Vauxhall-Opel are right to celebrate 40 years. Also, I've noticed that for the last few years, the last couple of generations of Corsa have really become popular with young drivers, like more than before, and I reckon this is because they look bloody great. Like baby musclecars with snazzy interiors, sharp alloys, body kits, go-faster stripes. That's how it should be done! They look amazing! The tartan socks with 80s Vauxhall logo are cool and hilarious though. Cars should be fun, and car owners have more if a sense of humour than car companies think. Well done is all I can say. The crease down the bonnet is a big GM trait that fortunately has been carried over to the new PSA models, and the side bulges go back to the Vauxhalls from the early 1900s.

The Corsa B is being unfairly judged by history, in my view. I lived in Australia at the time, and owned an SB Holden Barina, which was a rebadged Corsa B. Admittedly we got bigger engines and a better ride/roadholding combination compared to the Europe, but compared to the Suzuki-based Barina that preceded it, the SB Barina felt much sturdier with big car road manners and refinement. I've grown up to BMWs now, but I still miss my little Barina.
I got my license on a 08 or 09 Corsa. My mom has an 05 Astra. At the time both felt quite similar aside from seating position with the Corsa being a little bit less comfortable but I oddly liked the Corsa, I wasn't a fan of the Astra at the time although it's grown on me over the past 6 years since I legally became a driver. I'm a big fan of the electric Corsa but I think it's a little bit too complex for what the line is meant for. The driving assist stuff is overkill unless you're on the road all day which let's be honest is a stretch for the ICE version, the digital cluster display doesn't look good with the round plastic frame, the rear window could be a little bit bigger negating the need for a rear camera, the rear door frames are too bulky and makes entering the already cramped rear cabin section worse, and the electric finger brake button kills the fun. Some of these things could be fixed for cheap or even make the car cheaper by a few euros but it would make it better.
@@nathandepasquale9571 wanted Speelines on mine but need the rear arches rolling if I remember so kept the original Ronals on mine. Put better brakes and exhaust on it.

I’m shocked!!! Based on the Peugeot 208 but doesn’t have the dreaded 206 indicator stalks! There are a fair few details in the interior that hark back to GM Vauxhalls 😆
there's a brittish mith that says this car is German. that brazilian Chevrolet the australian Holden nihon Suzuki deutsche Opel usaer GMC along with the Astra, this was a car for the world.
For me, I genuinely like the new Corsa and it’s probably better built than the Fiesta but I would opt for the Fiesta, countless people online and on reviews have complained about ongoing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto issues in all current gen Stellantis products which is a shame.
True story. It was my first car. I drove it from my gran house to make an insurance. From there i went to work. ... from the moment i sat on the car for the 1st time til i roll the thing? 1hour and 23 minutes. To be 18 and an idiot...
Only got a little way in before having to comment, has any research even been done here at all? The Nova SR had a 1.3 and the a 1.4 72bhp engine. But power was lower in those days purely because engines didn’t rev as high, still had good torque.

I love this channel and I think Rory is superb, but I just can't bring myself to watch 15 minutes of Corsa...😂
Nice cars, good history, love
Absolutely loved my Nova Gsi (with redtop and speed lines) in the 90s (if you know, you know). Enjoyed this 👍🏼
Had a silk violet GSi back in 1995. Absolutely loved that little car. Owned it for 6 years. Unfortunately started to rot so had to go.
@@redlineste4283 same colour as mine 😊
@@nathandepasquale9571 wanted Speelines on mine but need the rear arches rolling if I remember so kept the original Ronals on mine. Put better brakes and exhaust on it.
Rory what watch are you wearing there? is it the Tudor black bay pro?
7:36 my first car brings back memories

Absolutely brilliant Rory, didn't mention General Motors once.🤭
It’s sad that the new one isn’t GM. They had issues but they made some good cars we all knew and loved like these old Vauxhall’s
We had corsa wagons in Brazil too. Gen B
I learned to drive in a corsa D and the went and bought a D s.e in 2019, I loved it, the interior felt quit up market and was full of kit, the suspension was made of chocolate unfortunately so it didn't last long
Anyone else notice during talking about the corsa b shots of side of the car was showing a c
My Corsa B, diésel, one of the first registered in May 1993, is still going strong. (Well, it just failed its Mot...:-/ needs TLC. )
My little corsa b is my baby. I'll never get rid of him until he's irreplaceable
Great video
In USA the Corsa B became the Chevy and I drove the pickup version.
2:43 slagging off an old car for having a tape deck? What did you expect? A 500Gb SSD?
Pretty sure it's a joke
It's a joke Darren.
The mk2 and mk3 are the best in my opinion.
A chassis (nova)
B chassis (Corsa)
C D and E chassis 2003 to 2018
Corsa F chassis (inc electric)
the corsa c d and e have different chassis
Love the idea of a Corsa VXR-e! A grown up hooligan... 🤣😂
I’m shocked!!! Based on the Peugeot 208 but doesn’t have the dreaded 206 indicator stalks! There are a fair few details in the interior that hark back to GM Vauxhalls 😆
That Nova SR and the current Corsa have bags of character, the generations inbetween were all just dire porridge.
These were named Holden Barina in Australia, when we still made cars here.
The new one looks good, but we won't likely see it.
So sad, really feel unfortunate to now be able to drive and it's once Holden is gone. The vf commodore was a joy to drive.
Test with pétrol engine for the corsa F Will be better for compare with the old corsa
The Corsa gen E was the car I passed my test in 😁😅😷
there's a brittish mith that says this car is German.
that brazilian Chevrolet
the australian Holden
nihon Suzuki
deutsche Opel
usaer GMC
along with the Astra, this was a car for the world.
For me, I genuinely like the new Corsa and it’s probably better built than the Fiesta but I would opt for the Fiesta, countless people online and on reviews have complained about ongoing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto issues in all current gen Stellantis products which is a shame.

I drive a 2007 Corsa B 2 door, very light on fuel and reliable car , I always though it was German🤔
True story. It was my first car. I drove it from my gran house to make an insurance. From there i went to work. ... from the moment i sat on the car for the 1st time til i roll the thing? 1hour and 23 minutes. To be 18 and an idiot...
Nice
Only got a little way in before having to comment, has any research even been done here at all? The Nova SR had a 1.3 and the a 1.4 72bhp engine. But power was lower in those days purely because engines didn’t rev as high, still had good torque.
