how to make a cranksahft from a round billet bar on a single machine, all operations are made on a single machine. Incredible machine! Austrian made, the real deal on heavy and serious machining, CNC with Siemens, real milling live tooling, plenty of optionals, custom made machine for every needs, forget about similar machines, they are just TOYS and NOTHING compare with WFL.

I never cease to be amazed at the possibilities of this machine. I remember an engineer of Hembrug (with whom I was working on the development of their large 4-axis ultra-high precision vertical lathe), he said that the complexity of CNC programming of the WFL is just mind-boggling compared to their machine.
This WFL M60 Millturnis a Very nice machine. There are many of special machining cycles like we can see in the video. I made also customized cycles for these machines. I did this so well that I made my business out of it. Now I do offer operator and programmer training for these machines!
Incredible just how much work goes into this shaft. i suspect there will come a day when these shafts will no longer be made since electric cars will be more and more in demand. You'd think that oil companies would come to terms with it and invest in Raphial Morgado's mighty engine.
the crankshaft is probably for a prototype engine.These kind of machines are particularly useful as they eliminate a lot of special machinery for very small quantity items.Definately this machine cannot be used for mass production of the item shown in the video,special machines have to be used

@StickerMedia It's not done yet, it goes to a grinder after this operation
cranks for mass productions are forged, then machined on dedicated machines, (usually more than one), main reason, keep price low. Cranks that cant be forged, (special steels or low production numbers), need to be done this way, machined down from round bar, if this is the case, then you will not find any other machine that's capable to do the job like this. Its not the cheapest way to make a crankshaft, but this are not cheap cranks anyway!
@KEVINPOTTS1000 You replace it, step the program back to where the breakage happened, and start the program from that point. If you damaged the part, then it will have to be repaired offline or scrapped if too badly damaged. Thats the price of manufacturing!

3:05... WOW! Haha and 5:32, it hobs the gear at the end of the shaft too! Fuck me, I gotta get me one of these machines. 2 axis lathes just ain't cutting it after seeing this :D

@stupidYOOTUBE car crank shafts are made a lot faster and they have special machines. this is probabaly a crakshaft for a boat or excavator or something else.... as far as i know ;)
