros were absolute TANKS. I remember seeing the UA-cam videos of them filming through lava or other insane circumstances. I just got the Hero 4K 2024 plainly for three reasons: 1) It's simple, less shit to go break or go wrong, and 2) it's small, light and can fit under a bike helmet visor, and 3) budget. I did consider the Hero 12 or 11 but for the same reasons everyone's been rambling on I just saved money and went for the Hero 4K. Got it at an insane deal, USD138 sealed in box. So... can't really complain. But the Quik app that the Hero uses to stabilize the footage is garbage - I'd just import direct from the SD card and deal with the slightly shaky footage, over having my video cropped in way too much and unnatural stabilization. If I had infinite cash it'd be the Osmo Action 5 for me. Demo'ed that and was blown away. But it is 330 USD.
I have never once been satisfied with a GoPro I’ve owned. I have the osmo action 4 though and use it in videos all the time. Great stand in for lightweight action
There is actually a word for this. _Enshittification._ It is often thought of as applying mostly to online services, but it applies to companies manufacturing a physical product as well. At the start there is an emphasis on quality and innovation while growing the brand. Later on shareholders gain control and demand maximum profits at all costs, and it's at this point that the company begins its slide downhill, as quality and customer service is thrown under the bus to maximize profit for the ravening shareholders.
I watched this video, the tiny whoop one, and the neo one back it back and they are all some of the best UA-cam videos I’ve seen in a while. Seriously keep up the amazing videos and I’ll be waiting for the next long form. 🎉
I adore my Action 5, but I can’t emphasize enough how much I love (and still use) my DJI Action 2. I genuinely hope DJI releases a newer version of it.
As an FPV pilot my GoPro Plus subscription has payed for itself numerous times. I don't mess around with warranty because drone crashes aren't covered and I prefer to call them and simply say "I broke another one, we'll need to do the replacement." Twice they've given me my replacement for free. IMO, it's a little silly to run the newest GoPro on an FPV drone especially if you fly freestyle. Buy a NEW Black edition from GoPro but go back a couple series to save money. GoPro plus will still let me replace my Hero Session 5. Unlimited cloud storage comes in handy too with these files getting bigger and bigger.
I'm using action cameras for 14 years. Used to be all GoPro but long switch to DJI. While also not perfect they are still way more reliable, GoPros are just too unreliable and the amount of footage I didn't get because a GoPro played up is criminal.
I brought the GoPro 11 when it was first released. Put the GoPro 11 in a padded camera bag, in the rear box of my motorcycle and headed to the cost 2hrs away from home to spend the day filming with it. Got to the coast, parked up the bike, took my camera bag out the rear box and headed to the beach, opened the camera bag and shit me! the rear screen on the GoPro was shattered (just like yours in the vid). Hadn't even turned the camera on yet and the rear screen was toast. Anyway to cut a long story short, contacted GoPro as I was pissed and was told to send the camera to them for review. A few weeks later get told by GoPro "the camera was misused, but as a gesture of good will they will replace it for me." - (*Misused? it hadn't even been turned on) I get the replacement in the post and it is clearly a refurbished unit. Never again!
No one really hates GoPro. They just say they do for likes & validation because they think that’s what people want to hear. When the 13 came out, all the comments were full of ‘RIP GoPro’. But, over the months, you see the sentiment change as they realise they shouldn’t have mindlessly followed the crowd
I really hate gopro. I’m a professional and used almost 12 gopro’s in het last years of all kind of generations. The 1 thing that stands out is: reliability. I have to film most of the time more than 1 hour and 2 of 3 crashed before the hour. Now I have 5 Osmo Actions 5 and they all keep working for almost 4 hours on 1 accu. So the image is comparible with the gopro but the reliability is so much higher. It’s not about ‘mindlessly following the crowd’.
@ - I think you misunderstood. If you’ve had personal experience and it didn’t work out for you. Then, you’re obviously going to look elsewhere. I’m talking about the people that were in the comments saying ‘RIP GoPro’ without even ever using one. They were coming across like professional haters. It was like they thought they could ‘hang with the cool kids’ if they parroted what the cool kids said. But, when all the reviews were done, people started saying that the GoPro video quality was better than the DJI & Insta360 and all of a sudden, those people were quiet. See for yourself. Watch a OA5 review video and read the comments and then watch a ‘3 months later’ comparison video. All I’m saying is, if you’ve had personal experience and don’t like GoPro, fair enough. But don’t not like them just so you can say GoPro is dead in a sad hope to get likes & validation
Well. Based on reviews and experiences from others, you can quite learn a lot. If someone bought a phone of a certain brand and it bursts out in flames, then 300 out of the 1000 experiences the same thing, would you buy that phone too? @PhannyObsession
GoPro messed it up. No Innovations since a decade. Same issues as always with overheating, loosing footage, locking up, not charging etc.and cumbersome controls-.The owner milked it as well and pulled millions out of it for himself
Very interesting Video thank You! Strap mount for the win 🙏 You buy/print a TPU mount that does cover everything of the GoPro and has some extra wall structures.......then You can mount it with a Battery strap to any FPV drone. Foam wedge or Print for the angle. I'm on my 2end GoPro in 6y of FPV 😅
I bought my Yi 4k years ago because I didn't want to spring for a gopro. First one had an issue after a few months (not waterproof and think I got water into it). They warrantied it no questions asked. I've now use it for years without issue, it's gotten flung out of a car at 70mph kicking off the asphalt and run over and didn't even stop recording, didn't crack the lens or rear screen. (Had an aluminum case on it). Its really showing its age now, no stabilization, audio is pretty bad, video quality is really suffering but it works. I'm looking at something dji because I can't trust a gopro to just work these days. Will probably go used as I hate the fact they require you to use an app to set it up and it won't work until you do and I refuse to do that, but a used one is already unlocked and I don't have to bother with an app if I don't want it.
after owning a few gopros, i was back in the market for an action camera, and i was very suprised to see how bad the current gopros are compared to the competition, ended up getting the DJI Action 5 Pro, its awesome
Action 4 user here after using several GoPros in the past. No comparison at all and the biggest plus of the Action is battery life in the cold is 100% better. My gophero 7 always quit in anything below freezing the action works in -15c for an hour or more
I still use 3 Hero 11s for my FPVs, just because 12 & 13 didn't feels like an upgrade for me. When the Action 4 came out, i really though about switch to DJI, but that camera still lack something about image quality and dynamic range balance compare to my Gopros, so i forgot about it. Until one of my FPV friends bought a brand new Action 5 Pro, holyshit that camera is so insane, it's light, power on instantly, battery last forever and feels like it'll never overheating. I love the image quality and the dynamic range, seems like DJI has fixed the DR balance problem on Action 4. Maybe after switch to Action 5, the only thing i miss about Gopro is 8:7 aspect and Gopro Lab.
You logic is like buying a waterproof camera, it dies in the rain, then saying why didn't you put an umbrella over it. A gopro is meant to take a 30 cm drop no problem.
Hit the nail on the head. My hero 12 was an absolute champ at karting. Colours popped and it was a great camera. Just that the screen felt laggy and low light stabilisation was non existent. If this were the only option I wouldn’t complain at all but considering my osmo action 4 does stabilisation 2x better and has a perfect app and software for less money. GoPro really needs to pull it out the park
the very first gopro I bought was a hero 8, and on my very first crash with it, I didn't even dent the thing and it just went out like a light. The Hero 8 is also in the upper end in weight that people tend to recommend for FPV, but when I sent it in for replacement, they gave me the Hero 9, with no batteries or any other accessories. So all of the batteries, filters, and everything else I had for the 8 were incompatible. That, coupled with the fact that the 9 weighs the equivalent of a stone paver, I haven't really used a gopro in forever
I do not discount anyone else's experience. Here is my own. I've lost count of the number of GoPro's I've owned going all the way back to the Hero 1. All that have failed outright were smashed to death, and I've lost 3 or so with aircraft, but I've not had any of them just take a bump and stop working. I think I have one intermittently working Hero 7. I do own an 11 mini but haven't crashed it at all yet (doesn't get used much though, as I don't like the non-replaceable battery). I've owned seven or eight Hero 7's (as it's the first and smallest that has Hypersmooth) which I use in all fixed wing aircraft and one quad. If I want to protect em, I use a full TPU mount that covers both screens. And yes, with the new bigger/bloatier Hero's the full TPU mount is pretty huge, which is why I have so many 7's.. My needs are pretty simple though. I don't need 10bit color, and don't have the patience for color grading. I fix my Protune settings to the conditions and often am making only the most minor tweaks in post. I also own a couple other brand action cameras and they all lack the one combination I really like on the Hero which is.. Superview + Hypersmooth.. which gives the best flow sensation (because it brings more ground into view) whether it's on fixed wing, quadcopter or my motorcycle. I was disappointed to see that the Osmo Action 5 still does not have a Superview equivalent, but pleasantly surprised to see that the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro *does* have it.. (Ultra Wide mode in 16:9 aspect, is a non-linear Superview equiv). O4 also has 10bit D-Log M. But of course it has no sound at all.. so..
Used a GoPro 9 to try to determine if my life was interesting enough for an action camera. It was, but the GoPro failed its tests. Simultaneously overheated and couldn't stand the cold. When I filmed my plane landing it overheated enough to destroy a battery. Then when I went to go on a snowmobile ride the fully charged practically new Enduro battery died at 50%. At this point I just went and bought an Action 4 and honestly the quality and handling has been great. It still heats up, but the only time it has heated up to the point where it stopped recording was when it was under the hot sun and the plane was very delayed waiting for takeoff.
I actually had similar problems with insta360 cameras. As you said, printing a mount with TPU was the thing that did it for me.I also added some double sideed mounting tape under the mount. The video was complety fine after that.
DJI's the goat. I don't understand why GoPro STILL haven't managed to put a better sensor into their cameras. The low-light performance SUCKS comparared to the competition, the footage gets grainy the second you exist perfect lighting conditions.
The biggest two issues I hear constantly with GoPro is the low light performance and the crappy battery life. Didn't realize the durability wasn't that great either. I ordered a insta360 ace pro 2. Doesn't have 10 bit but I don't need that so it's the perfect action camera imo for non professionals. The two chips give it really good video quality (better than DJI, not quite as good as GoPro in daylight yet) and the best low light performance. Plus a bunch of useful AI features. Durability is extremely solid too, I have seen videos of tossing this thing around to test it and it's completely fine
nice video! great information! try the nd filter on the insta go 3. worked for me since it allows you to lower your shutter speed without burning the image, which results on less vibrations picked by the sensor :D greetings from Argentina!
TPU mount for insta360 go3 will help, but I'd say it's more an issue of your shutter speed matching too closely the RPM of your motors. You need to make the shutter speed a value that isn't divisible by that RPM value. So often times choosing say 640 instead of 500 for shutter speed may help, I have these same issues on the DJI 03.
You need the “anti jello mount” for the 360 go camera to get rid of the shake. The anti jello mount was an old 2014 era flitetest design for analog cameras
I have a hero 7 and a hero 10 and every single time I try to switch I am reminded that other action cameras don't do stabilization or action as well. And I am recording racing which is important. But at the end of the day, I cannot trust my GoPros to just work all the time. On an off-road trip two weeks ago, I had one that killed three batteries because of the cold it was 14° f. And then I had another one mounted inside of my truck with the heater running a bit warmer than most people want it but comfortable enough that I drive home like that. And my hero 7 overheated so I had one overheat and one freeze. My wife just got me an DJI action 4 and I'm so excited to try something that's not GoPro I love my DJI Cosmo
Yea, i swore off gopro since my hero 7 black. My Session 5 cams were a legend, they could take so much abuse and just worked. Now i run an Action 4 and O3 DVR, which is honestly good enough for most use cases. O4 DVR will be extremely close to most high end action cams.
I had the same GoPro experience with the Hero 7 (got one, did the overheating/shutdown thing, got a new one, happened again), switched to insta360, and haven't looked back
Complete guess since I don't have a Go 3/3S or fly FPV, but an ND filter would generally make the wobbly video go away by making the shutter speed longer.
Is the HERO4K sample in your drive an original file from the camera? Or was it processed through their app? It seems to be missing the metadata. Thanks
Couple weeks ago I emailed DJI asking them for an alternative camera. One of my recommendations was no screens. Will be cheaper, lighter and use less battery. Watch this space
I been flying FPV since 2015, and looking at this video and mainly the way YT handles the footage... things really havent progressed enough in any action camera since the session 4. madness
You have to manage your expectations the new small 4K gopro is a budget friendly camera, never meant to replace the "Black" series cameras. If you are working on commercial projects and your work is valued accordingly then you can allow yourself to just buy another one while the broken one is being replaced under gopro subscription. From reading Hate comments about gopros I can see that it's mostly from enthusiast or small creators that considers themselves big time. From what I see around events, still for professional POV experts GoPro is the way to go. It might change in the future but GP Log in bright conditions is still the best you can get from a tiny camera. I have been a gopro user since the gopro 3 and always have been lucky when came to hardware or firmware troubles.
I recently got the RunCam Thumb 2. It has great video, records sound and it’s very small and light. I also have a GoPro Hero 11. I got the balance lead power adaptor so I can use it without the battery. It’s still MUCH heavier than the Thumb 2. The Thumb 2 is only $100 vs the $300-400 GoPro. You should try the Thumb 2.
when OA3 launch, lots of die hard GP users refuse to admit DJI was doing a good job, despite tons of good reviews. Their sole reason to stay was GP has better Video quality and sharpness despite having serious battery freeze and overheat issue (which DJI OA3 overcome this problem) Cue OA4 OA5 now, those who complained eventually migrate to DJI. (i got the DJI OA3 dec batch and it was good)
GoPro owns the market and so they got lazy. My biggest complaint is always GoPro Quik. I don’t care if the low light performance isn’t great. Nothing I do, is in the dark. Maybe good for vloggers. But all I do is surf, mountain bike, and do outside stuff. Low light is meh
Hey, I have been using gopro for several production shoots on my fpv drone. I have to say that Gopro's quality is still significantly better. My 11 mini is still working fine after several crashes, but maybe I'm just lucky and I'm kinda scared when the card will turn after hearing all these stories :D
Let’s just say GoPro cameras had the best hardware (they don’t) AND the best software (they don’t) AND the best accessories (they kinda win here) NONE of that matters when GoPro Quik is how you have to edit stuff. I know there’s better options. But Insta360 does great with their apps.
I have the insta360 go2, best settings is to shoot in PROvideo mode. There is raw function if you do color grading, you can change the stabilization after the fact. And many more.
for a osmo action 4 or 5 with dlog m and an editing software cannot be beaten (unless you get a cinelifter and gimbal) especially with its better colour range, night preformance and sensor size and 10-12 bit color
You know what I use to get the video from the sd card of my Go Pro? My DJI Avata 2! Why? Cause when I plug in my go pro directly: - it drains my battery - can overheat during file transfer - uses an annoying media protocol that needs a special driver - you can't play the video files directly without copying them! -they transfer at 5 MB/s instead of 40 MB/s But when I put the sd card in my avata 2: - It does not drain my battery - It does not overheat during file transfer - I can play video files direcly without having to copy them first - they copy at 40 MB/s Good job GoPro! You spend 99,9% of your R&D budget and 0.01% on your software development. And that's just one of the many annoyences of why your losing so much market share. People are just soooo sick of all the bullshit you have to deal with, with a go pro. Hell, my hero 11 can only film mayb 10 minutes in 5.3K at 60 fps before it overheats. Like WTF! Get your shit together Go Pro or your going bankrupt.
ive had mine for 2 years and its been perfect I don't know what the problem with yours is (sponsored? i don't know) but maybe you should try a full big camera like the hero 12 or 13
@@ryandundas2851 usually if I’m putting up in vertical format or something, but even if it’s 16:9 it allows you to have room to move the frame up and down
When your GoPro 10 12 fails in a tournament and fails to record for the team….we went to Insta360 Ace Pro. No overheating, bloated batteries to deal with. The old Go Pro 7 still works just the vid quality is no longer on par with newer cameras.
Hey I'm looking to buy an action camera, and I'm leaning toward the go3s. I've got a crux 3 2s toothpick quad. It comes with a tpu print for the go 2 actually.
@willsintheair thanks for replying, i already have a runcam thumb pro, but my main goal was onboard stabilization. There is a world of difference in the stabilization between Gyroflow and even the old insta360 go1. Thank you for your suggestion about the image quality vs price, that is another priority. Might go with the Action 2 or a naked GoPro 10 with ultrawide lens.
I just went through the pain of trying to buy an action camera, and ended up with the hero 13. DJI puts spyware into their app and they require you to use the app to activate the camera. You can’t actually buy the ace pro 2 right now, so that’s the insta 360 out. If you want a good camera you can actually buy that doesn’t spy on you, GoPro still wins.
I originally bought an insta camera for filming under water, wasnt really happy with the quality so i tried with my phone in an under water case (pixel 7 pro) and it was shocking how much better it was than the action camera. Iphones are supposed to take really great video as well, so is there any way of protecting a flagship phone and flying it? I would love to see that footage in comparison!
If only they shipped a mini with decent firmware. Hero5 session had the same problems. I suspect it was due to battery management/saving measures. Mi hero5 session started working pretty good after I removed the battery and started powering it thru USB only.

Still using mine too. An Action 2 with square resolution and D-Log M with a slightly better battery and I'm going for it
im confused - isnt the action 5 better than the action 2? or what am i missing here
@@ltemerpoc form factor of the 2 is way better
As an FPV pilot my GoPro Plus subscription has payed for itself numerous times. I don't mess around with warranty because drone crashes aren't covered and I prefer to call them and simply say "I broke another one, we'll need to do the replacement." Twice they've given me my replacement for free. IMO, it's a little silly to run the newest GoPro on an FPV drone especially if you fly freestyle. Buy a NEW Black edition from GoPro but go back a couple series to save money. GoPro plus will still let me replace my Hero Session 5. Unlimited cloud storage comes in handy too with these files getting bigger and bigger.
caddx peanut is a modded verson of the 3s made in colabaration with insta 360 and was designed for fpv
isn‘t it called caddx wallnut?
@ that’s a diferent one that’s really bad
I'm using action cameras for 14 years. Used to be all GoPro but long switch to DJI. While also not perfect they are still way more reliable, GoPros are just too unreliable and the amount of footage I didn't get because a GoPro played up is criminal.
"Doesn't have a screen" 1:40
"Stopped working" "the screen..." 1:58
He's talking about the large touch screen
It was the small LCD screen that broke
it's nice to hear you 3d print
A few weeks later get told by GoPro "the camera was misused, but as a gesture of good will they will replace it for me." - (*Misused? it hadn't even been turned on)
I get the replacement in the post and it is clearly a refurbished unit. Never again!
No one really hates GoPro. They just say they do for likes & validation because they think that’s what people want to hear. When the 13 came out, all the comments were full of ‘RIP GoPro’. But, over the months, you see the sentiment change as they realise they shouldn’t have mindlessly followed the crowd
agreed even tho I’m an Osmo action user ahah
I really hate gopro. I’m a professional and used almost 12 gopro’s in het last years of all kind of generations. The 1 thing that stands out is: reliability. I have to film most of the time more than 1 hour and 2 of 3 crashed before the hour. Now I have 5 Osmo Actions 5 and they all keep working for almost 4 hours on 1 accu. So the image is comparible with the gopro but the reliability is so much higher. It’s not about ‘mindlessly following the crowd’.
@@mediataal holy that’s a lot of OA5
Strap mount for the win 🙏
You buy/print a TPU mount that does cover everything of the GoPro and has some extra wall structures.......then You can mount it with a Battery strap to any FPV drone.
Thanks man. You just saved me a lot of money
Maybe you should try the Gopro Hero 10 Bones. Its designed for drones so it doesn't have any screens and it should have good camera quality aswell.
duarability doodoo
Good luck finding one nowadays.
If you fly FPV with it they won't honor warranty.
GoPro is junk
GoPro Replaced my hero 11 mini twice in the first 2 months and the 3rd stopped working so I switched to DJI and absolutely love it
after owning a few gopros, i was back in the market for an action camera, and i was very suprised to see how bad the current gopros are compared to the competition, ended up getting the DJI Action 5 Pro, its awesome
Nice informative video and story telling 👍. Wish DJI made a camera with small form factor like action2 but with 10 bit color and log profile
Buys phone.. doesn't put case on phone... drops phone... phone broke. Uh oh
You logic is like buying a waterproof camera, it dies in the rain, then saying why didn't you put an umbrella over it.
A gopro is meant to take a 30 cm drop no problem.
I’m about to get the Action 5 pro, I’m super excited
Talking about why people hate on gopro while GoPro is on a stand in the background 2:24
I remember when Contour action cameras were the helmet camera of choice for combat footage and outdoor action sports.
I actually had similar problems with insta360 cameras. As you said, printing a mount with TPU was the thing that did it for me.I also added some double sideed mounting tape under the mount. The video was complety fine after that.
Trun the light pole into spaghetti sounds really delicious ~~
DJI Action 2 is my go-to FPV cam.
nice video! great information! try the nd filter on the insta go 3. worked for me since it allows you to lower your shutter speed without burning the image, which results on less vibrations picked by the sensor :D
greetings from Argentina!
3:57 "Surely, it's good"
It isn't. And stop calling me Shirley!
Sorry, couldn't resist!
Also I have the Action 5 and I agree! It's amazing.
""Gopr..Oh"" haha
GoPro session had the best form factor for fpv, a shame it was discontinued
I really wish they still made the session cameras because they are the best action cameras for FPV in my opinion
How do you get so little views on your long forms you deserve more 👍
I subscribed
My wife just got me an DJI action 4 and I'm so excited to try something that's not GoPro I love my DJI Cosmo
dji started kicking gopro of the market since Action 4/GP12 - now we need naked dji action kits!
Yea, i swore off gopro since my hero 7 black. My Session 5 cams were a legend, they could take so much abuse and just worked. Now i run an Action 4 and O3 DVR, which is honestly good enough for most use cases. O4 DVR will be extremely close to most high end action cams.
NICKKKK U FINALLY POSTED AGAIN YEAAAAA edit: first
Insta360 Ace Pro 2 doesn't have 10bit either
Nick you should make a video on building a drone I would love it❤❤❤
I had the same GoPro experience with the Hero 7 (got one, did the overheating/shutdown thing, got a new one, happened again), switched to insta360, and haven't looked back
Complete guess since I don't have a Go 3/3S or fly FPV, but an ND filter would generally make the wobbly video go away by making the shutter speed longer.
I been flying FPV since 2015, and looking at this video and mainly the way YT handles the footage... things really havent progressed enough in any action camera since the session 4. madness
what should help a bit is adding a screenprotector to the back, front display and camera lens
Hmmm there’s been a few people suggesting it so I think I’ll get it aye! It seems to look pretty robust as well
Damn. Imagine buying 2 expensive cameras and after each one of them stopped working to go and buy the third same camera
The best action camera for FPV is the Hero 10 Bones, like it is made for it.
still rocking the session 5! love this camera! will run them till I cant find one to buy..... or they release session 6 :P
Get a good gopro like the 12 again and then get a waterproof case which will give it a whole lot of protection
crazy how easy it broke considering what it took to break the old one.
when OA3 launch, lots of die hard GP users refuse to admit DJI was doing a good job, despite tons of good reviews.
Their sole reason to stay was GP has better Video quality and sharpness despite having serious battery freeze and overheat issue (which DJI OA3 overcome this problem)
Cue OA4 OA5 now, those who complained eventually migrate to DJI.
(i got the DJI OA3 dec batch and it was good)
hey so i am thinking of making my own fpv drone, what are the best options for every component???
11 mini has been known to fail. No warning, no sign of error, one day it's still working fine, the next day it just won't turn on anymore.
have you heard anything good abt the gopro 10 bones? also gopro can replace those broke 11s if you've got the subscription! its a pretty good deal!
What you really need is a good shock absorber on your action cam !
Let’s just say GoPro cameras had the best hardware (they don’t) AND the best software (they don’t) AND the best accessories (they kinda win here)
NONE of that matters when GoPro Quik is how you have to edit stuff. I know there’s better options. But Insta360 does great with their apps.
Surely theres some sort of brace or case you can put it in thats still mountable? And have you thought about screen protectors?
I have the insta360 go2, best settings is to shoot in PROvideo mode. There is raw function if you do color grading, you can change the stabilization after the fact. And many more.
Ive seen some people use modular like camera's for pov drones. If something breaks its easier to replace.
for a osmo action 4 or 5 with dlog m and an editing software cannot be beaten (unless you get a cinelifter and gimbal)
especially with its better colour range, night preformance and sensor size and 10-12 bit color
You know what I use to get the video from the sd card of my Go Pro? My DJI Avata 2! Why? Cause when I plug in my go pro directly:
- it drains my battery
- can overheat during file transfer
- uses an annoying media protocol that needs a special driver
- you can't play the video files directly without copying them!
-they transfer at 5 MB/s instead of 40 MB/s
But when I put the sd card in my avata 2:
- It does not drain my battery
- It does not overheat during file transfer
- I can play video files direcly without having to copy them first
- they copy at 40 MB/s
Good job GoPro!
Like WTF! Get your shit together Go Pro or your going bankrupt.
i have action 5 and it is really perfect, the amount of abuse it took in is absolutely crazy
"I put a lot of money on this camera"
GoPro 12 = 200, Ace Pro 2 = 400
The Hero 5/6/7 were indestructible. From the 9 onwards theyve def got more fragile. I keep a 6 Black on my basher
ive had mine for 2 years and its been perfect I don't know what the problem with yours is (sponsored? i don't know) but maybe you should try a full big camera like the hero 12 or 13
I’m curious why do you need the camera to shoot 4:3 footage? All of the footage in this video is 16:9
@@ryandundas2851 usually if I’m putting up in vertical format or something, but even if it’s 16:9 it allows you to have room to move the frame up and down
When your GoPro 10 12 fails in a tournament and fails to record for the team….we went to Insta360 Ace Pro. No overheating, bloated batteries to deal with.
The old Go Pro 7 still works just the vid quality is no longer on par with newer cameras.
you need to get some tpu mounts damn
Can you perhaps place a bit of foam behind the camera so if it does have an impact it might not break the screen?
For the Go, use a higher shutter and it should work
Hey I'm looking to buy an action camera, and I'm leaning toward the go3s. I've got a crux 3 2s toothpick quad. It comes with a tpu print for the go 2 actually.
Have a look at the Runcam Thumb 2. The Go3s are pretty expensive for the image quality they produce.
I know gopro have good support for Gyro flow (post stabilizer using gyro information.). not sure if dji action 5 have the same support?
I originally bought an insta camera for filming under water, wasnt really happy with the quality so i tried with my phone in an under water case (pixel 7 pro) and it was shocking how much better it was than the action camera. Iphones are supposed to take really great video as well, so is there any way of protecting a flagship phone and flying it? I would love to see that footage in comparison!
The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and over again, expecting a different result
Can't say any thing negative about it, I've had a real hard crash with my gopro 11 mini and it works
Get a hero 11! I have had one forever! Smashed and dinged it up too!
If only they shipped a mini with decent firmware.
Hero5 session had the same problems. I suspect it was due to battery management/saving measures.
Mi hero5 session started working pretty good after I removed the battery and started powering it thru USB only.
Can you make a video about upgrading your fpv setup plz!!!!!!!!!!
