    I just had lasik on both eyes yesterday. It only took 20 minutes and very little discomfort. My vision is like a damn hawk. The only negative is that my sclera is a little red. But that will go away in like a week. Go for it people. It is really not that bad!!

    • @tinxxx0081
      @tinxxx0081 7 років тому +7

      mostly dry eyes problem was coming out of old lasik technique.. with relex smile its minimum and that is too not in every case.. that's what I have read and understood.

    • @James-ck4bg
      @James-ck4bg 7 років тому +7

      Satender Singh True, although relex smile carries its own riscs by being a relatively new method. Where lasik is pretty much finetuned and accurate, relex smile is still pretty amateuristic.
      But nevertheless, I don't trust both procedures. Long term complications are still unknown and I don't believe the successrates when I compare them to independent research results.

    Having this done is something no-one forgets, it's like something off Blade-Runner or Logan's Run.
    I can't get over the tech and wizardry that goes on doing this level of surgery.
    I was intimidated somewhat as you can't really just let them do all the work, as the patient you have to ensure your eye is very much 'locked-on' to the laser-guide mark, which vanished after about 5 seconds of the laser-activation and you have to 'hold' that eye position for 23 seconds or so.
    Results from it are amazing, 20/12-16 vision now. :)
    This Dr seems to be a lot more brusque and wandering with his tool than my Dr, maybe his laser is set a bit differently or the patient was finding the procedure difficult?

I know I can't really do much to make you feel better but all I can say that 2 years after the Relex Smile my eyes are healthy and my vision is great :) Please don't rush it if you don't feel ready - let your doctors know how you feel and ask them a lot of questions

    A ja myślałam, że ta metoda polega tylko na laserze ? A tu jednak "grzebią" w oku... :( to co mnie najbardziej przeraża, to że mogą przez przypadek coś jednak uszkodzić... I to nieodwracalnie... Mam ostry astygmatyzm i np napisy z odległości metra juz zlewają mi się w plamę, zawsze sądziłam że zafunduję sobie taką operację, ale teraz juz sama nie wiem... Boje się... Druga sprawa... Rozumiem że na oko zakłada się taki jakby stabilizator aby powieka się nie zamknęła ? Tego też się boje... Czy zakładanie tego boli ? I czy istnieje zagrożenie, że jesli oko jednak ucieknie wzrokiem, to może stać się coś złego ? Wydaje mi się też, że pomimo stabilizatora oko tak bardzo może chcieć się bezwarunkowo zamknąć, że wlasnie np zacznie mi drgać albo coś w tym stylu... A jak operowali Ci drugie oko to pierwsze miałaś zamknięte ? U mnie to byłoby trudne, od razu te powieki mi się trzęsą...

      To tylko wygląda strasznie jak się patrzy "z boku" - moje wrażenia gdy leżałam pod maszyną były zupełnie inne niż gdy później obejrzałam to wideo :) Gdy zakładają te stabilizatory to nie przeszkadzały mi jakoś - wiedziałam, że je założą - pewnie gdyby była to dla mnie niespodzianka to byłabym przerażona ;) Ale oglądałam filmiki z operacji i widziałam też, że grzebią i byłam na to przygotowana. O wiele łatwiej i szybciej przez to poszło :) Drugie oko było zamknięte i zabezpieczone, więc się o nie nie martwiłam :)

    Hello I did a Relex Smile surgery 10 days before. I had a very low myopia. Since the surgery I have vision fluctuations and a blurry near vision. Anyone here with the same problems? If yes, how long takes the recovery time? By the way I am 30 years old and had a very low myopia - 1.00 / - 1,75 without any astigmatism.

    • @JuliaCaban
      @JuliaCaban  4 роки тому

      Yes, 10 days is still too early to see 100% results. I would wait 3-4 weeks for the recovery. I wouldn't worry, but of course share your concerns with your doctor.

There is an obvious benefit in terms of no possible flap detachment with this procedure, but the potential for introducing and leaving behind debris during that traumatic lenticule removal step....ugh. no thank you.
