I occasionally add drained artichoke hearts or hearts of palm (packed in brine, NOT packed in oil), sliced radishes, or fresh peas. I also grow my own microgreens and sprouts so I add those to my salad as well every day.

On the West coast, we say "pee-khan." tomato - ttomatoe :) I am grateful for the videos. They are a life saver. I was lost before these.

One thing I’ve learnt from BLE is that 1oz is 25grams. Here in Australia, everything is grams. Once I learnt what 1 ounce was , I learnt quickly how to convert the requirements to grams :)

I was curious about your question, 'how do you pronounce pecan?' There's a lot of differing opinions out there, even amongst pecan growers. One said it's 'puh-kahn' as it came from the Native American word apakane. Some said when they get $1 or less per pound, you pronounce it 'pea-can'. When the grower gets $2 a pound, it's pronounced 'puh-kahn'! Another said that a 'pee-can' was a porcelain container you kept under the bed (to avoid having to go to the outhouse in the middle of the night). Another grower said he didn't care how you pronounced it, just as long as you keep eating them. All kidding aside, nice video. Thanks for the fresh take on salads.

I like to put my protein on the salad. I used chicken bites and hamburger made into taco meat.

How do you make your taco seasoning? I use a lot of store bought.

How long does the vegies last in your fridge once you cut them up. I am worried to lose produce if I cut it up before hand.

Hi, Garry! It depends on the type of vegetable. Some will go slimy a bit quicker than others. Most vegetables will last for 3-5 days and some, like carrots, will last for weeks. 🧡

Hi, Bonnie! For salads, begin with 2-3 ounces of greens and then build from there. 🧡

Hi I want to take the course for 14 days, but I am vegetarian. No eggs, no fish no meat. Can I still take your course?

Thank you for the video. I was wondering what you flavoured the black beans with. I’m not familiar at all with cooking beans!
I’m on our library wait list for the BLE cookbook😊

I know I’m a year late BUT!! Go to an Asian food store and get the Japanese kelp! Throw a 3” square piece in the pot when you cook dry beans. Helps with the gas, AND adds umami flavor!
