All the time, I think about everything I can't say, what I have to keep in,
And by doing this, my thoughts only get more complicated and deepen.
Soon I hope to find out who I am, and what I am meant to become,
I want to know where I'm going, I don't need to be reminded of where I came from.

+Chu Hao Yen I like it. However, this seems to have a bit of predictable rhyming... Or at least to me. It is well written in my opinion though. My songs are literally like nothing I've ever heard, so you don't have to take my advice if you don't want to. But what I do is look at my songs as poetry. Especially when writing them and just like poets do I try to find the right word based on the feelings people might get from it and to make sure that goes along with my idea or story I'm trying to convey. I often think a long time before I put a word in and I'll even go to dictionary.com to see if there is a different words with similar or the exact same meaning as the previous word that I discarded. :) look more towards the meaning and emotion than the structure and rhymes. Usually I try words that aren't perfect rhymes, such as now, down, out.

I'm no expert on songwriting, by any means, but I would just like to say something to all of you out there interested in songwriting. A lot of great songwriters advise not to force rhymes. Let the words flow out naturally and don't try to force them to sound what you've been taught is "perfectly structured." Just listen to your heart, not your brain.
I 100% agree! Your songs do not have to follow a perfectly structured rhyme scheme to be a great song
Listening to my heart won't make me millions. A good song with great lyrics will.

Playing on the radio that is my mind
I enjoyed this! You can tell by the structure that you've put a lot of thought into this. Lyrically what stood out to me was the human sense of hearing. You talk about hearing them on a cassette, them leaving a message on an answering machine... so it's almost like your demonstrating how hearing this persons voice is affecting you. I liked the reference of your mind being a radio too. It gives this image of your thoughts being played over and over again. Well done, keep writing!
Its greaaat one tip tho: you could also after it slows down speed it up again and add another chorus which is at normal speed fully.

+Alex Viza One method that works with me is simply speaking a sentence and pulling a melody from that. For example, if i say" Fall is my favorite season" i can take the syllables and clap them out for a beat or take the letter flow depending on if it goes up or down in pitch.

I have been working on my singing a lot as well as my confidence and I was really happy with my voice, but when I started recording on the iPhone voice memos it sounds horrible. It's really dropped my confidence and I don't song in front of anyone. I love singing but what if I really am terrible..?!

What sucks is that, I don't have an instrument to practice my songs on, like for the beat and how my songs would sound like besides using my voice. I've already written tons of songs, but I don't have an instrument, and I can't find any good apps that I can add beats and instruments. Any tips anyone?
