Well, let's dive in and have some fun! This video is about dreaming about dresses and shoes and I need your advice on what to wear for my son's August wedding ( I know, again!) I show you my favorite new makeup and my new window treatments for my Cape Cod Style little home. Thank you for helping me pick just the right sheers.
I also address how last week's videos upset some and why I think that was.
Thank you for your prayers for Desi...he is so much better! He will be 11 years old in October and became ill from a neighbor giving him a homemade treat with peanut butter in it. We have to cut out most treats now.

I am 70. I grew up in a small town raised by my grandparents. From a social-economic standpoint we were all the same. We never went on summer vacation. I started working part time at 14 for clothes money. Your mother did what she had to do. Sounds like she was a pretty awesome woman. Two jobs. Women didn’t really work then and most people never got divorced. There is so much more for women to do now. We grew up in the same era. I see her as a strong woman trying to keep her family together.

Thank you for this video and for sharing your heart! My mother passed away at 84 last August, and I think I will always be grieving. She also worked so hard as a single mom, sacrificing everything for her children. I treasure the beautiful relationship we had, but I hope she truly knew how much I loved and respected her. ❤️
Boy Susan you hit the nail right on the head..... My mother used to tell me someday you will be my age and you will understand why I say and do what I do.... And boy was she right... I hear those words now in my 70s, and I pass them on to my daughter that doesn't always understand me. And I know someday she'll see also...😊

I miss my mother. She passed in 2022. She was in a nursing home, and I was unable to see her as often as I would have liked because of Covid in 2020. Also, my husband had a stroke and then later passed in 2020. My mother had dementia but I pray she knew I loved her. 😢

You can't go wrong with either dress, but I think dress #1 is so pretty and the gold sandals are perfect! Your garden is so beautiful, and you can tell you've put your personality into it. I like the sheer curtains. I have a suggestion for the curtains, if you put the rods up higher, it will make the room look higher. A touch of red, like in a painting, would look great with the navy wall. You have very good taste in decor and how you display everything is so perfect and charming.

My Mother lived with my husband and I for 15 years before she passed at 89. She would tell me things and didn’t pay much attention as she would give me glimpses into what I was going to go through as I aged!
Can’t for the life of me remember different things I have felt or gone through but when it happened I would say , “ oh yes … she told me about this!”

I am a single mom. My ex was very abusive. I have 3 daughters who have either completely cut me off, mostly cut me off, or the youngest who barely talks to me - and she still lives at home. I have one daughter who is very warm and loving. We have gone without all the vacations, and every extra thing every other kid has. We don’t eat out or go to movies or do anything fun because I’ve just been trying to survive. We aren’t going hungry and we have a home, so I’d say I’ve done really well. I feel like my kids (well, 3 of them) don’t appreciate anything I have done for them. I wonder if some day when I’m dead and gone, maybe they’ll realize that I worked my butt off FOR THEM. Who knows? It’s hard to imagine at this point. I don’t hold my breath waiting for them to see things in a different way though.
So sorry as a Mom of five adult married kids I have to tell you that sometimes it takes kids to actually grow up and marry and have kids of their own until they realize how hard parenting is. Hang in there , pray a lot and they will come around.

Blame me for leaving dad after 37 years of marriage (plus 5 years dating, engaged). 4 grandkids.:.I only met and knew 1 granddaughter. My ex of 44 years, died 2 years ago (Covid & diabetes). My youngest, a daughter RAN out of funeral home when she saw me. Two sons didn’t acknowledge me, say “hi” or wave. But my 40 year old twin sons? Reached out, hugged me ❤. But? Did not, would not invite me for coffee, nor to their homes. January 14, 2022. Last time I saw these two? Was October, 2012!!

Both dresses are gorgeous. I think the champagne for as formal of a wedding as it will be. Maybe the plum one for the rehearsal dinner or even change for the reception. My mom passed away when I was 14. I was very close to her but still more of a child. I wish I could have known her as an adult. I missed her so much at my weddings, my babies & now my grandchildren. I often wonder what our relationship would have been.
My mother did everything for me and I appreciate it. Thank god she is still alive. Now I do everything I can for her and my father to show them my love. ❤

My mother passed away and today we emptied out the last of her house. I walked out the door the door that I had walked into for 50 years and grown up in just crying. ❤ your words of how we don’t appreciate our parents and mothers while they’re here is so true.

Hugs to you, I cannot imagine leaving that house I was I guess somewhat lucky that my parents said goodbye to my childhood home and moved somewhere better for them and closer to their beloved cottage so I grieved the house and memories 40+ yrs ago, but their second home became just another gorgeous home with tons and tons of more memories made, when we did have to clean out that house it was hard of course but I think for you almost a double whammy sort of speak to lose both at the same time. Cheers to you and give yourself time to grieve it all and hopefully one year you can drive past and smile at those memories I know I did at both houses. Take care and thanks for sharing .

Susan those dresses are just so elegant and so you. You have to get both of them. When I went to a special wedding with two dresses I couldn't decide, I wore one to the church ceremony and the other to the reception in the evening. It solved the issue for me and I got to feel special in each of them. So how about thinking about that idea instead of having to chose 'the one'. Who says you can't wear two dresses and if you can't get home to change, take it with you and change the reception place. You are going to be the most lovely mother of the groom ever and your mother will be looking down on you and be sending her love to you and her grandson. What a special day it will be.
We are so glad to hear Desi is doing ok, now. I got such a scare as I was reading he was unwell. Try baking your own treats with ingredients you know he will be ok with. It isn't too hard and sure you could find some natural dog treat recipes online. Love to you and hugs to Desi. Keep well little one. You know, I love both dresses, but I think you’re right. And it’s not too dark because it’s trending now to wear navy now for weddings…especially gives a slimming effect!

So much good stuff to comment on! I like the first dress best, so elegant!. But remember, wear the one that you feel the most special in, the most beautiful and you will not go wrong. I love the rimless glasses. I used to wear them also until my face got so pale that I needed to add in some tortoiseshell glasses to give color to my face. You have a lot of pink in your face so I believe that the rimless glasses look very nice. I am a big blazer girl! Love the linen blazer, especially with the white sleeveless top and black pants. Very classic looking! Thank you for the tip on the red lipstick. I love red lipstick and as you say, it is very hard to find. I will try your suggestion! One of my favorites is Susan Graver from QVC! I love her dresses, especially because in general, her fabrics do not wrinkle and they last forever. On the less pricey side, I have gotten many beautiful garments at Goodwill. Some of my favorite pieces are from Goodwill. Happy week, everybody!

IT has a gold glimmer to it so you will shine but you will not overpower the bride which is so important and yet you will be alight in a shimmering color and with your wonderful way with makeup and your coloring-- it will be a memorable moment caught hopefully in a photo. I also have used The ROC eye cream for many many years around my eyes and around my mouth.. I also used to be a smoker for 40 years..
I also use their moisturizer....and rosehip seed oil.❤ Make up now I do the Halo glow it's light gives me a youthful shine and very sheer.. at my age in my 70s, that's all I really need... with a touch of blush and red lips & a little mascara ❤

Hi Susan, my mother was such a Beautiful and wonderful woman, she did a great job raising 10 child 4 boys and 6 girls, we appreciated her alot, my oldest brothers helped my mom raise us youngest which is me and my twin sister, and my youngest sister too, we always showed her how much help show her, so she could get her some time to herself, and also peace and quiet, 1 of my grandmother always helped raise us too, hugsssss ❤❤❤

I am now 62 years, and this is a new stage in my life. I am thankful for all the love I have received from my sister's family and friends. My husband and two sister passed in the last two years, and my only child died 14 years ago aged 16. She has her daddy with her now, but being completely on my own now I felt sad. Not for long, my beloved big sister's family showed me they cared on my birthday on the 18th, I am now the official oldest member of my family left. Yes, I appreciate my mother so much more now and I realise how selfless and loving she was, I wish I had told her I loved her more and how grateful I am for all she did for me. I cannot do that, but I say it anyway out loud to her, and I know she hears me. I have lost so many loved ones. One thing I do often, with all my remaining family, friends and acquaintances who show me kindness, is to tell them how much I appreciate them. Be thankful and count all my blessings. Always tell the people around you, that you love them, while you have them with you. Thats an important lesson I have learnt. Time passes by so quickly.

I am 85, still love my makeup and clothes! My skin is still good bc I never liked the heat much so stayed out of the sun! I like the plum choice! It looks more summery! Wore that color in August for a granddaughters wedding! Love your home! Wish I was better with plants and flowers but we have a cat who loves to chew and then upchucks,so..I also have sheers on my windows and for winter just double them up with a rod within a rod! Wish I could feel something for my mother but she was very narcissistic and into herself! Tried to do better but, as you said before, do we ever feel we were enough! My children grandchildren and greats are all wonderful but scattered and I miss the close family thing but as long as all is well, I'm happy!
I followed you and gave myself a beautiful dog (maltipoo) that has brought so much joy to my life.
I have a maltipoo as well and she saved me when my kids moved out of the house.. I was so down and depressed and felt empty like my purpose in life was over.. and then the Lord brought Sofie to my life and she was an Angel who has always been right by my side 💗

The 🍾 champagne dress hands down. 👏If there is to be maybe a dress change or a party after the wedding, then the black would be beautiful but I really think that you look like a million dollars in that champagne dress and --for wedding and for a mother-in-law-- it is ABSOLUTE perfection😊
