My first playthrough I kept the book and it gave me a permanent buff! I’m in act 3 now and gave it to Astarion so I’m checking to see if he gets the buff or something else this playthrough! I’ll comment back and let you know when I figure it out!
I also really wonder if there will be a unique scene if Astarion is the hero's companion and not the original character. When we found the Т. Codex in the library, I mean. I still carry the book in my inventory separately from the stone. Just to watch it. But I will be very grateful for the information if someone manages to figure out this point first.
@@_Leewonder_ Same! I'm curious now because Astarion doesn't look like much of a reader. And if HE is invested so much into a tome of necromancy, then it's gotta be something!
How do you get Astarion to offer to take the book? Must he be high approval? Because he didn't speak at all the first time I picked it up. Felt sad cause I really wanted the funny cutscene.
In act 1 in the blighted village, one of the houses there has a hatch you can enter. It leads to a basement, go past the mirror and you’ll find the book on a trap. Defeat the spider boss in a different area of the goblin village and grab the purple gem from their nest and put it in the book. Sleep and you get this scene!
