PRECISELY FOREVER21!

.. loïc is an OG... he understands fashion is supposed to be fun and not serious... he "likes" everything because he knows someone put their heart into designing it.... and he respects that fact..and celebrates the process of creation / design wether or not he,d actually wear it or like....s the garment personally.... im a stan obvi .. his first doc series for Chanel from the early 2000s is a classic ... broke the mould.... and everyones copied him since...
This show gave me an Missoni vibe also, she is getting her references, right?
Hahaha. Feels that way
You make runway show commentary a thing. Pls do more!
Thank you 🙏🏻💖
I am in love with green jacket and pants. But nothing else couch my eyes.
the bibs, the florals😂 i can‘t either. but the location was stunning!
The show was beautifully set and I love that many in the crowd were locals (perhaps?) and that they were wearing elegant African outfits. This is different from other Chanel shows where the majority of the crowd are wearing something Chanel. That said, I can see the Gucci and Cavalli undertones all over, the overall collection is not giving "Chanel" but sort of a kitchen sink of designers. I feel like that Chanel is taking a very different direction, looking similar to Louis Vuitton with their many different product lines targeting different "sets" of customers: (1) very young (2) street wear (3) suburban mom groups, for example. There are a lot of pieces that I do like, however I do worry that some pieces may be criticized or labeled as being "cultural misappropriation" and I definitely will not want to disrespect anyone or cross into that line.
It was a mess of a show. When I analyze a collection, I do not pay much attention to the setting or the crowd cuz they are all just extra noise that takes my attention away from what I came to see: the clothes and the clothes in this case just did not deliver at all… nor did the accessories or bags.
I finally got to watch this in bed sick . The only thing I liked about this show is the amount of black models they had . All I said throughout this show is wth is this. This was not great at all, Virginie is on one for sure. I was starting to tolerate her
Get better soon Raquel 💖💖💖 I was also very happy to see the beautiful black ladies on the runway. All of them so gorgeous. 😍😍😍 but the clothes were mostly not inspiring.
I loved the live dj set, the vibe and inspo. Virginie owned the runway at the end. It doesn’t feel like a tipical Metiers d’art collection but i like it, except the bibs.
I actually really like the 70’s vibes and beading. I’m a bib girl, lol. If i had money, I’d definitely be pre-ordering so much. I do agree there are lots of Gucci vibes. But since I can’t afford to buy, what I think doesn’t matter 😂
I love seventies vibes too. Just not the way Virginie interpreted them in this collection.
I loved it, but if these peices are made as well as your cardigan was, well then 😜
You're encyclopedic knowledge of fashion continues to astound
me, you catch every reference and I'm always learning!
I genuinely enjoyed this collection! But I mean if nobody likes it someone has to buy it, right? 😂 I don’t like every collection by any means, but a whiff of bohemian, 70’s…I’m sold. There were looks I didn’t like at all-true. The pieces I chose will get a lot of wear from me. Always love to hear your opinion. 😘
Glad you enjoyed this collection. To each their own. Fashion’s attraction should lay in the eye of the beholder and we all have different tastes and sensibilities. I am sure many people enjoyed his collection. Mine is just one opinion in an ocean of different thoughts. 💖💖💖🙏🏻
@jessigreer what did you think of that third green suit (I think it was the third model) I love that jacket.
@@patriciaalexander6842 loved it-it was featured in a short promotional video around the time of the collection’s release. It should still be on the Chanel UA-cam page.
I needed the laugh today. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it 😉😂💖
they really wanna sell that costume jewellery
I usually watch every Chanel show right when they drop but Virginie has made the brand so tired and behind 😪 it’s embarrassing as a Chanel addict
I agree. It feels so heavily uninspired and a drag at the moment. For a Chanel lover this is painful. 💖
I wasn't blown away... saw a few pieces thag caught my eye... but I wasn't inspired.
It was lackluster to me too
Oh Lort! The bags and shoes, maybe. The clothes-😔. Partridge Family meets Studio 54. I was a kid back then. One time around with that style was enough. The 3 yrs they spent on this, they won’t get back. 🫣. The show itself (runway, etc) was cool, tho.
I think I like the denim, and I like how there were some chainless clutches (finally!!!)❣️
Two videos this morning 😉 😘😘😘😘
💖💖
Dakob I couldn't agree with you more. I HATED this collection. Just awful. I am a Chanel girl but Lordy what a jumbled mess. Not to mention many of the pieces just looked sloppy or ill fitting. Well I'll be saving my cash for Fall/Winter 23/24, hopefully it will be a huge improvement.
Thanks sharon 🙏🏻💖 Yes, you and me together. Saving our pennies for a better collection 😉💖
Ohhh I agree😌😌😌will save a lot… nothing makes my heart 🎶
Ugh. This collection depressed me and I find the ideas behind it suspect. Totes agree with many of your points.
Totally agree that it looks like Gucci rather than Chanel.
The only item I really like is the third look which was a green jacket and pants.
i love that jacket too...
i actually tried it on yesterday and the gorgeous 70s vibe silk lining was stunning. Very colorful on the inside!
Wow.. A train wreak of patterns. No thank you.
Yeah, it was a mess
I love Chanel, but the Dakar collection overall wasn’t attractive to me. I could see some ingenuities in their belts and chain necklaces, but that was it. Some of the “powerful” patterns reminded me so much of a Gucci, and many of the patterns were too distinct to be Chanel. 90s fashion trend seems to be coming back, and Chanel never ever showed their beautiful, mild, cool-toned color palette of the time in this show. What I saw was mostly too orange and red, which made me wonder if Dakar is full of volcanos, or if I recently got colorblind. The fabric and tweed seemed to be overall coarse, and there weren’t enough metal chains and other elements to glorify the texture as they had in their Egyptian collection. Of course it would have been a great show for someone with warm undertones.
But still I believe that if they had put on a slightest percentage of the effort they put on this Haute Couture on this Dakar show, Dakar would have been a great show.
Marc Jacob's for Perry Ellis meets Chanel
Kinda…
is your commentary always negative with out providing comment on what you would do to solve the issue..in your opinion...
No dear, Loïc’s comemnts are the opposite. He just sucks up to anybody and everybody in the industry without ever giving a critical view on anything. That is terrible. Thats the attitude that kills creativity and teaches and indoctrinates people like you to be complicit and unlearn critical thinking as a form of stimulation to become more creative and to do better.
You are used to being given all the fodder and food on a silver platter by brand marketing. They have brainwashed you well I see. You expect me to give you solutions to somebody else’s shortcomings. Thats not my obligation. Find your own solutions. You have been stimulated by me and my comments and now you start waking up! It hurts in the beginning but it gets better if you stick with it and work hard and free yourself from the brainwashing you have been a victim to for so long. I don’t think you will understand all this. Its too soon for you. But at least the first step has been made. Open your eyes Fritz… and don’t let your name become your truth…
It's a little hectic, kinda like an amalgamation of 2 separate seasons. Some ensembles looked likethe models were wearing 2 outfits at the same time. Talk about indulgent luxury. Not meaning to sound negative but there was a lot I liked. I'm always partial to Chanel fashion. I have to say though, I loved the natural hair. I'm so sick of the Barbie/extension hair or the overly styled hair we see in American culture. Can't wait to move on from that!
Nice location, not so much the show. Bland pieces.
Agreed.
Forever 21!
Totally

😂😂🙏🏻💖
Love your look ✨ but what the name of this guy you told about xD 7:36
What a mish mash 🤣. I 'll skip. Good for my wallet.
Agreed.
There were a lot of vibes from the late 60s and the 70s. Normally I like that. But most pieces look mediocre. 🤔
Quite mediocre. Well put.
Hahaha Chanel is the new Gucci hahaha
Yep 🤷🏻♂️
