Hi Ryan, what's the current daily limit at Russian and Kenai rivers ? Will it be changing ?
The Russian moved to 9 on an emergency order but that’s expiring and will return to 3 now that the run is about over. The Kenai starts at 3 per day until the escarpment goal is reached and then it will increase.

Thx. What's the water temperature at kenai?
High 40s in the water today, the air was up near 80 today though! Degrees Fahrenheit that is.
Great video, Ryan! Thanks for the update.
You got it! Stay tuned for our video from the Russian river, the fishing was fire! 🔥
Should the city give you some Beni, coming considering all the fishers you're bringing. Enjoy watching your advices. I'd like to hit that 2mile hike spot of yours someday. Cheers!
I get the benefit of hearing how much everyone enjoys these videos. Lots of people do watch them and its nice to help others. I appreciate your boost of confidence!
We fell in love with Soldotna our first time there in 2021. We had no idea what we were doing and caught a couple of fish out of pure luck in late August. My husband ending up being laid up most of the trip with an injury. We'll be back up in late-July. Thanks to your awesome videos we're hoping to be a lot more successful and bring some salmon home! Thanks for all you do!!!
Oh you bet! I appreciate hearing how I help! Another month and you'll be having fresh fish! 😎
I hope you make it to Funny River campground. You may laugh at what I’m about to say, but I ran circle hooks last season. Decreased snags to almost zero. Occasional snag would grab the tail membrane but pull out with minimal effort. Hook point stays razor sharp. Grabs the jawbone and doesn’t come out. Straight eye only with the line knotless snelled into the point side of the eye with a little (1/3 thickness piece) of purple or black yarn.
Solid tip! Having that sharp tip protected like it is on a circle hook sounds key! Thanks!
Great video! Will be there the 20th of July! Your videos are the best intel. Thank you.
Ooo you’ll be landing at the airport and I’ll be landing a sockeye! Chances are probably at the exact same time! 😎
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures Probably so, if you wait, I will net it for you too!
Man, that rivers low, waiting for the kenia fish to run, bigger fish. I really like Bing's below the rapids. Trapper scotty,Alaskan
Yea it sure is.. those Kenai’s sockeye are almost 3-1 size difference from these lil torpedo Russians.. I like that area too, rafting it too!
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures limit out and fish the big trout ! Keep your tip up, Trapper scotty
Good report Ryan. Just hold those guys back till we get there July 8
On it! 😎
Limited on Saturday in a few hours at rotary. Slow, but they're there!
You got that right! With a little bit of patience and determination you can fill up that stringer, great job! 🎣
Hell yeah buddy! One more month 🐟🤘 my friends grandparents are already there at the campground, and they said the first hour on the water sockeye on! 🎣
You know it! Those Russian reds are pushing through hot right now!
I was out there yesterday. Around Lover's Lane. Good to see I wasn't the only one who didn't catch anything! 😂
Hey at least we had a shot!!! I plan to take advantage of any fair weather day that comes my way this season! Getting skunked makes catching one that much better! (I keep telling myself that anyways) 🤣
I'll be there the week of July 16. Doing some work at Alaska Christian College. Plan to get out early or stay up late to get some fishing in. I wanted to try to find the College Hole from your earlier video. Hope the water is up - your supposed to get rain for the next week, maybe that will start the rise
It rained on both sides of filming this video… I’m thinking we will see a little bit higher water. Having the riverbanks exposed sure makes getting around a little easier though. I’ll tell you that the lower water level hasn’t slowed those Russian sockeye down any.
Be there on the 11th!!! Hope to get into some good red action!!!
That river should be filling up by then! Let my know if you can see them from the plane when you fly over! 😉
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures hahaha I would but I’m driving from the Yukon!
Love the videos. They have been very helpful. I’m looking to fish in Soldotna the next two days. I would love to get my nephew hooked up on a few sockeyes. He is 11. Any spots to still fish without waders or is the water too high? Appreciate all the help
I’d take him down to Swiftwater and cast from the boat ramp or the landings that are close by. They usually have life jackets down there for kids to borrow as well. It’s a decent spot to watch all the fish being caught too.
The georgia asca fans will be with fishology again. Hope to see Vinny at swiftwater in September for coho
We’re already curing up salmon roe for those lunkers! It would be great to see you guys again!
Ryan, I was wondering about the low water level and if this is normal as have not seen it this low on your other videos? Do you anticipate higher levels around July 12th? Thanks as always for the great videos.
I wouldn’t say it’s out of the ordinary to see the water level fluctuate like this. It’s rising everyday with this rain so I’d imagine you’ll be seeing more familiar waters soon.
See yall in sept
Yes sir! Fish on!
