I was 13 when police in Northern California pulled out my dreads and threw me on a bench for being out past curfew... in a friend's backyard. This doesn't surprise me.
This is deplorable and I have no issue with people who record police in public places performing their duties. But every "auditor video" I have seen is actually properly called "provocateur video" -- they go into sensitive areas to film and keep filming nothing at all becoming aggressive and irritating the members of the public or claiming they are gathering "news footage" despite nothing newsworthy happening. And these are people who often claim the police have no authority, so called sovereigns. They invariably choose sensitive places, not just public areas, but government buildings including in one case a jail which they ended up entering as prisoners because they refused to believe police when they said they were on restricted property. In another case they chose to film over thirty minutes of nothing happening in the lobby of a VA Health Facility, and when finally asked to leave (how much news footage can you gather of nothing, where you expect nothing? Unless you are there to film until you MAKE something happen -- which is not news reporting it's provocation) they began to use foul language creating a further disturbance, then heralded the result as some kind of expose. If you are going to 'audit' then you have a plan as to why taht place, and it has to be more than "lets see what happens when we make me people concerned about what we're doing there."

It's a dog with a mental capacity of a 4 year old so once they lock its animal institution and instinct. It was doing what it thought was best to protect the officers. The general public needs training on what to do when issued police commands and yes there's some bad officers and we need additional training and transparency for officers. Go watch the actual body camera footage. I'm critical of cops myself but the officers didn't leave the kid to freeze on the cruiser. It was on so he was warming up while they tried to find his mom and where the cart came from. And they only did that so they wouldn't have to take him to Juvenile Corrections and could instead just drop him off back home with his mom

This must stop. This is ridiculous. This is why I am supporting the people who go out and record cops and do audits.
This is deplorable and I have no issue with people who record police in public places performing their duties.
But every "auditor video" I have seen is actually properly called "provocateur video" -- they go into sensitive areas to film and keep filming nothing at all becoming aggressive and irritating the members of the public or claiming they are gathering "news footage" despite nothing newsworthy happening. And these are people who often claim the police have no authority, so called sovereigns. They invariably choose sensitive places, not just public areas, but government buildings including in one case a jail which they ended up entering as prisoners because they refused to believe police when they said they were on restricted property.
In another case they chose to film over thirty minutes of nothing happening in the lobby of a VA Health Facility, and when finally asked to leave (how much news footage can you gather of nothing, where you expect nothing? Unless you are there to film until you MAKE something happen -- which is not news reporting it's provocation) they began to use foul language creating a further disturbance, then heralded the result as some kind of expose. If you are going to 'audit' then you have a plan as to why taht place, and it has to be more than "lets see what happens when we make me people concerned about what we're doing there."

The audit approach is counterproductive. Antagonists and 1st Amendment rudeness only creates butt-hurt officers now primed up for retaliation toward the public.
Your 17 year old child will be driving alone some dark desolate road and "fail to dim" headlights....start talking that "name and badge number" bull-roar....you'll get the worst phone call of your life. It is evidence tampering which is a felony. Any tampering of any evidence camera, and police who confiscate private cell phones and/or turn off their body and dash cameras are criminals committing a felony. This won't stop until the district attorney's office and the courts treat police crimes as crimes. If police officers who commit crimes are charged and convicted of felonies, they will lose their right to carry a firearm and won't be able to work at another police department.

It's a dog with a mental capacity of a 4 year old so once they lock its animal institution and instinct. It was doing what it thought was best to protect the officers. The general public needs training on what to do when issued police commands and yes there's some bad officers and we need additional training and transparency for officers. End of the day we are all Human and humans are far from perfect and can never be expected to be perfect. We can definitely do better as a society and there's many ways to do that in that process many freedoms will be taken away and that's probably not a bad thing.

Go watch the actual body camera footage. I'm critical of cops myself but the officers didn't leave the kid to freeze on the cruiser. It was on so he was warming up while they tried to find his mom and where the cart came from. They turned it off for 5 minutes so the kid would tell them the truth after he lied multiple times about where his mom was. And they only did that so they wouldn't have to take him to Juvenile Corrections and could instead just drop him off back home with his mom

Knowing that the metaphysical realm has a lot of disrespect for the truth of service to your civil service duties ! Bill the governor for all violations that end in Y! And be good to your family and friends and pedestrians they pay your income! Call an Uber or open an account with the transportation department for access to fund for the civil hazard of drink and emotional outcry of pan and suffering!!! Knowing that they are in some kind of trouble! At least consider their needs before arresting them!!!

After this there was an investigation into the department. The Chief resigned, 3 Police were fired and 1 resigned 👍🏻👍🏻
Props to the journalist 👏🏾, he is fave of mine....deserves an award for all the work he does. This also shows why it's hard for good cops to be just that, get their own in check. Cannot believe dude got a promotion instead of getting reprimanded.
And a much higher performance evaluation than the other officer who reprimanded him and actually took charge of the situation with the 13 year old boy like a real peace officer.
