Thanks Doug! I am setting up to clear out a culvert. It’s an 8 inch steel pipe and I’m sorting out the fittings now. Thank you so much it helps me understand where quarter inch and three eights fittings are supposed to be in my set up. I really appreciate your clear videos and I’ll be watching them frequently now for all my Pressure Washing needs!!! Cheers!

You said a quick video😂. This video I might be responsible for because I had contacted Doug for help setting up a pressure washer I purchased from him and he was more than willing to FaceTime me and help. The machine I purchased is excellent and the help I received was even better. The TEAM I contacted to send me all parts to hook up and use as a downstream are quick and excellent service. I even received a hand written thank you on the packing list. Great company down there. Highly recommend them.

Doug, thank you for this information. It is very thorough and you articulate the information concisely. Realizing that you have over thirty years experience in this industry and that at age 61, I am just now starting, you may take this information with a grain of salt. In assembling my rig, instead of a Hudson or Jobe float valve, I utilized the general pump float valve (YRG60FV). I used a 1/2 inch bulkhead drilled into the side of the tank, just below the top seam where it begins to turn the upper corner. I am able to get a full 7 GPM, unrestricted flow as with the restricted Hudson and am able to fill the tank to within 2-3 inches of the very top of the tank, unlike the 8-9 inches below the apex of the tank with the Hudson valve. With your myriad experience, you may have tried these and opted to use the Hudson valve, due to some inadequacy, of which I’m unaware. Thanks for all your wisdom. I have learned so much from your videos. Brian.

Hey Doug - quick question on the size of the buffer tank. I’m confused why you would need an entire 80 gallons to cook the pump. Wouldn’t a smaller one say 20 gallons be plenty of fresh cool water to cool the pump while you aren’t on the gun ??

    • @PressureCleaningSch

@@PressureCleaningSch Hey Doug, got a quick hosing question. I had this idea to use quick connection hose going from my bleach tank to my down stream injector on the pressure washer with a shutoff valve in the middle. Reason why I wanted a quick connect hose is because I still use my truck to haul dirt bikes once a month. Trying to make all hoses easy to disconnect for quick removal of everything in the truck bed.
Is this a bad idea ? Will the quick connections O-Rings go bad fast if used on the bleach line ?

@@PressureCleaningSch I am gonna buy some items from you monday
A Orange gun with the JRod with low and high long shooter soap nozzle and 2 high pressure nozzles.
      Downstream bypass.
      Downstream injector
Fitting for return water to tank.
Plug for the hole that is created from the return hose removed.
      Barb fitting for return barb.
Some soap to add to bleach tank
Maybe the check valve to replace the ball valve in the downstream injector.
I think that will get me going.
Not excited to walk back to the truck to stop bleach or rinse with high pressure but would like to have the option of getting off the gun and diverting my attention occasionally and perhaps rinsing with garden hose or ball valve. So the return water is important to prevent the overheating.

How hard would it be to put a thermostat on the bypass hose that actuates a switched electrical circuit to an audible alarm at an adjustable temperature point? Like the little thermal valve in some Honda engines that automatically opens the choke when the motor gets up to running temperature. Guess it would have to be battery powered on the buzzer, unless you have a belt drive washer and weld up a bracket to mount an alternator in the loop.

Your not going to overheat your pump by NOT pulling the trigger every 30 sec..lol..
I have pumps with thousands of hours with no return to tank bypass, the thermal relief will open and keep your pump cool and 99% of the time once you start running the machine, the relief will go back to normal and everything will be fine, occasionally i replace the thermal relief because it will start sucking air over time and cause reduced pressure and pulsing in the line.. most standard issue thermal reliefs are ⅜ btw 👍

I appreciate this post Squish because I just bought a GX200 with AR Pump and am thinking im gonna have to do this bypass when I don't own a tank to recirculate. I would be wasting so much water if I let it just go on ground. My AR does have relief valve. Thanks again

Depends on your pump AND on your unloader.
The pump will overheat and your valve assemblies will overheat, crack and your pump won't work correctly.

I can't watch this video. You're entitled to do things as you see fit but I can't look at a plug fitting on the output side for this long. It's just all wrong and if you ever tried to setup air compressor or even hydraulic hoses this way you'd see why.

    • @PressureCleaningSch
      @PressureCleaningSch  2 роки тому

That’s the cool thing w pressure washers. We can all set up how we prefer. W air compressors that’s a different thing and wouldn’t do it that way.

@@PressureCleaningSch And THAT is where it bothers me, inconsistency. If you have your pressure washer set up the way you do and you do the opposite with your air compressor it makes no sense! It's the equivalent of doing electrical with red wires being positive and black wires being negative on some projects and just reversing it with red being negative/ground and black being positive on others. If you're going to chose a scheme (especially one that goes against the norm) you should stick with it and go all in. At least then other people can understand how you've done things rather than perceive it as random chaos. Which brings me to your trigger gun. It violates your pointing in the direction of the water flow scheme, you have a coupler on both ends of the gun - well water goes out the wand not in from it so a plug fitting should be on the trigger gun with a coupler on the wand.
