    In this video I give you a detailed account of my 10 month natural hair journey. About 1 month after my last perm I put a permanent black hair dye into my hair, left it in too long or didn't wash all of it out, and it caused my hair to go bald in 3 different areas. I used avocado oil and GNC vitamins to regrow my hair.

    I have a feeling it's the Biotin in the hair skin and nails vitamin that did the trick. You said you took it religiously. I have the slowest growing hair ever and it's baby fine. I cut all the afro off because it was so much work it took me five years to grow that beautiful fro out then chopped it off. I was so upset because I did not want to wait five years to get it back so I went crying to my sister who has nice thick long natural hair and She swore by the hair skin and nails. So I decided to try it and my hair is halfway grown back in just 8 months. I was shocked. And it much thicker and came back with more ringlets than just kinky and I did not use any special oils or products. I just think it's probably the vitamin that gave you that boost and the oil kept it soft so you can retain the length as it was growing back. Anyway I'm gonna try adding avocado oil along with my JBCO AND my Burts Bee multi purpose ointment. Thanks for sharing...

    I believe the answer for the question below is most obvious, if in fact perm is still being used, as she likes the style that she gets when she does use PERM. i don't believe she stated that at this point in time was using a chemical perm, for her look. One thing I believe as African American Sisters, we need to stop this passing judgement, on those of us that may not be as "Afrocentric," as we ourselves may be, that we all may see our" hair picture",differently. Not every Africa American woman wants to wear a (NATURAL) and that does not make her any less African American. Not all African American Woman want to wear African clothing on themselves, which is not to say they don't and can't appreciate the look on someone else. We all have the right to be who we FEEL we are (INDIVIDUALS). I happen to like her hair, it looks very attractive on her and by the way, SHE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON AT THIS POINT IN TIME!!!!!!

    Did you use avocado oil everyday for a hour? Dis you apply avocado oil in that spot or all over your scalp?

    • @theslayologist
      @theslayologist  8 років тому +4

      I only used the avocado oil once a week in the form of the mask I mentioned. I did use it all over my head but I rubbed it into those spots for about 3 minutes.

      If I can understand your question, you asked do I shampoo my hair once a week or everyday? The answer to that question is, I shampooed my hair, during this process, only once a week using the avocado oil.

    Putting perms and dyes in your hair were and not completely washing those chemicals out, probably what caused your balding.

    Don't take this personal..Really no harm is intended but the before picture looks like a picture of a older woman's head with a little grey in it.. If maybe you would have shown your face then it would've been believable..

      I actually thought about that when I posted the pics, but when I took the pics a year ago I took them for myself...never intending to create a youtube channel. But my oldest daughter made me aware of others creating channels and posting hair results but by then it was too late. I do have other pics tho that have more of my body & a little forehead but I'm saving those for when I do a hair growth journey video over the course of about 18 months. So please Subscribe so you won't miss that one. Avocado oil is the bomb!

      I thought the same thing... but as I watched the video, you did say you were dying your hair. Hair loss is a beast. Glad you got your's back. I was taking HUM Nutrition for mine and had to stop because I was allergic. I may try your tips. But really you look to young to have grey hair. Good genes. You go girl.

    So you are just dabbing the oil and massaging your scalp? Can it be mixed with jbco? I'm trying to get the crown area of my hair to grow back. I have tried almost everything outside of going to the Dr.

    • @theslayologist
      @theslayologist  7 років тому

      smooches2ya Yes it can be mixed with other oils. My hair has grown tremendously but they're is still a small thinning area in my crown & I've recently made a Dr's appt to receive hair injections.

    • @theslayologist
      @theslayologist  7 років тому +3

      The avocado oil that I purchased did come from Walmart. It has to say cold pressed & naturally refined & 100% pure also. It's equivalent to 16 avocados. You can actually make the avocado oil yourself but it's easier to buy it!

      Maggie Baidoo Hi, just read your comments. Honestly during that process I used avocado oil like every week, but after a year I had a set back when I put a permanent dye in my hair. It didn’t get nearly as bad as my before photo but I noticed it & so now I’ve been going to a dermatologist for hair injections...so I’m using medicine now.

      Thank you for honesty as well. If you had not put the dye in your hair, do you believe you could have avoided the dermatologist? My hair was thinning and failing out probably due to a medicine so I chopped it off but I have spots where there is no hair. Not sure what to do?
