    I was up there a week ago, we limited on Halibut and Sockeye, really enjoy your Videos, AND the great enthusiasm. share the smoked salmon recipe when you can!

      I went out last light and rounded up another batch of sockeye. I’ll probably smoke this batch and show you how I like to do it 😎🔥 thanks for watching the show, it’s pretty cool hearing about everyone’s fishing adventures on here.

      Awesome! I’ll be throwing bait into the Kasilof for a king salmon in two days! I’d love to smoke up a fresh king salmon to make your mouth water! Almost that time again😎

    We caught 18 reds in 3 hours at Bing's Landing yesterday. Super easy.

      I think it will… I haven’t seen my first silver yet, but some pinks are showing up already. The sockeye have the river completely choked off right now, it’s incredible!

      Update: we stayed in soldotna 5/5- 5/10. Fishing was great. We were able to catch 2 limits within 2hrs every morning. We fished at swiftwater campground. Thanks for the videos

    We saw you a couple of days ago. My 9 y/o caught 6 in the mouth yesterday on a fly rod. I actually quit keeping fish it’s so insane

      That's so awesome! Getting those lil ones out to catch fish is something they'll never forget. At this point you can pick and choose which ones you want to keep or just power through with some catch-and-release. Super fun Summer this year, enjoy it!

      It usually takes me about 3 days to make a batch so I'm working on carving out the time to make that happen, but its coming!

    Limited Thursday night after work, camped over and limited out Friday morning, camped again and limited out Saturday morning..it’s Sunday night now and I just finished vacuum sealing.

    We’re out here now. First time newbies 😅 got 3. 2 bit off the line and hook. 1 seemed to get the hook off somehow. Hook loop not strong enough??? We’re doing something wrong 😂

      Gotta keep practicing to fill up a stringer with fish! Awesome you’re getting the hookups! If you’re using egg loop knots make sure you wrap the hook shank 10-12 times to form a strong barrel. Instead of yarn, try putting a bead on your leader line and tie your hook on with a regular barrel knot for the win! Good luck 👍🏻

    I was up there one year when 90,000 came in one day. I thought that was crazy. 195,000 must be complete chaos. In a good way.

    Just on our way to Soldatna. Your vid is so encouraging. Can’t wait! I thought last year was good! How can you get your boat to float? More fish than water! Shouldn’t take me all day to get my limit. Wow ! Great vid as usual! Thanx

      You’ll be right on time if you’re on your way now. We were seriously expecting a fish to jump into the boat at some point during the day… it’s just plugged off with some of the best sockeye in the world right now, we’re all having a good time!

    Was there 20th thru 30th and fishing was off the hook! Limit went to 6 on 21st our first day of fishing, 2 buddies and I stacked 123 in the freezer with 7 days of fishing. Were catching 18 fish limits in under an hour. Weather was perfect also...sunny and mid upper 60s almost every day.

      Just like last season, I knew you’d be here filling fish boxes!!! The run is still pushing in and the sun is still out! It’s so amazing what a weeks time can produce if you get after it, way to go!

      It’s a big river but really not too many folks on it. The shore line was completely packed off in most places though. Catching them from a kayak would be a riot. I sure thought that reel was going to give but it kept on working..🙃🎣
