I'm sad for young lesbians that The Palms, Michelle's XXX, Jewel's Catch One, and Girl Bar / Club Skirts aren't open anymore. Those were great (safe) spaces for lesbians to party and network. Now...there's just the Abbey...and only on certain days really. I do admire this generation's ability to discuss their feelings. You guys are a hoot. We, sweethearts are difficult to find. I learned to detach and go with the flow. Most of the time people just wanna hook up. I the only piece of advice I can offer is, set boundaries and say what are your intentions. -A born and raised LA native.

I know the L Word was real! I know that wealthy LA lesbians are living like that. The creators wrote this show from there experience. Some people said the L Word is fake but it’s not. Even wealthy lesbians of color are living the L Word lifestyle.

I’m not from that area but I’ve heard many things about the lifestyle of these affluent LA lesbians. The show mimics them. Look at Kehlani, Amber’s Closet and her friends. The lesbian screen writers who are writing the show Marja Lewis Ryan along with the cast Kate Moennig, Leisha Hailey, etc. It’s real family.
I honestly wish there was Taste events in NYC cause it’s so hard to find events with people that look like me and the bars again are cater too the white gays even during pride it’s just terrible 😭 I want to hear Ratchet music and shake my ass not step on eggshells around people who make me feel like a fetish or unwelcome. like it is scary 😂
Planning on moving to LA in April from PA. Moving for a lot of the reasons stated at the end and throughout the video. also I'm a ceramicist with a smoke ware brand and PGH isn't the best place for that. Watching this was definitely interesting to hear from two people in entertainment. I've been curious to know what artist outside of the entertainment industry are like? also what's it like making a living as a visual artist like a ceramicist. If there are any folks in the comments who have any insight, feel free

I’m a commercial dancer,pole and burlesque performer, and pole instructor looking to get book, like everyone else and their mom. I’ve also come to find how tired of Philly I am😂 And the dating pool in the queer scene here forsure has piss in it. This gave me a bit of insight in what tf I’m getting myself into and I love y’all both🫶🏽
I will say that this isnt just true for LA from experiencing a few cities in the UK with big lesbians scenes it's very similar culture and relate to some of this 😂
Same in Berlin, I can relate to the hyper well dressed queers, to the huge queer scenes that still feel interconnected and small, to the shallow dating because there’s so many options, to the lesbian friend groups that have all fucked each other. Same here.
