The train strike in the UK reminds me of the story where Japanese bus drivers went on strike but they still drove their routes. They just let the commuters/riders ride for free. That way the people who relied on the buses to get to school/work weren't inconvenienced but the bosses and CEOs weren't making anything.

as for Roe v. Wade, it should be up to the citizens of each state to decide and not the Federal government. That is what was overturned. @@riddlesjackstorm9003 It's probably not that easy to get a bettet paying job whenever you feel like it, or to get the funds to start your own company when you're not even getting enough pay to live on. It can also be hard to afford loans to study to get a higher prestige job.
If only a few companies gave their employes unlivable wages, those comapnies would perhaps eventually die out if people were able to find other, better employment. If it's the norm to pay such low salaries, you don't really have many options.
I would also say that it's unfair to expect there to be people who provide us with certain services in society, but then also say that these people, who work full time, don't deserve a pay they can live on. Here in Germany we had had from June 1871(!) till June 2022, so I'm talking about a time period of 151 years "only" 19 attacks on schools and universities with 89 casualties. Most victims were with illegal purchased semi automatic guns (and here, in these few cases, we are talking about mass shootings), in general these attackers used, due to our very strict gun laws, knifes, in one case a crossbow.

And, i might add, you can get guns here. Even Semiautomatics. You just need a reason and a clean background, and the reason must continue (Sport shooting, hunting and some smaller ones). People see you at these social events and if you become…strange…they inform the authorities and your guns are gone. Same goes when you stop hunting/sport shooting, etc. the club informs the authorities and they ask you: so…for what purpose do you still need guns? And if you don’t hsve a recognized one you need to give them up. It’s a harsh system, sometimes even to harsh in my opinion, especially if you look at our neighbors (Switzerland) with their much more liberties, but at least it protects the people, gun owners included. And yes, some parties want to expell guns completely, like the Green Party.
