Definitely remember this guy. The current draftee (Mike Sainristil) we have reminds me of Antoine. Both are around the same size. Similar 40 times. Both play WELL above their size. I believe Sainristil is slightly more active. Back to Antoine, I’ll never forget back in 2012. My Redskins played the Vikings. All season, Alfred Morris always beat the first tackler. Alfred ran the ball and Antoine was facing him. Antoine took Alfred down. Couldn’t believe it.
To give you an idea of just how much bigger Antoine Winfield Sr. played than he actually was, I am 5'9" 180lbs, the exact same size right now as he was in all of these clips. Same height, same weight. Winfield played like he was 6'3" 237lbs Lawrence Taylor. To this day, the best tackler I've ever seen (he puts every Corner today to shame), and, pound for pound, the most "I don't care how big you are or what happens to your body for me to do it, I'm forcefeeding you the turf and then I'm taking the ball from you to run into your end zone with for a touchdown while you lay there with your one dust particle of pride" savagery I have ever seen in a football player. Just a straight up give zero fucks ass-kicker. 🏈
Has to be top 2-3 undersized corner of all time. Darrell Green had a different style but is a definite hall of famer. Winfield brought that old school pop when he tackled. What an awesome player!
My hero a small that play like a big man . His technique was beautiful. I say better than deion Sanders cuz he wouldn't afraid to hit same player speed you don't get too many cornerbacks that got them kind of skills and not afraid to hit a running back. Hall of Fame Watch the tape
The most criminally underrated cornerback, maybe player, of all time. Sure, there are guys who made probowls who aren't given the credit they deserve, but this guy was a BOSS for a decade, and never got credit even when in the league. Was one of the best tacklers in the entire NFL - not tackling corners mind you - tacklers PERIOD.
Look at that terrible quality.. we ALL thought that was top of the line than.. heck we thought madden 2k had the best game graphics and couldn’t fathom how it could be better.
I remember Steve smith destroying this dude after Antoine talked so much shit he scored on him, then they called a holding penalty , Antoine said that won’t happen again, very next play Steve scored on him again
Now his son is a rising star for the Buccaneers.

That’s what a true all around defensive back looks like!
This man needs to be in the Vikings ROH.
And the Hall of Fame
One of the best tackling corners in NFL history. Funny thing I was playing NFL 2k5 last night and I was playing against Winfield and the Vikings lol
Winfield was a beast........
NFL 2k5 is the best game ever to this day!
They said this was Devon Witherspoon comp, and honestly after watching this video I agree
Best pound for pound corner! Loved to watch him play.
Crazyy that his son plays like him

If you say Deion Sanders HATED tackling, then Antoine Winfield RELISHED tackling.
He's really the first person I think of when I want to see on-field violence form a cornerback lol
He was underrated for YEARS. Only casuals would disagree.
Antoine Winfield is my favorite hitting/corner ever. He’s in my personal hall of fame
Great work!
Thank U....
Loved him as a Bill....but definitely loved my man as Viking....one of the best to do it #SKOL
Devon Witherspoon just like him
Jsn great job 👍 on another rated corner.

imagine how happy he is seeing us son do what he couldnt
Found Out About Him Through Madden Tbh.
I see a lot of Antoine in Devon Witherspoon...old-school blood smelling physical corners..

Antoine was a better CB than Smith was a WR.
@@TheQC92 How? Winfield was really good but Smith had a borderline HOF career.
Wasn't that Fred Smoot?
@@Ginga he wrecked Fred smoot as well but no Antoine Winfield around 2009-10
@@TylerLovato Ah, didn't know about. Steve was a bad man. Last WR I'd openly talk shit to going into a game.
