Arguably the timeliest video of all time as I just received my Garmin Venu 3 today and have been busy configuring it. Like all your videos, incredibly informative and insightful. Thank you so much for making our sporting world a better place!
@@Dcrainmaker, just to tidy everything up, your videos and reviews have been responsible for a host of purchases this year. As luck would have it, my Samsung phone, Garmin 520 bike computer, and Oura Ring batteries effectively died in the same week - no kidding. In addition, I had a retro bike build (my old Lemond TSX with Campagnolo C-record from 1991) where I wanted to add a power source to capture my riding telemetry. In short, your reviews and research have been responsible for the purchase of the following devices: Garmin RS200 pedals, Garmin 840 (non-solar) computer, Garmin Venu 3 watch, and a Wahoo Kickr back in 2019. Thank you for this video! I just received my Venu 3s and found this very helpful. I have one question. Do you use any type of screen protector or have you found that the screen is pretty durable against scratches/damage?
Wait, i didn't know you had a video on the Venu 3! Your reviews i can honestly trust as you put them through real usage, ive actually been interested in this watch as i started to work out over 2 months ago and went from 330lbs to 305lbs so i wanted to get this watch to pair with my Garmin weight scale that also uses the Garmin connect app.
Hello, I'm new to the Garmin world and enjoying the Venu 3 thus far! I've noticed that with the default 'wear on left' the buttons are oriented towards your hand/wrist bone, which can result in accidental presses when weight training with gloves on, etc. I think I might have seen somewhere that other watches in the Garmin line allow for an orientation adjustment- essentially flipping the watchface 180 degrees and placing the buttons on the elbow side (like the default for a right wrist wearer). Is this possible on the Venu, and if so, how?? Thanks!
Looks like Garmin has finally added option to increase the font size. Can you please show comparison images of small vs. large font size. and whether it impacts just text notifications or all text in the watch. Thanks
It makes everything a little bigger, but not much. Some text in certain places are still very small, but all the mnus and stuff are bigger. Maybe like 10-15%... but it helps
Is the sleep tracking automatic or like the vivoactive 5 you have to input the time you go to bed and wake up,,,huawei fit(basic cheap, accurate)is automatic, and advice please.
Hey, nice video as always, keep up the good work, one quick question , I just got a Venu 3 a few days back, it is counting steps while I'm asleep, is there a way to fix that?
Do you think they will ever return to the Vivoactive line? The transflective display was an absolute game change changer for someone who mainly outdoors, esp great for those long trips of camping/hiking
No, I'd say both the Vivoactive as well as any mid-range Forerunner MIP display days are done (meaning, the FR255 marks the last MIP display at that price point).
Given that they're similarly priced, would you perhaps compare the Forerunner 265 and Venu 3? I really struggle to understand the Venu 3 at this point and price...
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M But the 265 has everything that the Venu has apart from the speaker (which works only when you have your phone nearby and you might as well just use your phone), and more. The Venu 3 is just a 265 with fewer features for the same price.

When working out, say weights at the gym, or going for a walk, do you have to tell the watch that you are doing these workouts or does it auto register that? If you don’t manually tell the watch does it affect your body battery statistics?
Hi, good video! I'm really torn between the sizes. I wish they made a 43mm that would be perfect. I have a 160mm wrist, would you say a 45mm would look huge? I'm concerned about the tiny screen that the 41mm probably has (given the actual tactile area is even smaller than 41mm)... thank you!
Did you make up your mind? I'm also having the same doubt. I have a 155mm wrist and I also want to buy the 45mm, because of the bigger screen and bigger battery, but I'm afraid it my be a little bit too large for my wrist.
I got the smaller one, I have fat fingers and haven't been having problems gesturing or seeing things on smaller font. Made the mistake of getting the bigger watch last time and it was too painful for my wrist sadly. I'm not slim by any stretch of the imagination and I don't think it looks that small on the wrist which is surprising
Love this! I've not gotten the Venu 3 yet, but am looking for a new watch to replace my 4 years old Apple Watch. I've been debating between this and the Forerunner 265. I'm a 5-10K runner (3-5 times per week) plus gym 3-4 times per week. I don't care too much about the mic and speaker on the Venu, so am debating which is best to get. Thoughts? Venu 3? Forerunner 265? or wait til next year and see if either get an upgrade?
Does anyone know if the watch can turn on & take photos with the camera function on the iPhone or Android? I currently have the Samsung watch and that feature is really nice when traveling solo.
Does the Venu 3s have a move goal feature similar to the Apple Watch? It’s a recommended amount of calories you should burn everyday. You can follow the recommendations or customize it to your liking. It tracks all of your daily movement. I currently have a Venu (1st gen), and am thinking of upgrading, but the feature I really want is to be able to track ocean paddling similar to a canoe..does the Venu 3 have this option? My current Venu does not unless I download/use a user created app
I think it only has a rowing feature
Any idea if we will see a Garmin descent mk3?
Is there anyway to fast forward on a podcast or an audiobook? It says to hold down the fast forward button, but it just keeps skipping to the end. When on runs I like to listen to books, but I can't go back to my spot.
On a phone double tap on the video left to go back or right to move forward
Does it have airplane mode? Thank you.
