Also, if you don't have shaving cream, you can use Cool Whip, not whipped cream. It will have the same texture as the shaving cream. 😊

I've done quite a few photo transfers for my classes, but I've mainly done them on glass or tape to make my own stickers. One thing to keep in mind is what colors are actually seen, my printer didn't use white ink for the white spaces, so if you do make a transfer on a non-white background that is something to test before the final piece.

Mod Podge makes photo transfer medium specifically for putting images on wood, canvas, etc. There are instructions on the back of the bottle. It works better than just plain Mod Podge and, in my opinion, preserves more of the photo's original color.

I didn't try those hacks, but it absolutely can't work for oil. Maybe for those new water solluble oil paints.
It also can't work with acrylics. Once those are dry they are like plastic, no matter how much water you use or how long it soaked. I can only imagine water colors (yes, they can make your brush look like that too) or Gouache, wich both always react with water, no matter how long ago they dried.

I tried this hack and it works for acrylic. Just take 3 dryer sheets, wrap them around the brush, use 6 ounces of water. Then mix it up making sure the brush flows through the water and rubs against the dryer sheets almost as if you’re trying to paint the dryer sheet in the water. Literally a completely crusty brush was like new after ten minutes of moving

You can make quick stickers with that rubbing method, too. No ModPodge needed. Take (glossy) clear sticky tape and place it over a laser printed image. I’m pretty sure Xerox version works, too. Scrape the surface with your fingernail (palette knife?) until all of the image touches the tape. Dunk the tape under water and rub off the printer paper. Let dry and the sticker is finished. 👍🏽

Usually tape winds up non-sticky, but a glue stick fixes that. I found magazines (the cheaper the paper, the easier it scopes off) work great. My favorite is to lay a mag page, then stencil, and tape, then burnish with paper tool, nail painting tool, or a Q-tip around the stencil edges, and finally soak for 10-15 minutes. Page usually comes away all on its own if you soak it long enough, And the stencil-covered areas are still sticky.

Hi Chloe! Big fan of your videos! The first hack for dried paint actually works. I do art myself and have a few brushes I’ve accidentally set to the side.
What I did was take 3 dryer sheets, and 6 ounces of water. I wrapped two of the dryer sheets around the actually brush and mixed it up. Like I was swirling the brushes and rubbing them and pressing them against the dryer sheet. Took ten minutes to get a large coating of paint off.

the shaving cream n coloring def works, infact alot of people tend to get like a big tray n fill it with that stuff
put the paper fully over it
press it down firmly but not submerging it then peel it off n clean it an you get a nice design
it was fun n we did it in school
not surprised it works as puffy paint too

It Didn't affect standard of my paintbrush and it became as good as new!

Really fun video. I've actually been curious about some of these hacks myself so I'm super glad you did them! I've also done some these myself.
For the soap frayed brush, it doesn't last. After you wet it you just get soap in your paint or water and it goes back to it being frayed again.
The Crayola marker watercolor. I've done this to and it's great! Just wet the plastic really quickly after you put the marker on or it'll dry. Also instead of putting water on the paper I just dropped a ton of water on to the plastic and you get the same effect. You can also make a sort of DIY copic with this method. Color permeant marker on plastic and mix it with rubbing alcohol. I've done a few of my inktobers this way and its pretty great, cheap, and easy. It's not the real thing but it does quite well.
