  • Headed back to the prosthetist to try the next test socket and my new LEG for the first time!!! Well, I didn’t know until about 30 minutes in to our visit if I was going to stand up today, but the anticipation made the excitement that much greater. Standing and taking a few steps on my new leg for the first time is a day that will never be forgotten. Thank you so much for following this journey with me friends!!

I am an above the knee amputee and I can relate to how this lady felt when she first stood with her prosthesis and then when she took her first steps. I am not able to put it into words but it was exhilarating!!!!!! Best of luck to you!

God bless you my fellow warrior woman! You will have many ups and downs, but never lose sight of hope. There is always hope. Every day you start anew. Be kind and patient with yourself and the circumstances. Healing is not linear, and doesn’t make any sense. Grief flows in waves. I would love to know how you are doing! If you see this, please update me! All my love ❤️

lost my leg in March 2021. started pt in June after 5 weeks and using forearm crutches tp get to the ball I was able to golf in a amputee golf outing. played 18 holes and was sore as hell the next day. watched your video and had the same enthusiasm and walked with pride knowing that i will some day walk with out the the crutches. I too am an aka. congratulations i'd send you a video of one of my golf shots, but don't know how to do that. the other amputees were amazed at what I was able to accomplish in just 5 weeks. Like you it is all about attitude and the willingness to accomplish a goal. ps I turn 71 in September and am a Vietnam vet who suffered for many years before a blood clot took my leg. Haven't felt this good in 10 years. Everyone tells me they have't seen me smile in years.

I am a left BKA since 2004...you made me laugh as I remember having a “barn full of” left shoes that were never worn!! There are some milestones ahead for you that are so awesome-like walking out of the prosthetist office with your new leg, walking for the first time without crutches or cane, etc. Great times ahead for you!! If you have any questions /concerns that I can help with, let me know!!

lil advice not that you will but practice getting up off the flower with the leg on for when you due take a fall you can get up easier i tripe on a wheel of a walker I used at 1st so i went to Kans and watch out for rugs they move or can make the foot drag.. and you can go down, well 2 times in 5 months and now walking out my garden and dinging holes for plants.. Keep it up you both..

@Jeff Rovello Hey Jeff I hope you don’t mind me butting in and asking a question or two . Man I am extremely desperate. I am 2 years post amputee today as a result from a catastrophic car accident. I am left leg AK and I am on my fourth docket which is a revo fit and it is not working either. My prosthetic provider labeled the revo fit as an adjustable socket which I agree some revo fits are but mine only has one window that I can tighten by turning a knob, the deal is if my residual limbs swells bigger than the socket I’m screwed and that’s what it was doing before I was fitted with the revo fit and we ordered it. Now I am stuck with it because it was custom made and I feel helpless. I feel that my guy deceived me. I have a great keg in the ottobock C-Leg but as anyone who is an amputee knows a good leg is nothing without a comfortable socket. I am definitely considering changing companies , I am currently at a local rehab clinic, Methodist Rehab and man I just don’t know where to turn or what to do. I’m to the point where I’m ready to give up . I’m so sorry to bore you Jeff, I’m just trying to find anyone that could possibly help me. Anything would be greatly appreciated, again, thanks so much in advance Jeff.

All these years of amputees , and this is all they can come up with . . . a bucket on a stick ??? If I am gonna walk again , they'll have to give me something better than "this" ! At least give me something that looks somewhat real ! But I would have to be rich lol
