Thanks so much for making these connections clear. These echoes are so important. It’s like Jesus said: “These are the very scriptures that testify about me.”
Carmen, that is an amazing conflation of Messianic texts & their rich meaning in their fulfillment in Jesus Messiah (Luke 22:44). Thanks for taking the time to develop this parallel. Thanks for citing also the Septuagint reference with it. Great & concise study. Jesus is clearly glorified. Lord bless you, Carmen! ✝📖😇🎓💻❤
Wow!!!!!!!! We don't see those details; We think we already know the narration of the passage, so we read through it. We often forget that the Bible is a giant mine. We need to be more careful when reading the Bible; that way, we will find those gold nuggets. God bless everyone in this channel.
That truly was fun! An insight I would likely never have grasped if you hadn't pointed it out! Thank you Carmen. Dear Lord please show me the secret things in Your word...and may Your Presence be with me all the days of my life. Grant that I may walk with You...in Spirit and in Truth.
Love it when OT scholars talk about the NT! Thanks, Carmen. I had noticed the connection between Matthew 2 and Exodus before but not the plural in verse 20.
Thank you for that! I had noticed in Matthew a few years before how Matthew had almost portrayed Jesus' life as a recapitulation of Israel's story. Nice to know that it wasn't just my imagination or that I was reading too much into the text. I now have an OT scholar to back me up! LOL!
Identifies Israel as His first born son... That's actually pretty important to know... Never knew that until today... Ty for taking the time to put into video what you have been studying and thinking about
The flight is the similarity between the Son of God and Israel. The difference is that Jesus the Anointed found his enemy in the house of Israel by a despotic tetrarch who did not expect the Messiah, because being king he considered himself "the messiah". Any mention of another Messiah was in the crosshairs of being an opponent. His paranoid anger led him to order an infanticide. How sad it is to find your enemy in your own house by fallen gods who are the ones who now govern us. A new covenant was urgently needed, the religious and political corruption of Second Temple Judaism was unsustainable.

This is great. Thank you Dr. Imes. I had not seen the use of the plural before in the angelic word to Joseph. That's amazing.
You are very welcome!

Yes, in Exodus 4:22.
