After years of googling how to remove yellow stains... I found the best remedy is whitening toothpaste! (The pale/white formulas work the best) work it in with an old toothbrush and leave to dry then rinse! Works on dirty converse/vans laces too! X
I'm shocked you don't have trousers in the summer capsule wardrobe! Linen/cotton, lightweight, wide leg is ALLL i wear all summer long. 🌞🕶✨ They are so comfortable, not-so-revealing, really airy and make any outfit soo put together (in my opinion). Loved the video as always - love from Brasil
Omg, this is such a small wardrobe, it actually made me anxious, ahaha. I'm like, "where are slogan tees? denim jackets? pants?", hehe. Very impressed though!
I've realized that a smaller summer wardrobe doesn't work for me. I tend to sweat a lot in the heat, so my clothes need to be washed frequently - if I'm only wearing a few things repeatedly those items get worn out quickly from all the sweating and washing.
I kept noticing how cute the shirt that you are wearing is and then I scrolled down to the description box and realized it's the same Uniqlo linen shirt that I recently bought, what a pleasant surprise, we will be matching! Always adore your capsule wardrobe videos.
Heat is here in Western Canada 🇨🇦😁👍. Enjoying the summer capsule inspiration! Fun to see what others have in their capsule much like a peek into someone else’s purse or makeup kit and skincare lineup. ❤️👍😁
Hi Anna. Mint Velvet have a stunning Black Biker Leather Jacket with gold detailing. I bought it to wear at my wedding over my dress as it will be freezing in January but can’t stop wearing it now
I dont know if you have it in the UK (Im in Canada) but Dawn dish soap is amazing for stain removal! You want just the regular blue version. I swear by it. I use it for everything! Its also amazing at cleaning makeup brushes
I love your capsule wardrobe videos. I only envy English weather in the summer. You guys get to wear jumpers all year round. In the med we have three months of gentle melting to look forward to.
I use white vinegar to remove sweat stains. You can either dilute it in a basin and soak the item overnight (about a qtr bottle to a basin of water) then wash, or put some neat into a spray bottle , spray and leave for a few hours before washing.
Anna, you should visit South Africa and stock up on Sunlight household bar soap - it gets rid of every kind of stain (even cooking oil and chocolate). In the absence of that, you can also try making a paste with bicarbonate of soda and water. Just blot it on, leave till dry, rinse and wash normally. But really, the Sunlight soap is an absolute marvel.
Sweat stains come off with baking soda :) Just wet the fabric and rub soda in, rinse, repeat until it's gone. It works every time for me. Also, add some soda to the washing powder when washing whites - lift the white beautifully. Great video, still trying to figure out, if capsule wardrode is for me - I am a stylist and just love the variety too much to limit myself ;) Although, inspired by your adventures with it, I have downsized a lot and stopped impulse buying - thank you Anna!
Don’t know if you have oxyclean in the UK but works for all stains. Saved so many white shirts this way. I buy the powder, make into a paste then soak overnight. Everything comes out!
In summer I feel so blah about style. I hate shorts, but die in pants. I was in need of some inspiration. So thanks for this! As for yellowing pit stains, try the spray Oxi-clean. Let it soak for a bit before washing. It helps significantly.
River Island have a fab leather biker jacket in and with gold detail. It’s £60, I bought it in Feb and it’s still available. I love it, great sizing, very generous. I could of probably sized down, but at least I can wear jumpers underneath comfortably. Xx
What I do with all my whites is use Oxiclean (and is also super handy to keep around. I’m on my 3rd tub of it). Not sure if you can find it in the UK but after a few uses, I always soak my whites in Oxiclean for a day and they go white again and if the whites have some color on them, you can still do it. But best to do it earlier than later since sweat stains will set in which is why I soak my clothes in them even if there aren’t really stains on.
We’ve been having sunshine and 34 degrees Celsius this whole week, I’m a puddle of sweat as soon as I leave the house - now it’s finally cooling down a bit
Perfect timing! The east coast of Canada is just entering into warm temperatures. Your capsule wardrobe videos are my favorite. Keep em coming forever!
Your casual wardrobe videos are just the best! I’m going to try to take a look at mine today but I did the Marie Kondo method and now all four seasons worth of clothing is on my rail with lots of room to spare 🤣🤦🏼♀️ I need a video for all the staples you need in your wardrobe if your building it from scratch 😏 xx
I have the same problem with the yellow stains on my white tshirts! I use OxyClean -- you add a scoop to a small washing tub/container, add hot water, add the shirts in (you can just put the top half in if you want to make more room for more shirts) and you leave for about an hour, then get a toothbrush and brush some oxyclean directly onto the stain and then leave it overnight and throw it in the wash without detergent the next day. It has completely removed my stains :) LOL sorry such a random youtube comment but needed to share 🤣 loved the video Anna!! xx
I love the silk camisoles from Everlane! I have both white (creamish) and black, but would recommend black the most! White gets a bit stainy under the armpits a bit too quickly... :')
For yellow sweat stains, what works for me, is making a paste of baking soda and water or bicarbonate and white vinegar, apply the paste on the stain, work it in and let it sit for 20 minutes or so, then wash in warm water. The best is to do this when stains starts to appear, but it can be repeated for bad stains.
concerning the sweat stains... if they are more on the yellow side.. try soaking in citric acid. Use descaling citrix acid cause is more and way cheaper. Disolve 1 pack in 1l water and soak a shirt in it for some hours. Worked wonders on clothes I otherwise would have thrown away. But i just tried it on white and cotton clothes so be aware of other materials.
Love the summer capsule. I'm reading your book and I definitely want to create my own. I bought my gold hardware leather jacket from a Danish brand called Day Birger et Mikkelsen and it's so great! I feel fantastic every time I wear it.
For yellow stains and pretty much any stain on anything, I mix up dawn dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen pexoride into a liquidy mixture, douse your stained area in it and rub it in, let it sit for thirty minutes then scrub. Repeat as necessary~
Hi Anna! For your yellow stain on your white clothes, you can use "percarbonate de soude" (percarbonate soda in english??! Sorry, i'm french, i don't known the exact translation 😅) it's a natural whitening product and i use it in my washing machine for only white clothes, or for stains like this: in a container, put boiling water, 1cup of this product (be careful, it's bubuling!), your lovely thirt, live it for about 45min and put it in your washing machine with your usual washing machine product: bright new thirt! Lol 👕 Hope that will help you, in France we found this product in natural shops. Much love, Carole.
Hi Anna! Try putting dishwashing liquid on the arm pits of your white shirt. I have found that it is a pretty good stain remover and I have used it on a very loved jacket (with pretty bad stains from deodorant and wear) and it shifted a lot of it. ☺️
Virginia (in the US) weather has been all over the place. Super rainy some days and 90 degrees the next! That’s how the East Coast is in general though in the summer. Ya neva know what yer gunna git!
Buy a Dr. Beckmann spray for sweat and deodorant stains and never throw away another t-shirt. I discovered that around 2 years ago and all our t-shirts still look like new (but I add some bleach to white load in the washing machine). I even used it on black silk, so its perfect for every color and fabric. It's the only stain-remover-product I use, 'cuz it works miracles with all stains I had to deal with (sometimes more than 1 wash, but really works).
Your capsule video's 😍. The weather here is confused, personally I need a thin cotton tank dress and leather slides (not flip flops) and my summer wardrobes complete. ❤
I read somewhere that yellow stains on white shirts happen when you wear antiperspirant and you sweat (something about the two reacting?). So perhaps try to stop wearing antiperspirant when wearing white or ditch antiperspirant altogether, as they are not the best anyway because they contain aluminum. Otherwise let us know if you find a good way to remove the stains. I basically wear minimal white to avoid the sweat stains!
(Disclaimer not criticism) I feel like this is definitely not a capsule wardrobe anymore - i think it’s more a cycled seasonal wardrobe - I think a capsule is about a much more edited group of items that you work into multiple outfits...interesting to read your blog post on this x
I agree, they’ve definitely grown out of that definition. I live in a place without 4 distinct seasons and have more of a curated collection of clothes, so I don’t mind her loose definition of capsule wardrobes because I relate a bit more than the really really pared down ones.
Wow, our climates are sooo different. It’s been high 90s-low 100s + high humidity since the first of May. Literally can’t imagine wearing >95% of these clothes in the summer. 🔥 But, I enjoyed taking a peek into your wardrobe & seeing the process.
I have a white T-shirt that had HORRIBLE sweat stains (I wore it under sweaters only). When we visited my in-laws and, my mother-in-law washed my tee and I don't know what se did to it, but I think it might have been magic! 😄 Seriously, how do mums do this?!
Anna it truly does feel like summer yet. I don’t know what you and Mark did 😂but it really hasn’t felt like summer in Southern California. Hope your having a good day. 🌞🌻
You can use borax to help remove existing sweat stains. To prevent them you need a deodorant and/or antiperspirant WITHOUT aluminum. As soon as I stopped using one with aluminum, no more yellowing!! ☺️🙌🏼
kosher salt and lemon juice, make a paste and spread on stained area and leave in direct sunlight. takes all yellow stains out of whites. recipe direct from my greek grandmother ;-)
If you spray the Vanish spray on the yellow stains before washing and also put the Vanish Gold in the machine together with your normal laundry detergent, it gets rid of the stains every time :-)
I was thinking, summer capsule wardrobe in THIS weather! Go on Anna, dare you! Haha, its a terrible summer so far here in the UK. I was in my parker this week!
For pit/ collar/ cuff stains, my standby has been blue dawn and baking soda, and I've heard others have success with this. I think it also depends whether your are an anti-perspirant or deodorant user and individual body chemistry.

I wish the weather was more predictable here... I live in Chicago and weather is always so up in the air until summer really hits. So I need to have clothes anywhere from summer to fall/winter on handy.
Hi, Anna! Love your knew capsule! I have a question for you: are your jumpers all made of wool? I try to find similar ones here where I live, but all of them are made of acrilic and I just can’t wear acrilic... 😑
Anna, I have (Kondo style 🤣) nice boxes in my wardrobe and have rolled up my trousers. So I get the box out and immediately see which one I want. Less mess. Tip: also roll up the clothes in your drawer underneath your bed? Better overview! 😘
You can get any stains out by putting your white clothes into a chlorine- water mixture. Just let it sit there for about ten minutes and rinse it out, then put it in the wash with the rest of your clothes and that's it :) Just be careful with any other colours on the clothes because they might stain the rest of the whole garment. i tried it on sneakers and it works wonders!
Never thought to try it on t-shirts - thank you!!
Will try this for sure! Thank you!
Resolve is also a great product that works wonders!! & using a Mr. Clean white sponge bar works really well on collars and white sneakers as well!!
it's the first day of my period and i haven't been in this much pain in a long time. a capsule wardrobe was exactly what i needed, thank you anna!
Sending lots of love! ❤️

Lily: we had a baby
Anna: here's my clothes
Love that you uploaded at the same time ❤️
nasty!!!
I've realized that a smaller summer wardrobe doesn't work for me. I tend to sweat a lot in the heat, so my clothes need to be washed frequently - if I'm only wearing a few things repeatedly those items get worn out quickly from all the sweating and washing.
Love that you went back to a smaller more curated wardrobe, it’s so much more inspirational!!
Hahah, not everywhere in Europe! We have a heatwave in Poland... 36 degrees for two weeks
Austria as well ;)
heading to Poland in August so pumped for that weather !!!!!
Same in Spain!
The same in Ukraine.. can wear jeans only few days per summer
And it still goes on strong... FFS I want rain! Dejcie mie deszczu! XD
aww what about the blue tie dye shirt?? i've been following your capsule wardrobe so long I know all your clothes lol xxx
Bindi Bryce I am missing her new Topshop blouse in white (but with those blue abstract lines on it). I wanna see it!
Yes I am missing the navy tie dye shirt!
That was in the wash from our Cali trip - still catching up with all the laundry! x
Love your simple and comfortable but elegant and feminine style!
I kept noticing how cute the shirt that you are wearing is and then I scrolled down to the description box and realized it's the same Uniqlo linen shirt that I recently bought, what a pleasant surprise, we will be matching! Always adore your capsule wardrobe videos.

Anglo Mallorquina “gentle melting” 😆great description
It's the same in Australia, only more lightly frying than gently melting. 🌡️
Melting here too in the caribbean!!!🙈

I use white vinegar, Fairy dish soap and bicarbonate of soda for sweatstains and general smell in clothes from deodorant. Works like a charm.
Super easy and totally work
And if you can find some sort of more natural dish soap, it's also good and safe for the environment 😊
In summer I feel so blah about style. I hate shorts, but die in pants. I was in need of some inspiration. So thanks for this! As for yellowing pit stains, try the spray Oxi-clean. Let it soak for a bit before washing. It helps significantly.

for yellow armpit marks, ive had good luck with using the blue Dawn dishsoap mixed with white vinegar and use it like a stain remover.

Hi Anna, no worries, we are sweating our butts off for good two weeks in the Czech republic! Bring the summer capsule on!!!
I love the bedsheets! Please show us how you make your bed and what bed sheets and pillows you have. x :)

Allways so inspiring! I immediately bought the realisation par daisy dress :). Love your video’s!
I literally just use Vanish straight on the yellowish stains following the instructions on the bottle and it works a charm!
xx

I got my leather jacket with gold hardware from Hobbs last year - it *is* midnight navy but it's so dark you can't really tell it's not black
Thank you, Anna, this is very helpful. I love the animal print wrap dress!
when will you address bras and bloomers? I want to know where I should be buying my undergarments. tips/suggestions, storage, wash/care.

Timi Sterr Vanish gel and powder is the key 😇💋
Also. If you put the Away bag in the loft you have room for other small bags and then you can put the t-shirts in the basket
Morning Anna! :) You're sure up early xx just having my morning coffee and watching this!
Really enjoyed this video and love the pale jeans!🤗xx

Yep. Can soak in hottest water, give the spots a wee scrub, let it sit til the water cools. Scrub a spot if it's not gone. Wash normal.

Not any where in Europe...in Spain the weather is really warm these days, I was waiting for this video. Thank you very much Anna :)
Wished that you also had showed your styling. I really like your style and choices, SP would be great to see how you combine your clothes. Thanks!
I was thinking, summer capsule wardrobe in THIS weather! Go on Anna, dare you! Haha, its a terrible summer so far here in the UK. I was in my parker this week!
in Poland it's been in 30+ for like 2 weeks so not all Europe is stuck in spring ;)
How are you surviving such warm weather ;)
Same in Italy, it’s baking hot!
@@krystynaspark wow girl i can't believe i found you in the comments!!
@@castackpole I know right!! I was so surprised when I saw your name haha
For pit/ collar/ cuff stains, my standby has been blue dawn and baking soda, and I've heard others have success with this. I think it also depends whether your are an anti-perspirant or deodorant user and individual body chemistry.
I've spent the past few weeks in jeans and a cardigan! I think we were definitely spoilt last year with the endless heatwave
I was pregnant last summer so definitely didn't enjoy it! 😅 Haha
My favourite videos!! What a way to brighten up a Sunday- one question re the &otherstories oversized shirt I feel like it’s hard to (French) tuck into jeans do you wear it with anything else?? Xxx
The more I wear it, the softer it gets and so I don't find it too difficult to tuck in these days! x
Ooh wow i need to proper edit my wardrobe!
Love these videos :)! I usually soak my white t-shirts in natural white vinegar and water overnight to remove the yellow stains, hope it helps!
Barkeepers Friend removes sunscreen stains! I used it when I thought I had ruined my Cecilie Copenhagen dress on its first wear!
SOILOVE LAUNDRY SOIL STAIN REMOVER! It’s made specifically for it and works wonders. Be warned the bottle looks like it’s from the 50s but it really worked for me.
Reiss blair jacket! You should check that out, nice leather and the gold detailing :)
Thanks for another great video! What’s the difference between dungarees and jeans?
Dungarees have like a top part (on the chest) held up by straps over the shoulders ;)
Oh! We call those overalls in the US! Thanks!
Jessica Goodman in the UK overalls is the term we’d use for protective wear for workmen etc. Similar to dungarees but with sleeves and worn over your normal clothes. What do you call those?
Massimo Dutti has a similar leather jacket now in the New collection ( ref 4730) ☺️
Definitely looking forward to a blog post about leather jackets with gold detailing ;)
Stains (of more or less any variety / fabric) - Violets Earth Friendly Mineral Bleach is amazing, and will get basically anything out of anything (have a two year old child, can confirm this with absolute certainty).
Yes - all of them are. I sweat way too much in anything else! x
Anna, I have (Kondo style 🤣) nice boxes in my wardrobe and have rolled up my trousers. So I get the box out and immediately see which one I want. Less mess. Tip: also roll up the clothes in your drawer underneath your bed? Better overview! 😘
was waiting for this 😍 i am so excited
Hi Anna! Do you know who makes the wardrobe that you store your clothes? Thank you! XOP
Been here for a hot minute. Love your style
Karen Millen had a gold detail leather jacket for sale very recently! Might still be up!
Love the video :)
Aritzia has a gold detailed leather jacket!
White vinegar and baking soda (?). Try on the stains. ❤️
You look gorgeous!!! ♥️
In your occasion wear drawer, is that the rixo wrap top? I'm eyeing it up online and wondering what your thoughts were?
It's a dress - love it! I got it in the sale and I think there's some in the sale on Net-a-Porter at the moment x
You could try botox for underarm sweating. It works great!
Raining in Chicago too.
Always love your wardrobe picks, so cute! I’ve been wondering where your gold hangers are from?
You can get any stains out by putting your white clothes into a chlorine- water mixture. Just let it sit there for about ten minutes and rinse it out, then put it in the wash with the rest of your clothes and that's it :) Just be careful with any other colours on the clothes because they might stain the rest of the whole garment. So just plain whites is your best bet!
