For those wondering who don’t have a citadel mold line remover a pair of scissors will do just the job. Only use one of the scissor blades and it works extremely well!
@LandJproductions hey man when I was also a first time customiser I also painted and sharpied clones and I have to say don’t do both as you will most likely regret it in the future I know I did Back in my time however there wasn’t any decals available and now there everywhere I would definitely recommend 100% decals if you can however if that is too pricy for you then sharpie it is

@@zachduperron8543 oooo sounds good I actually saw it on your Instagram story today good your starting now to decal them So for the sealant everyone uses this because it’s amazing it is the Rust Oluem clear gloss www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-250702-Stops-Spray-12-Ounce/dp/B003ES43F8/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=rustoleum+clear+gloss&qid=1611224365&sr=8-16 However the man himself thiccy brick uses the sealent Varnish Montana clear UV protected spray www.montana-cans.com/en/spray-cans/montana-tech-sprays/varnish-400ml/montana-varnish-400ml And of course one more thing I use rust oleum x2 clear satin So you have (gloss) which everyone uses for a nice glossy slightly shiny fresh look (Satin) which is what I use it’s a mix between glossy and Matt And Matt which is just plain not really recommended but you can still finish it off with that but your LEGO figure will loose the glossy reflections Sorry for the long text hope it was helpful my man and if you wanna know how to decal any particular clone or any other help with decaling just let me know my man

Hi there it definitely does although it’s a much slower process it works great however make sure after the print is off with nail polish so is the nail polish as if there is still even a little bit of nail polish left it’ll ruin the decal you put on it
Cool! I did want to get commander bly but since this will be my first time decaling I would rather mess up one of the generic troopers rather than bly.

Thanks so much for the tutorial! I was just about to order a P2 Rex decal sheet and I watched your tutorial and it helped me alot! And by the way the Rex decal sheet I might order has arm decals so any tips for that?
Thank you so much for the awesome comment I’m super glad that this has helped you My tip for arms would be to aline the forearm part of the arm decal to the edge of the arm before the hand or alternatively the shoulder to pad to the up most part of the LEGO arm but making sure it is flat and not bent You can also look at how other photos of decaled arms to get an idea of where to put yours My tip would be to choose either the shoulder and then paste the decal down or choose the cuffling and then paste the decal up I hope this made sense I do apologise for the poor description If I’m not too lazy or busy I’ll try and make a video What brand arms was the Rex Jonaks? But once again glad yo of assisted in your decaling and any other questions feel free to ask :)
Hey man this made my day in a week ill get my first decal clone and a 501 st battlepack it will be great your video will make them look a lot better but i wanna ask something what will happen if we dont sprey the decals with seal
I’m so happy to hear that ! I’m very glad to have made your week and I can’t wait for you to enjoy your new decaled figs and 501st battlepack sealant is the finishing touch and makes your decal look like it was printed from the LEGO factory and gives it that glossy texture sealant also acts as a protective coat against your decals from coming off If you don’t spray your decals nothing will happen if you don’t do any movement with them but they are more prone to damage if you touch or grab them so it’s better to seal your figures then risk it unless of course you just plan to put them in a display case and that’s it I hope this has helped any other questions feel free to ask away enjoy your week :)

Thank you so much for the comment my man I’m very glad I helped I also bought heaps of decals on Black Friday And about the hips it is essential to carve the hips otherwise the leg decal will peal off every time you move the leg so it is essential but I’ll try and find a way to make it really easy But very glad this helped you and any other questions always feel free to ask my man
Thank you so much and glad to hear it There’s heaps of store options to choose from so it’s all about what you want I highly recommend jonaks for beginners but if you want more style go for thiccys

sorry for the long reply somehow my other one didn't come through but i wouldnt cut the feet but instead just use the foot as the base, so put the foot print first and then slowly put the rest on the leg and adjust further on sorry for the wait for this reply but I jope that helps
Yes absolutely I don’t see why not modellers do the exact same thing with there miniature model figures so same principle can apply for LEGO figures as well just of course make sure it’s just a small coat form a far and to wait for the paint to dry first :) If you have any other questions always feel free to ask :)
Yes! you do only if it’s a side torso decal or a full wrap arm decal such as Av figures, however it is not necessary for decals that don’t require full wrap arm or side torso declas such as thiccy bricks or bendle bricks But other than that great question If you need any more help just feel free to ask :)
No Sealant is used after finishing the decal to avoid rips I would say if it’s a rip you can try and manually with tweasers try and manual piece it back together like a puzzle and then once you’ve done that use the sealant to make it stick back together to avoid any more rips
Hey man so I unfortunately don’t as it’s just a bunch of random fake lego parts such as cobi and megablocks But what I would recommend is use pieces your willing to sacrifice and use those pieces to make something like that I pretty much used these fake pieces 1x ladder megablocks 4 x. 2x4 megablocks bricks 1 x. 2x8 megablocks plate 1x. 6x8 plate megablocks 1x cannon piece megablocks But pretty much it can be any pieces you don’t mind sacrificing when getting sprayed on aswell as parts that are good for decal parts such as for the torso you want those technic pieces so you stick the neck into the hole the hands should connect to a rod and the legs can just stick the baseplate and just get some really old or fake lego heads to put the helmets on Hope this helped my man
Yes actually just make sure it’s not super squishy and dosent have too many holes other than that it would be completely fine Any other questions just feel free to ask :)
This video is very helpful, I just wanted to ask about how neccesary the sealer spray is and how long you should leave between sealing, because I’ve received my decals but I have no spray, what should I do
I’m very glad to hear this video has helped you out I would say it’s necessary to seal the troopers if you plan on moving them Such as in stopmotions mocs or even just playing with them then sealing is necessary Otherwise if you plan on just leaving them in a box and barely very moving them then I would say no need to seal I hope this has helped if you need further explanation or Have any other questions just feel free to ask :)
If it works it works !! And that’s actually awesome to hear a different way than what people usually do to be honest I’ve been trying to find a different way from the way I used in this video as It’s a very messy method
That is correct so you need to carve three things for AV figures The hips The arms but not too much or they will be too loose and the arms will fall out And the legs themselves Each has that small hole which is perfect size for the citadel mold line remover Just a very little bit carve the legs so that when it’s connected to the hips it is lose but not too lose very important other wise legs will scratch off Sorry for the long paragraph hope this helps any other questions just feel free to ask
Ahaha my man it sure did I just hope it has helped everyone out who has watched it aswell as sorry also for the long awaited reply on this comment also how have you been my man
Yes if you wish your figure to last for longer other wise no but that’s at your own risk mine without sealant which has been over 2 years have started to easily peel As an alternative you can also use micro gloss to seal the figure as opposed to spraying on sealant you can just brush this small amount of micro gloss to it Hope this helps
Thank you very much So for sealant I highly recommend you use that however fingernail polish us used to remove prints on figures and can damage your decals heavily if you apply it on the decal only apply finger nail polish if you want to let’s say remove a print or sharpie off of a figure to make them blank Other tools instead of a citadel mold linear remover would be an electric nail dremel which is perfect but most expensive I highly recommend a citadel mold liner remover how ever if your looking cheap I don’t recommend this as it’s dangerous but scissors work Just use one side and start carving like the citadel mold liner remover but with scissors Hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask :)
Thank you so much The one in the video is a cheap applicator doing that came in a larger rectangle shape and I just cut it However just a normal soft sponge will do the trick ;) Hope this helps ! And any other questions feel free to ask :)
Thank you very much, Sealant is a vital process and you shouldnt skip it unless you are never really gonna touch that figure or handle it very carefully always then you can skip it but I highly recommend you do If you want the figure to last for long as it protects the decal you have put on and gives it a finsih clean Sealant works like a book cover or a phone case its their for that extra protection but for decals its vital but skippable if you want to risk it hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask
So for arm print the best way is to always aline the “shoulder clone armour” in centre of the upper shoulder and making sure that the cuff or wrist part is right on the edge And this method can apply to any arm style decal such as thiccybricks jonaks Or even AV figures just make sure to always get the shoulder in line the middle of the upper arm and make sure aswell that the wrist is exactly on edge Hope this helps any other questions or clearing up feel free to ask
Exactly it’s the most chemical free method and best but again exactly as you said super complicated and takes quite a bite of time especially if it’s for torsos But for helmets or really small marks it’s perfect thank you so much for the comment my Emperor
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME it has been my pleasure to create this comment with some advice, not my advice, though. Advice I heard from someone who scraped the blue printing off a 501st trooper to make a normal clone

Hi there, great video! I was wondering if instead of using sealent you could use like a thin layer of glue or something like that, as I am just trying it for the first time and don’t plan on doing any more decals, and I don’t really want to buy sealant
Yeah glue should work !! If you eventually do more figures definitely get sealant along the way but for now yes so long as it is a white glue stick nothing else it will be a good cheap way of sealing your figure! @@CLON3RAW3S0ME Ah my bad, i skipped to the leg part because thats what I was looking for, thank you! Can you carve the hips any less so there isnt as obvious a gap?
Hi there That’s correct unfortunately the leg decals will rub off if you move them without carving the hips there is too much friction between the leg decal and the hip I know from personal experience and have rubbed off 3 pairs You could alternatively cut the leg decal in half that way it’s just the knee pad and below I hope this helps If you need any more help since your a beginner let me know and I’ll be more than happy to help :)
BrickMasterNate so the helmets I use are knockoffs you can get off jonak for a $1 each but I can tell you that if you go on AliExpress you can find a pack of 10 for $2 so I would try there my man
BrickMasterNate the ones he’s got are actually better because they have the helmet line whereas mine doesn’t but it’s very easy it’s just different angles as long as you have the tools it should be pretty easy
BrickMasterNate if you look at a blank helmet there is a line running horizontal on the helmet which marks where the black line above the visor should go on a clone trooper
Great question many have asked this already on this video but always a good question So you must carve your hips as if you do not carve the hips every time you move your leg upwards or make your figure sit down or just bend is leg you will peel off the leg decal and scratch it so that it can no longer be used ever again so to avoid as such You must carve the hips enough so the legs can move like it normally would but without touching the hip and peeling off the leg Sorry for the really long reply but I Hope this helps my man any other questions just feel free to ask :)

Hi there it’s best you do seal your figure however if you just plan to put them for display make sure you press a lot on those decals becuse even in time those decals can start too peel I have made quite a lot of decals most of which hasn’t been sealed for well over 2 years but so far just for display hasn’t seemed to have damaged them but 1 or 2 have peeled easily due to non sealing Yes it’s necessary I’ll say in the long run
Hi there so helmets i got or the she LEGO ones you can get them in every decal/ custom LEGO store now including jonak toys and clone army customs With the blank bodies as seen in the video I just got them of BrickLink and then got brasso to take off any prints off the bodies to make them blank and also bought blank legs with black hips Or you can go a more expensive route and just buy blank white bodies all on BrickLink Hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask

Great question one of the most widely asked here so You need to carve the hips in order to move the decaled leg other wise if you do not then every time you move your figures legs upwards the leg decal will peal off and will ruin the figure To avoid it there are two options You can cut the leg decal so it’s only the knee pads and foot decals or just don’t have any leg decal that’s the only ways to avoid carving hips Other than that hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask
So I use forged cheap helmets From that lepin brand you can find them for $1 on jonaks Or getting them in a bigger cheaper bulk from AliExpress Hope this helps my man :)
You can yes ! just make sure to not play with it too much because seal acts as a protective coat and will act like a glue over some few days / weeks Seal also adds that real LEGO print finish But I wouldn’t recommend avoiding sealing if it’s an av figure decal Im glad this helped and good luck with your decaling
Great question Pretty much if you want to you can just spray it out of the window as long as you don’t spray inside If your like me and your window can’t really open all to well just try and get the spray to go outside of your home because it’ll smell bad and for a while too So once you’ve sprayed it out the window just put the decals near the window and leave your window open for a while too let that smell out Hoped this helped sorry if the explanation isn’t too well but any other questions feel free to ask
Ahaha you absolutely aren’t There is no weirdos in the decaling industry only geniuses and mad scientist because everyone always finds something new or useful when it comes to decaling And no worries on the container as long as it has the vital component of room temperature water your all goods
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME Yeah. I was introduced to decalling during a time when everyone just sort of agreed that sanding the printing off was the best option. I eventually found out about brasso, but it was a few years before the practice became more widespread.
Hi there yes they are absolutely essential if you are putting on leg decals I learnt the hard way so when you don’t carve your hips and you pose your legs the hip and leg piece are practically touching so that when you loss your leg the leg decal itself peels of as you go to pose the leg I also thought you could get away with it but unless you don’t have any leg decals or your willing to only use the knee pad down of the decal then it’s an absolute must Hope this helps :)
Hi there I’m glad you’ve got some decal supplies from jonak my man really great place to get everything from there now for your situation I would highly recommend that you get a citadel mold liner remover or if you really want to because you don’t got it get a thick strong cardboard cutting knife and you must be very careful when carving the hips but even before you buy anything at all try investing to a electric nail filer dremel you can also find that on jonak or even just a hardware store that sells that pretty much that should do the best trick for a whole lot of decals my man Or I have this one other suggestion which requires no carving of the hips but you will have to sacrifice that small line above the knee pad Other than that that’s about the only things you can do Hope this helped my man sorry for the really long conversation Any other questions just feel free to ask :)
@@DuckProductions no worries my man I’m very glad that they are helpful I appreciate that my man and very good decisions in investing for the nail filer as it’s perfect if your making heaps of decal figures will save you heaps of time I know that for sure
I’m new to decalling and everyone seems to have a different preference for sealant. I’ve been told by many to use Glossy and a few others said use Satin. What makes you use Satin over Gloss?
Hi there great question I actually prefer any rust oleum brand Sealant or paint however I took satin over gloss as in New Zealand only x2 gloss is available and that’s too glossy in my opinion as supposed to other countries having clear gloss enemal which is just the normal gloss and not the x2 gloss I prefer satin over gloss as it actually gives enough gloss without making it far too glossy but just giving that right amount of gloss that is why I prefer satin over gloss however I use Satin in a x2 format However if you can find a rust oleum enamel clear gloss www.rustoleum.com/en/product-catalog/consumer-brands/stops-rust-advanced/stops-rust-advanced-clear-enamel it looks like this then I’d say definitely go for that however if you have the choices only between a x2 ultra clear gloss and a x2 ultra clear satin I’d definitely say go for the satin as it gives that nice not too glossy look Sorry for the long message but I hope this helps and other questions feel free to ask before beginning :)

Great question so when you put on the leg decals on the legs and then you lift them up without carving the hip it will literally take off and destroy the decal when you don’t carve the hip it’s happen to me many times because I didn’t carve good enough you absolutely must carve the hips when putting leg decals so you avoid that leg being peeled off when raising the leg But if you don’t wanna decal your leg you can just do that too or just cut of the little line above the knee cap that way you don’t have to carve your hips and it still looks pretty good Sorry for the long explanation hope this helps my man
where do you get the helmet, what i mean is how do you get a helmet with out any print already on it, and if you want to can you take the print off a helmet like you did the torso?
@@harrythedrummer498 very good questions especially the second one that’s the first someone has asked that So to answer where you can get blank helmets pretty much almost every where If you want cheap knock offs you can go on AliExpress HD bricks Jonak toys Thiccybricks Wiseguycustoms And a few more in terms of knock offs You may also get blank helemts which are very good and good quality but not LEGO accurate at clone army customs Which are really nice If you want pure LEGO blank helmets I would seek av figures If you want specific resin and more higher quality but not LEGO I’d also recommend av figures To answer your other question can you play with them If it’s just the torso and helmet print yes If it has any kind of leg decals or full 360 decals definitely no they are only for display/ stopmotion Sorry for the long reply but I hope that helps
Thanks for the question so you carve your hips because if your using.a leg decal and then you put it on the leg and then you move the legs in the LEGO figure sitting position it’ll peel off as legos hips are very stiff so carving the hips will take that friction off and will leave a very small gap between the hips and the leg But to avoid it all you have to do is cut your leg decal in half so it’s only the knee pad but it won’t look as good But carving the hips is very essential I hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask

Or I just have to throw this figurine away...🙄 Or maybe I can re-usenit after removing all to try to get a brand blank figurine... Thanks for your video. Kind regards.
Hi there it depends if it’s like in towards the end of a video when I made a mistake with sealing there is no way to fix it if it looks smudged or if you put so much Please don’t throw away the figures you can easily take off the decal and use the blank figure to try again For sealing it should just be 1 second (or say one one thousand) for spraying forms. Distance of 15 to 20cm or 6 to 8 inches Hope this has helped and the same thing happens to me so not to worry sometimes accessories such as clone back packs or Kama and pauldron can fix them by covering them Hope this has helped any other questions feel free to ask :)

It is exactly like this it’s hard and at the same time not so much general skywalker it depends on your decals Just decaling the torso and the helmet it’s not hard but lacks the detail That’s your simplest way to decal Just helmet and torso Your normal difficulty would be helmet torso and legs which is shown here And your hard version would be legs arms torso and helmet Your sightly harder version is a standard 360 av figure decals Your veteran difficulty would be one of the exclusive decals or a decal that is in all in one 360 degree colour decal such as black green yellow orange blue those are the hardest as you have to connect the decals perfectly Unfortunately it doesn’t get simpler than this video Unless you just wanna decal a torso then it’s the easiest or unless you use stickers instead of decals Any questions not mentioned in this video or explained now just let me know and I’ll try my best to explain general skywalker

Hi there im so sorry for the late reply yes however if you want to put leg decals you must cut the hups other wise every time you move the leg into the sitting position it will peel off If you dont want to carve your hips you can do this but wont look as good and that is cutting off the line above the knee pad so just leaving the knee pads and that way you can avoid cutting heaps entirely thank you very much im so sorry it came out to you alot later than intended any other questions feel free to ask.
Hi there so you can get sealant at your local hardware store for me it would be Bunnings warehouse or mitre 10 since I’m in New Zealand and not sure for you but something like that if not a hardware store you can also get them at any model stores or paint stores and if not than the internet www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-7701830-Stops-12-Ounce-Crystal/dp/B0010NY95S here’s the link to the Amazon one I found Hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask
Definitely don’t do it with scissors only with carving tools such as the tool I used in the videos And yes if you wish to decal your legs you have to carve the hips or alternatively you could cut the leg decal in half and only paste the bottom half on to the foot and knee instead of the thigh Hope this helps
Hello there So the reason you have to carve the hips is so that there is space between the hip and top of the LEGO leg piece as they are really close with each other and so the friction between the two would cause for your leg decal to peel off every time you move your leg so to avoid peeling off the leg decal you must carve the hips Hope this helped any other questions feel free to ask :)
Great question Absolutely sealant is the end product that keeps it sealed and safe like a screen protector or book cover it helps prevent the decals peeling off and become less scratchable Sorry for the long text man hope this helped
Hey, I don't have sealant and I got pretty worried when i saw some replies that you made saying that the figures wouldnt last very long. if you are just playing with the figure for example will the decal get damaged easily?
Great question happy you also looked at other replies I appreciate that So yeah depends which decals av figures are unplayable unless their printed the 360 degree decals are also unplayable pretty much you have to be very fragile with them If you have leg decals and you didn’t carve the hips properly and loosen the legs a little bit that’s also gonna tear if you play with em So sealant pretty much seals your figures so how it works is it makes sure that the decals you have won’t ever start peeling from a corner which will cause the decal to curl over time or just a particular piece however in my opinion you can get out of this situation by not playing so roughly with them or touching the main decal parts If you make sure that you have pressed the decal enough with the sponge than you may just be able to avoid sealant but you have to make sure you get the decal absolutely perfect on there However like I’ve said in other videos it’s better to have it than to risk it I understand money can be a problem for an already expensive hobby but I’d definitely get sealant What decals are you planning on doing so I know what kind of situation your in
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME Thanks, the type of decals I got were from Jonak Toys and I have never decaled before so I am waiting for those to come in, of course i will follow the main steps like carving etc. when i saw the part that you said if you press hard enough then you can avoid the sealant that got me thinking. thanks for the reply and great videos!

@@zachduperron8543 oooo sounds good I actually saw it on your Instagram story today good your starting now to decal them
So for the sealant everyone uses this because it’s amazing it is the Rust Oluem clear gloss www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-250702-Stops-Spray-12-Ounce/dp/B003ES43F8/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=rustoleum+clear+gloss&qid=1611224365&sr=8-16
However the man himself thiccy brick uses the sealent Varnish Montana clear UV protected spray
www.montana-cans.com/en/spray-cans/montana-tech-sprays/varnish-400ml/montana-varnish-400ml
And of course one more thing I use rust oleum x2 clear satin
So you have (gloss) which everyone uses for a nice glossy slightly shiny fresh look
(Satin) which is what I use it’s a mix between glossy and Matt
And Matt which is just plain not really recommended but you can still finish it off with that but your LEGO figure will loose the glossy reflections

Nail vanish remover also works for removing prints it will take a bit longer to do but it is cheaper than brasso

What is the purpose of carving the hips? I’m new to decaling and am wondering if it’s necessary.
Obi-Wan Kenobi hello there general kenobi absolutely is necessary at the end of the video I made a mistake where I didn’t carve enough and so it damaged the decal as it literally pushes the decal off when you bend the legs

Thank you so much for the awesome comment I’m super glad that this has helped you
My tip for arms would be to aline the forearm part of the arm decal to the edge of the arm before the hand or alternatively the shoulder to pad to the up most part of the LEGO arm but making sure it is flat and not bent
You can also look at how other photos of decaled arms to get an idea of where to put yours
My tip would be to choose either the shoulder and then paste the decal down or choose the cuffling and then paste the decal up
I hope this made sense I do apologise for the poor description
If I’m not too lazy or busy I’ll try and make a video
What brand arms was the Rex

Hey man this made my day in a week ill get my first decal clone and a 501 st battlepack it will be great your video will make them look a lot better but i wanna ask something what will happen if we dont sprey the decals with seal
I’m so happy to hear that ! I’m very glad to have made your week and I can’t wait for you to enjoy your new decaled figs and 501st battlepack
sealant is the finishing touch and makes your decal look like it was printed from the LEGO factory and gives it that glossy texture sealant also acts as a protective coat against your decals from coming off
If you don’t spray your decals nothing will happen if you don’t do any movement with them but they are more prone to damage if you touch or grab them so it’s better to seal your figures then risk it unless of course you just plan to put them in a display case and that’s it
I hope this has helped any other questions feel free to ask away

Yeah that also works
I’ve never actually heard of removing it with a paintbrush I usually see people including myself use cotton swabs so that was something interesting I just learnt thank you so much aswell for teaching me something :)
I wonder how the prints were able to perfectly match the helmet mold
I will say the 332nd and 187th I’m very impressed how well it fits but the 327th and 501st are slightly off but definitely lots of design that went into it to get that match
for the legs, ik there are some that have the feet print attached, should I cut that feet print separate or just apply the print as one whole
sorry for the long reply somehow my other one didn't come through but i wouldnt cut the feet but instead just use the foot as the base, so put the foot print first and then slowly put the rest on the leg and adjust further on
sorry for the wait for this reply but I jope that helps
Can I put sealant on paint such as Citadelle contrast or even waterbase paint like Apple Barel ?
Yes absolutely I don’t see why not modellers do the exact same thing with there miniature model figures so same principle can apply for LEGO figures as well just of course make sure it’s just a small coat form a far and to wait for the paint to dry first :)
If you have any other questions always feel free to ask :)
Question, for the torso do you have to carve the sides for the arms to move aswell?
Yes! you do only if it’s a side torso decal or a full wrap arm decal such as Av figures, however it is not necessary for decals that don’t require full wrap arm or side torso declas such as thiccy bricks or bendle bricks
But other than that great question
If you need any more help just feel free to ask :)
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME thanks
Should I use sealant to repair a decal that got ripped?
No
Sealant is used after finishing the decal to avoid rips I would say if it’s a rip you can try and manually with tweasers try and manual piece it back together like a puzzle and then once you’ve done that use the sealant to make it stick back together to avoid any more rips
Hey man i was wondering you had a parts list for the decaling stand
Hey man so I unfortunately don’t as it’s just a bunch of random fake lego parts such as cobi and megablocks
But what I would recommend is use pieces your willing to sacrifice and use those pieces to make something like that
I pretty much used these fake pieces
1x ladder megablocks
4 x. 2x4 megablocks bricks
1 x. 2x8 megablocks plate
1x. 6x8 plate megablocks
1x cannon piece megablocks
But pretty much it can be any pieces you don’t mind sacrificing when getting sprayed on aswell as parts that are good for decal parts such as for the torso you want those technic pieces so you stick the neck into the hole the hands should connect to a rod and the legs can just stick the baseplate and just get some really old or fake lego heads to put the helmets on
Hope this helped my man
will a normal dish soap sponge be a good replacement for the applications sponge?

I’m very glad to hear this video has helped you out
I would say it’s necessary to seal the troopers if you plan on moving them
Such as in stopmotions mocs or even just playing with them then sealing is necessary
Otherwise if you plan on just leaving them in a box and barely very moving them then I would say no need to seal
I hope this has helped if you need further explanation or Have any other questions just feel free to ask :)
I prefer to wet sand to remove the prints, but I’m sure that your method works just as well if not better.
If it works it works !! And that’s actually awesome to hear a different way than what people usually do to be honest I’ve been trying to find a different way from the way I used in this video as It’s a very messy method
Do you need to carve arms as well on Av figures I’ve heard some things about that
That is correct so you need to carve three things for AV figures
The hips
The arms but not too much or they will be too loose and the arms will fall out
And the legs themselves
Each has that small hole which is perfect size for the citadel mold line remover
Just a very little bit carve the legs so that when it’s connected to the hips it is lose but not too lose very important other wise legs will scratch off
Sorry for the long paragraph hope this helps any other questions just feel free to ask

Do you have to add sealant?
Yes if you wish your figure to last for longer other wise no but that’s at your own risk mine without sealant which has been over 2 years have started to easily peel
As an alternative you can also use micro gloss to seal the figure as opposed to spraying on sealant you can just brush this small amount of micro gloss to it
Hope this helps
Great vid! I don’t have sealant, so does clear finger nail polish work? And are there any other tools that’ll work for carving the legs?
Thank you very much
So for sealant I highly recommend you use that however fingernail polish us used to remove prints on figures and can damage your decals heavily if you apply it on the decal only apply finger nail polish if you want to let’s say remove a print or sharpie off of a figure to make them blank
Other tools instead of a citadel mold linear remover would be an electric nail dremel which is perfect but most expensive I highly recommend a citadel mold liner remover how ever if your looking cheap I don’t recommend this as it’s dangerous but scissors work
Just use one side and start carving like the citadel mold liner remover but with scissors
Hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask :)

Amazing video btw, is the sealant vital for the process or can I skip it
Thank you very much, Sealant is a vital process and you shouldnt skip it unless you are never really gonna touch that figure or handle it very carefully always then you can skip it but I highly recommend you do If you want the figure to last for long as it protects the decal you have put on and gives it a finsih clean
Sealant works like a book cover or a phone case its their for that extra protection but for decals its vital but skippable if you want to risk it
hope this helps
any other questions feel free to ask
How do I do arm prints since where should everything line up
So for arm print the best way is to always aline the “shoulder clone armour” in centre of the upper shoulder and making sure that the cuff or wrist part is right on the edge
And this method can apply to any arm style decal such as thiccybricks jonaks
Or even AV figures just make sure to always get the shoulder in line the middle of the upper arm and make sure aswell that the wrist is exactly on edge
Hope this helps any other questions or clearing up feel free to ask
you CAN also scrape off the printing with an exacto knife, but it's not as easy as the other stuff.
Exactly it’s the most chemical free method and best but again exactly as you said super complicated and takes quite a bite of time especially if it’s for torsos
But for helmets or really small marks it’s perfect

I'm thinking about getting into decals, but I was wondering if when you put decals on the legs they end up damaged once put back together and moved around? I dont want to end up in that kind of situation since the two pieces are basically touching.
That is correct that is why you must carve the hips in order to avoid such as things
In the video it shows m carving the hips
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME Ah my bad, i skipped to the leg part because thats what I was looking for, thank you! Can you carve the hips any less so there isnt as obvious a gap?
Will makeup sponges work?
Absolutely it will it’s actually preferred I just didn’t have any makeup sponges at the time but yes a sty hey will work :)
Im just curious, is it necessary to carve the hips? Will the decals rub off? Im a beginner and i never fully understood
Hi there
That’s correct unfortunately the leg decals will rub off if you move them without carving the hips there is too much friction between the leg decal and the hip I know from personal experience and have rubbed off 3 pairs
You could alternatively cut the leg decal in half that way it’s just the knee pad and below
I hope this helps
If you need any more help since your a beginner let me know and I’ll be more than happy to help :)
Your video is very helpful. Which helmets do you use? Resin cast, knockoff (from Jonak Toys), wiped helmets, or something else?
BrickMasterNate so the helmets I use are knockoffs you can get off jonak for a $1 each but I can tell you that if you go on AliExpress you can find a pack of 10 for $2 so I would try there my man
Ok. I bought the knockoff helmets from Jonak as well but haven't tried decaling on them.
BrickMasterNate the ones he’s got are actually better because they have the helmet line whereas mine doesn’t but it’s very easy it’s just different angles as long as you have the tools it should be pretty easy

may i ask what the carving of the hips are for?
Great question many have asked this already on this video but always a good question
So you must carve your hips as if you do not carve the hips every time you move your leg upwards or make your figure sit down or just bend is leg you will peel off the leg decal and scratch it so that it can no longer be used ever again so to avoid as such
You must carve the hips enough so the legs can move like it normally would but without touching the hip and peeling off the leg

Is it necessary to use clear spray to protect figures? I'm asking because I'm only going to display the figures.
Hi there it’s best you do seal your figure however if you just plan to put them for display make sure you press a lot on those decals becuse even in time those decals can start too peel I have made quite a lot of decals most of which hasn’t been sealed for well over 2 years but so far just for display hasn’t seemed to have damaged them but 1 or 2 have peeled easily due to non sealing
Yes it’s necessary I’ll say in the long run

Where did you get the blank minifig and helmet?
Hi there so helmets i got or the she LEGO ones you can get them in every decal/ custom LEGO store now including jonak toys and clone army customs
With the blank bodies as seen in the video I just got them of BrickLink and then got brasso to take off any prints off the bodies to make them blank and also bought blank legs with black hips
Or you can go a more expensive route and just buy blank white bodies all on BrickLink

So what is the purpose of carving the hips in the beginning?
Great question many have asked this already on this video but always a good question
So you must carve your hips as if you do not carve the hips every time you move your leg upwards or make your figure sit down or just bend is leg you will peel off the leg decal and scratch it so that it can no longer be used ever again so to avoid as such

Why do you need to carve the hips?
Great question one of the most widely asked here so
You need to carve the hips in order to move the decaled leg other wise if you do not then every time you move your figures legs upwards the leg decal will peal off and will ruin the figure
To avoid it there are two options
You can cut the leg decal so it’s only the knee pads and foot decals or just don’t have any leg decal that’s the only ways to avoid carving hips
Other than that hope this helps any other questions feel free to ask
Also what helmets do you use?
So I use forged cheap helmets
From that lepin brand you can find them for $1 on jonaks
Or getting them in a bigger cheaper bulk from AliExpress
Hope this helps my man :)
This helped me but can you decal a clone without seal???
You can yes ! just make sure to not play with it too much because seal acts as a protective coat and will act like a glue over some few days / weeks
Seal also adds that real LEGO print finish
But I wouldn’t recommend avoiding sealing if it’s an av figure decal
Im glad this helped and good luck with your decaling
What should I do if I don't have a backyard and can only work in doors
Great question
Pretty much if you want to you can just spray it out of the window as long as you don’t spray inside
If your like me and your window can’t really open all to well just try and get the spray to go outside of your home because it’ll smell bad and for a while too
So once you’ve sprayed it out the window just put the decals near the window and leave your window open for a while too let that smell out
Hoped this helped sorry if the explanation isn’t too well but any other questions feel free to ask
Oh good. So I'm not a weirdo for using Brasso in decalling. I use different looking container though.
Ahaha you absolutely aren’t
There is no weirdos in the decaling industry only geniuses and mad scientist because everyone always finds something new or useful when it comes to decaling
And no worries on the container as long as it has the vital component of room temperature water your all goods
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME Yeah. I was introduced to decalling during a time when everyone just sort of agreed that sanding the printing off was the best option. I eventually found out about brasso, but it was a few years before the practice became more widespread.
Very cool @@RookisaLego
I've seen this on lots of figs but do you absolutely have to carve the hips?
Hi there yes they are absolutely essential if you are putting on leg decals
I learnt the hard way
so when you don’t carve your hips and you pose your legs the hip and leg piece are practically touching so that when you loss your leg the leg decal itself peels of as you go to pose the leg
I also thought you could get away with it but unless you don’t have any leg decals or your willing to only use the knee pad down of the decal then it’s an absolute must
Hope this helps :)

If you have any other questions come back anytime :)
I just got in a bunch of decal supplies from Jonak today and I don't have the thing to carve the legs what should I do.
Hi there I’m glad you’ve got some decal supplies from jonak my man really great place to get everything from there now for your situation I would highly recommend that you get a citadel mold liner remover or if you really want to because you don’t got it get a thick strong cardboard cutting knife and you must be very careful when carving the hips but even before you buy anything at all try investing to a electric nail filer dremel you can also find that on jonak or even just a hardware store that sells that pretty much that should do the best trick for a whole lot of decals my man
Or I have this one other suggestion which requires no carving of the hips but you will have to sacrifice that small line above the knee pad
Other than that that’s about the only things you can do
Hope this helped my man sorry for the really long conversation

I’m new to decalling and everyone seems to have a different preference for sealant. I’ve been told by many to use Glossy and a few others said use Satin. What makes you use Satin over Gloss?
Hi there great question I actually prefer any rust oleum brand Sealant or paint however I took satin over gloss as in New Zealand only x2 gloss is available and that’s too glossy in my opinion as supposed to other countries having clear gloss enemal which is just the normal gloss and not the x2 gloss
I prefer satin over gloss as it actually gives enough gloss without making it far too glossy but just giving that right amount of gloss that is why I prefer satin over gloss however I use Satin in a x2 format
However if you can find a rust oleum enamel clear gloss
www.rustoleum.com/en/product-catalog/consumer-brands/stops-rust-advanced/stops-rust-advanced-clear-enamel it looks like this then I’d say definitely go for that however if you have the choices only between a x2 ultra clear gloss and a x2 ultra clear satin I’d definitely say go for the satin as it gives that nice not too glossy look

Where do u get the hands from?
In terms of lego hands I get them from other figures that aren’t in need of hands or I simply buy them on BrickLink
Ok question. Why do you need to carve the hips
Great question so when you put on the leg decals on the legs and then you lift them up without carving the hip it will literally take off and destroy the decal when you don’t carve the hip it’s happen to me many times because I didn’t carve good enough you absolutely must carve the hips when putting leg decals so you avoid that leg being peeled off when raising the leg
But if you don’t wanna decal your leg you can just do that too or just cut of the little line above the knee cap that way you don’t have to carve your hips and it still looks pretty good
Sorry for the long explanation hope this helps my man
@@CLON3RAW3S0ME thanks
where do you get the helmet, what i mean is how do you get a helmet with out any print already on it, and if you want to can you take the print off a helmet like you did the torso?
and another question can you play with decaled figures?
@@harrythedrummer498 very good questions especially the second one that’s the first someone has asked that
So to answer where you can get blank helmets pretty much almost every where
If you want cheap knock offs you can go on AliExpress
HD bricks
Jonak toys
Thiccybricks
Wiseguycustoms
And a few more in terms of knock offs
You may also get blank helemts which are very good and good quality but not LEGO accurate at clone army customs Which are really nice
If you want pure LEGO blank helmets I would seek av figures
If you want specific resin and more higher quality but not LEGO I’d also recommend av figures
To answer your other question can you play with them
If it’s just the torso and helmet print yes
If it has any kind of leg decals or full 360 decals definitely no they are only for display/ stopmotion

Wait why do you carve the hips?
Thanks for the question so you carve your hips because if your using.a leg decal and then you put it on the leg and then you move the legs in the LEGO figure sitting position it’ll peel off as legos hips are very stiff so carving the hips will take that friction off and will leave a very small gap between the hips and the leg
But to avoid it all you have to do is cut your leg decal in half so it’s only the knee pad but it won’t look as good
But carving the hips is very essential

Or I just have to throw this figurine away...🙄
Or maybe I can re-usenit after removing all to try to get a brand blank figurine...

Hi there it depends if it’s like in towards the end of a video when I made a mistake with sealing there is no way to fix it if it looks smudged or if you put so much
Please don’t throw away the figures you can easily take off the decal and use the blank figure to try again
For sealing it should just be 1 second (or say one one thousand) for spraying forms. Distance of 15 to 20cm or 6 to 8 inches
Hope this has helped and the same thing happens to me so not to worry sometimes accessories such as clone back packs or Kama and pauldron can fix them by covering them

There easy and awesome looking and you don’t even have to carve or decal the legs
Is this as hard as it looks, or is there a simpler way to decal.
It is exactly like this it’s hard and at the same time not so much general skywalker it depends on your decals
Just decaling the torso and the helmet it’s not hard but lacks the detail
That’s your simplest way to decal
Just helmet and torso
Your normal difficulty would be helmet torso and legs which is shown here
And your hard version would be legs arms torso and helmet
Your sightly harder version is a standard 360 av figure decals
Your veteran difficulty would be one of the exclusive decals or a decal that is in all in one 360 degree colour decal such as black green yellow orange blue those are the hardest as you have to connect the decals perfectly
Unfortunately it doesn’t get simpler than this video
Unless you just wanna decal a torso then it’s the easiest or unless you use stickers instead of decals
Any questions not mentioned in this video or explained now just let me know and I’ll try my best to explain general skywalker

does anyone know a good substitute for brasso that is available in europe?
Hi there as long as it’s metal polish it’s a good substitute :)
why do i need to cut the hips? i dont understand
Hello there
So the reason you have to carve the hips is so that there is space between the hip and top of the LEGO leg piece as they are really close with each other and so the friction between the two would cause for your leg decal to peel off every time you move your leg so to avoid peeling off the leg decal you must carve the hips
Hope this helped any other questions feel free to ask :)

Hey, I don't have sealant and I got pretty worried when i saw some replies that you made saying that the figures wouldnt last very long. if you are just playing with the figure for example will the decal get damaged easily?
Great question happy you also looked at other replies I appreciate that
So yeah depends which decals av figures are unplayable unless their printed the 360 degree decals are also unplayable pretty much you have to be very fragile with them
If you have leg decals and you didn’t carve the hips properly and loosen the legs a little bit that’s also gonna tear if you play with em
So sealant pretty much seals your figures so how it works is it makes sure that the decals you have won’t ever start peeling from a corner which will cause the decal to curl over time or just a particular piece however in my opinion you can get out of this situation by not playing so roughly with them or touching the main decal parts
If you make sure that you have pressed the decal enough with the sponge than you may just be able to avoid sealant but you have to make sure you get the decal absolutely perfect on there
However like I’ve said in other videos it’s better to have it than to risk it
I understand money can be a problem for an already expensive hobby but I’d definitely get sealant
