      bawad motor thanks, I feel like I have a new toy. The thing was broke for 15 months. I had to get motivated to work on it. Now I have been mowing down the trees that were trying to take over. That video should be coming out soon. Thanks for the comment.

    I'm dreading replacing my clutch, but it's starting to slip in high range so it needs to be done. Your video was really great.. and you added a little levity which was pretty funny. Although you obviously know your stuff, it still looked like a huge job.

    Good work. That's a weird texture on the flywheel. Did you have it turned on a lathe or something? Tell me you replaced those wire nuts...

    • @chud327
      @chud327  7 років тому

      That weird texture was what it was like when I opened it up. I probably should have had it turn, but it is working great non the less. I still have the wire nuts, I will probably change them when they stop working. Thanks for watching and I have another tractor video coming out soon, I hope to hear from you again.

    Holy crap this is a huge job... nice work man. This is way beyond my ability. We're having some potentially serious issues with our Massey Ferguson 360. I can't get it into gear anymore - AND oil of some kind is blasting out at the inside of the right front tire (and it's leaking through it to the other side, which I had never seen before. Must be air pressure). I think that leak is the cause of a line blowing out - must be power steering? But, it seemed to coincide with the PTO and the clutch not disengaging. But, after watching this I'm thinking that must be a coincidence? Ugh...

    • @chud327
      @chud327  8 років тому

      +GregJoshuaW it sounds like it is all falling apart. My clutch went out right before the power steering line. As for my clutch, is was also not disengaging. I was out plowing one day and I pushed the clutch and it kept going. I finished the job by shutting if off and restarting to change gears. And yes it is a Pretty big job, thanks for the comment.

    Have a 1494 davidbrown case tractor, it has a new clutch just put in, we are having clutch issue's with it. Driving in high gear, it seems to go but going to a slop, it seems like the clutch goes in? I have call the place where we have gotten the tractor and they didn't want to say to much about it but said it needs adjustments inside the clutch. We have to gear down a lot on this tractor

    • @chud327
      @chud327  8 років тому

      That does sound like you clutch is slipping, maybe you could go online and find out how to adjust the clutch. It may be adjusting the arms on the pressure plate or it might be just adjusting the clutch pedal linkage. If it is the linkage, that would be a pretty thing to adjust. I need to adjust my PTO clutch, but I haven't go around to it yet. Thanks for watching and good luck.

    My David brown tractor starts to move forward when I'm in gear and my foot all the way down on the clutch pedal. What could be the problem? The clutch, the pressure bearing? Can I adjust it somehow without taking the tractor apart?

    • @chud327
      @chud327  4 роки тому +1

      Mine did the same thing right before I made this video. I was plowing and pushed the clutch and it kept going. If your happened all the sudden, it is probably the same problem. There is a way to adjust the clutch and you should look into that first. Good luck and let me know what you find out. thanks for watching.

      Hey Tony, I have a JD 410D backhoe and had to replace the alternator belts (2 ea.) Disconnecting the hydraulic pump shaft and radiator shroud is a major pain not to mention time consuming. I purchased 1/2" link belts from Harbor Freight of all places and fed them through without taking anything apart. I coupled them back together, adjusted the tension. This was supposed to be my quick temporary in the field fix, but, they've been going strong for over two years and counting.

    Thank You for your Video My MF175 clutch just quit disengaging I thank it is a broken fork, What was your problem? I am not looking forward to that job it will be a chore for me with the physical problems with my hands I will have to get help, I have done lots of tractor repairs in my life but this will be my first tractor split how long did the job take?
    again Thanks.

      +David McMullin One of my forks had the pin come out of the pivot point. I put it back together, but when putting the tractor back together I broke the input shaft. After that, I lost interest and had to collect money for new parts. My tractor was probably split in half for a year. It was a lot of the fear of the unknown that I had to get over. I could probably do it again in a weekend, now that I know what I am doing. I just fixed my fuel distributor leaks, again, I had to get over that fear of the unknown. I will probably do another video of my tractor in a month or so or painting, oil change, fuel leak fixes and so on. I hope to hear from you again and good luck with your project.

    I'm about to tackle this on my jd 2010. I can't switch gears while it's running. Push the clutch down it doesn't slow down. Just grinds. I have to start it while in gear.

      @chud327  5 років тому +1

    Nice work. We have a Massey Ferguson MF 1080 do you think the procedure is about the same for fixing that clutch? Looking for the shop manual currently.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  7 років тому

      I don't know much about a 1080, I googled them and I could see some similarities and some differences. I would hope that it would be very close to the same process. Maybe mass production and assembly lines will lead to some of the pieces being the same. I hope you find a shop manual. I couldn't have done it with out mine, which I have now misplaced. Hopefully it will not be breaking any time soon. Thanks for watching and good luck.

    Great video. Question. I have a 253 Massey and depressing the clutch does not allow it to go in gear, just grinds as if the clutch lever is not working at all,, could it be rust on the clutch plate? The clutch stopped working about last year after it was out on my lawn infront of the lake for 4 weeks where its wet and damp, morning dew. Same thing and then it just started working again and last week I left it outside of the garage for 5 days when it was damp and rainy.. Could the plates be rusty and it just need a good run? I use it very rarely for snow blowing and putting the dock in etc,, see's very little work. What are your thoughts please and thanks.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  7 років тому

      If it wasn't working, but then magically started working, I would guess you are right about the rust. I have an old '64 pickup truck and after it sits for a year or two, the clutch gets stuck. We start it in gear and get on it while holding the clutch in. It always breaks loose. I would put yours in gear, high gear and try starting it with the clutch fully depressed. I hope this helps and you can get back to work.

    • @punishr36
      @punishr36 7 років тому +1

      Just went out and messed with it. How I got it to work was putting the High/low range in neutral and shifting it from 1st to reverse with the clutch in and then out and it free'd it up I'm guessing as the clutch started working again. I'll take her for a rip in 4th. Thank you for your response/input, Cheers!

    • @chud327
      @chud327  7 років тому +1

      I am glad it worked out for you! I would tell you to squirt some oil on it to keep it from rusting, but then you might complain that you clutch is slipping. Hopefully you will always be able to get it unstuck. Happy tractoring and thanks for the reply.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  7 років тому +1

      I would guess that the clutch is stuck. I have a 64 pickup, that when it sits, the clutch gets stuck. You have to get on it with the clutch in, eventually it will break loose. I would suggest driving it around with the clutch mashed, if you can do that safely. If that doesn't work, pull something to give it a little load again with the clutch mashed. Maybe you could pull someone in a car and have them mash the brakes while you pull them with the tractor clutch in. I hope this works for you and thanks for watching.
