Mario Batali was the subject of sexual harassment and assault allegations between 2017-2019. The cases were settled and I believe he was found NOT guilty. However, the scandal was so bad that Discovery+ (and later HBO Max) has zero episodes of Iron Chef featuring Batali available for streaming - so I assume Blizzard wanted to avoid that controversy at the time as well.
He was only found not guilty from one woman. The other charges he admitted to but plead not guilty and actually sat on bench through some of his trails using time to basically invalidate the assault claims (assault is very hard to have evidence for do to it being physical with no 3rd party as witness). I'm surprised that slimeball didn't get a statue in his honor considering Blizzard's history.
Marshal Mcree a quest giver in Eastvale Logging camp was removed as well as Mcree the overwatch hero renamed because of allegations regard the blizzard employee they are named after.
Fun fact about the Trading Post: if you use the Ethereal there to queue for the Trial of Style - and you get first place - your outfit is on display for other players to see!
Huh I thought "Valarian" would be a reference to Valerian Mensk from Stracraft (aka space Anduin) but knowing Blizzard it's very probable that they also named the SC character referencing those comic books :)
The Dwarf is probably a reference to someone's player character or just a generic art someone wanted to make to fit the frame. The only 'notable' (stretching it) dwarf with an eyepatch and blonde hair is Harkyn Grymstone. However he doesn't even have the eyepatch in game for some reason, only in the comics and he's only really a cameo in game, with a bit more content in the SUnwell Comics. The beard matches his in game model though. He's also killable though and I doubt they would put a painting as a refernce to a killable NPC at the Trading post. Unsure why he's aggressive to both horde and alliance. He was a Dragon Hunter but also apologized to Kalecgos and seemed to be on good? terms when they last left him there. Who knows why he's in Dragonflight honestly.
@iaidobotanist8281 oh yeah I wasn't thinking about that. You are 100% right. I don't play ovwrwatch much anymore and forgot about him. He totally fits with the red armor and eyepatch
Maybe the Nightelf scar called "Teldrassil" doesn't necessarily mean that someone was there while it burned - maybe they did it to express their grief and support for losing their homeworld. Also, isn't Dumas the simple-minded adventurer that you give a quest to in the new Hillsbrad?
@@jameschristophercirujano6650 You're why no one cares what the fans say. None of the wow lore makes any sense and contradicts itself constantly. It plays fast and loose to the rule of "cool". Get the stick out of your ass.
Would/could you do a video or series cataloging all the tributes to those that have passed on? I know it would be quite numerous, but it would be wonderful to look back at all of those our community has made immortal in the game.
The Slaughtered Lamb is also a reference to a pub/tavern in "An American Werewolf in London". Where the patrons knew about a Werewolf roaming the country side.
You just gained one more subscriber, I enjoyed this video and it is something I did not know. I am going to watch all of your World of Warcraft videos as that is what I am interested in and enjoy. Thank you for the quality content.
Any particular quests you wish to give the chocolate melting narration treatment to in the near future? Would love to see you do Scholomance if you haven't already. The Stalvan vid was so fun.
I always thought Maginor Dumas was a reference to the author Alexandre Dumas (pronounced "Doo-mah" emphasis on second syllable), since mages are all about reading and stuff 🤔 love your videos man, you're so thorough in all of them, I very much appreciate your work 😍
You mention The Witcher, i was just wondering if you'd ever consider doing something like this for that game? Not that i dont thoroughly enjoy the WoW content, was just curious since you do such an awesome job with these, I bet Witcher ones would be just as awesome. 😊
Love your videos, please continue making them! Also small idea although your channel design is cool and original it might be a little too generic for the heart and soul that the videos portray. Why not use your amazing catchphrase: "Here, on your map". Its funnier, memorable, relatable and has a lot more character.
10:54 I paused and instantly realized it was referring to the spawn bunnies, I literally grabbed my head and cried out "The bunnies! They are everywhere!". I love dev jokes.
another great vid! The Archmage in the portal room's name is NOT Dumas it's pronounced Du-mas haha I think its a Jim Carrey call back from Ace Ventura but not sure
I think she got burned when Deathwing attacked, that's my personal story for her, lol. She was outside in Stormwind when he attacked, or was in the park maybe?
3:37 why Bobby Flay though? Gordon Ramsay carries a lot more weight in cooking industry. Not to mention, Bobby Flay infamously chickened out of a cook off challenge between him and Ramsay, allegedly not even telling GR in advance. When Gordon arrived for the event, he had to call Flay’s rep to find out that Bobby has cancelled. Mario’s been renamed likely due to numerous scandals of sexual assault and underpaying his employees, including taking their tips, iirc. IMO, Flay’s reference should’ve been changed for someone else as well. He’s more of a poser than actual chef, tbh.
Invisible bunnies (or just as often infernals), are used as dummy triggers/casters for spells or smart script functions. Lets say we want a player to lose sanity in an especially scary event room in a dungeon. We can place invisble creatures in this room who we tell to cast a spell "Lose Sanity". On all players within X yards every Y seconds. The function works as intended and the players are none the wiser.
Wow needs to put back alot of thesse legends and create new positie experiences to add into wow . Why do so many companies have to go south oly to be a shell of themselves. We need a expansion that has some sort of brain reservation that will continue in all expansions regards what gets added heck i still remember that wonderful blue dress u used to get in STV.
That Valerian movie they made some time ago was hands-down one of the worst movies I have ever seen. People were walking out throughout the entire movie.
@@StarInbound no one said "life partner." simply "partner" is good enough and i have known many people who refer to their SO as partner, even after marriage.
I think that book in the wagon is one of the many Steamy Romance novels, which you can read in game.

Marshal Mcree a quest giver in Eastvale Logging camp was removed as well as Mcree the overwatch hero renamed because of allegations regard the blizzard employee they are named after.
3:42 The most likely reason why Bario Matalli's name was changed is due to the real life Mario Batali's allegations of sexual misconduct .
Ah that would do it! I was unaware of any allegations. That's disappointing on Batalli's part.
There was a character in Eversong Woods that was removed for similar reasons, IIRC.

The book is the Steamy Romance Novel: Forbidden Love
the dwarf is absolutely Torbjorn from overwatch. It's a reference.

I missed you, FMV! I love your WoW content, even if I know a lot of what you talk about. It's very comforting.
You Forgot to Mention the movie reference that "The Slaughtered Lamb" takes it's name from.(An American Werewolf in London)
Ah good catch!
The park district was reconstructed and was even on your map as Lion's Rest. It's a beautiful area.
Miss these videos. 😢
I REALLY want a hoodie from you that says 'here, on your map' and has a ? :D
Katrana gave the Alliance trust issues with any dragon like human NPC.

Yes, though i wonder if the mage is actually called after Alexandre Dumas, author of The Three Musketeers.
lmao his name is literally dumb-ass haha
Doesn't make sense in the first place. NE are very adept at healing. Blizzard writers don't read their lore again.

Welcome back.
The Park was gorgeous. I think I like it more than Lion's Rest.
Nice. A new episode of "here on your map"
3:12 - There is also a neat reference to Gordon Ramsay: there is a character called Gordon Tramsay in southern Feralas at the Steam Pools Resort.

The Slaughtered Lamb is a reference to the movie American Werewolf in London but I'm sure someone has already pointed that out.
McCormick is the spice company. Exact spelling and goes with the Bobby flay Mario Batali thing. Cool that it may also be a south park thing

They got rid of the reference of Mario Batali, because of all the sexual assault allegations against him
