This is a compilation of the key moments from my 6-part manual swap series in my LEXUS GS400. Think of it as a compilation or a teaser, which quickly goes over the big steps involved in a swap of this nature. In my 6-part series I plan, install a Supra clutch pedal, prep the AR5 manual transmission, remove the auto transmission, install the ATEMU and give you my driving impressions. I thoroughly enjoyed the driving clips at the end. You may have the best sounding Gs400 out there. Its a perfect balance between intake and exhaust sound. Not too much and not too little. With the manual swap I hope that thing can break into the 4 second range to 60 if not low 5’s

@@ForwardMomentum You may have one of the faster non boosted GS400’s out there. Id imagine with the PPE headers you may break into the 4’s and possibly keep up with the boosted ones depending on their setup. That’s a car id keep for a long time.
@@machedari I have tried at least 10X to get a PPE sponsorship and they just stopped responding to me. I agree, headers are probably worth at least 20whp with a tune. Perhaps more.
@@ForwardMomentum Sucks the sponsorship didn’t work out. The early buyers for the gs400 and ls400 PPE headers bought them for way less like around $700-800 I heard. We just missed out. I was thinking of buying them recently but I’ve got a lot to fix on my Ls400. I’ll get them soon, or I may end up getting a ISF or a IS500 when I get a new job.

Thanks! The ATEMU doesn’t fix what the manual swap removes (cruise control being one of them). My friend with the same car and mods figured out a way to get CC to work, basically bypassing the ATEMU funny enough. I may tackle this in a future episode. 👍

I want to ask since i want to manual swap my GS300 and i dont want to cut the center console and put the handbrake in there since im not interested in it i want to keep the stock one how did you managed to keep the pedal parking brake with the clutch? is the first car i saw that still have the parking brake in its original place. is it difficult?

Would this work the same for the housing space for the t56 transmission swap with a 2001 gs300? Trying to have something that holds good power without that much banging out the space for the 2jzgte vvti need something reliable up to at least 600 hp you know
The principles are the same. The T56 is a monster. You’ll have to do some research on how to get the correct adapter. Warning: that trans is insanely expensive!

After all the modifications you have done do you know the difference in 0-60, torque and HP from stock to now? Also I used to have a GS300, I really want the Toyota aristo with the GTE engine but wouldn’t like driving on the left side. How easy would it to just engine swap? Or would you just recommend getting the V8?
Sorry, I haven’t dyno’d it yet. Stock the GS400 puts down about 240whp. I would expect my car is around 260whp. The GTE drivetrains are ridiculously expensive now. It would be way cheaper to manual swap a GS300 and turbo it with about 6PSI max.

I have an entire series dedicated to your question. Obviously some things are different with the 300 vs the 400 but the general concept is the same.
Do you know what that little yellow unit is in front of the shifter when the trims are off
No, not off hand. Yellow is typically associated with the SRS/airbags somehow. However, in this case it might be related to the headlight leveling or yaw of the car (VSC).

Do you mean the entire assembly or the pedal pad? The pedal assembly is covered in episode 2; Supra MKIV.
how much of the parts and process work for a swap into a GS300?
Episode 1 of my 6-part series does a good job of trying to answer this. There’s simply not an easy answer. You have to put a lot of work into it.

Hypothetically, if you were to do this job again for somebody else how much would you charge?
It took me probably 40-60 hours. So I would say $5K and I might consider it. It was pretty miserable though and I had to drive 240miles total for the drive shaft work.
