There was silk faux fur too! 😊 Btw if you watch the recording of the live on my channel (I really should get around to adding a proper picture and description on it) it is about an antique 1910s coat and it is mohair plush 😊
Delightful and skillfully presented! Love how spot on your explanations are and the ensembles are lovely. This is a favorite era of mine, and a many happy evenings have been spent with the era's women's magazines, from the stories and fashions to the advice and ads :)
I have done a few getting dressed ones from other decades but not one comparing a single years summer and winter styles if that's what you mean specifically
I did actually wear a similar outfit for that -20 degree winter. My co-workers were very confuse about the outfit, but hey, they had 5 layers and were still cold, and there I was with 4 layers, feeling just fine
Some old magazines i have would tell you gloves are 100% necessary and they should be properly put on BEFORE you exit your home. (The must be stated part right?) It was part of a whole article about girls who went to collage and started dressing sloppily. Untied shoes and gaping plackets were also among the complaints.
Yes they would, but like with any etiquette rule they wouldn't be making a big deal about it if people didn't break it all the time 😜 there a tons of pictures of women outside without gloves on
Thank you for these wonderful videos! I would like to learn more about wedding dresses (because I am engaged and would love to sew my own) - may this be possible some time soon? Greetings from Germany.
The cotton velvet is thrifted and the cotton lace I bought years ago. It's one of those fabrics that kind of comes and goes depending on how much lace is in fashion, hopefully it'll come back into fabric stores soon!
Love the difference between a private body and a public fashionable body.
I had no idea you could make faux fur out of wool, we really should go back to that! I love watching your videos and how accurate they are!

I can't believe how much the styles changes in the twenties. Love your channel. You look beautiful as always.

I often read the fashion magazines too! 😊 There's always something new to learn
"Ultra fashionable, ultra groovy" 😂 I love that!
Surprisingly many layers of undergarments they wore!
Great video! It'll be cool if you did ones for other decades.

Yes air in-between is the best insulator 😊
Thanks for the great illustration of '03 fashion, really helped my understanding!

You look gorgeous in both outfits 🙂
Thanks 🥰
Where did you get the cotton lace fabric and the cotton velvet I’ve been looking for some but everything is polyester
