I received an Apple watch as a present from my daughter last night and I thought the band was a little tight. There is a second, longer, band in the box and I was able to swap bands with no problems in a quick moment thanks to this short, concise explanation.

Hmm ok, you may try going to an Apple store if you have one near you & see if they can diagnose it. Now it may cost a little money but it would be worth it in the long run.

The latch that holds the band in place may have become loose which will make the band its self not tight. You might try a new band to see if that fixes your issue.
