I used to play the SNES version as a kid. I knew there was multiple versions but didn't know about the Game Gear one, or I forgot about it. Interesting.
Why do the 8-bit versions of this game have no background music, aside from the title screen? The original Amiga and Atari ST versions have music, as well as the SNES and Genesis/Sega CD ports. It's not like the Game Gear and Master System weren't capable of music, so were Virgin Games/Core Designs really that lazy in porting over to those systems?
+DurradonXylles the music is far and beyond the BEST part of this game too, i was excited to hear it on the game gear but alas, only the title screen music
P Ferreira It's possible, but I wouldn't put my money on it. This version of the game is noticeably shorter and less detailed than the 16-bit versions, and games like Streets of Rage, Mega Man GG, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and most of the Disney titles on the Master System and Game Gear were comparable in length and detail and still featured full soundtracks.
DurradonXylles I discovered recently that the PAL Phantom 2040 on the MD is missing cut scenes that the US version has and I think it has to do with Europe having to include a language menu.
It's games like this that proves that the SMS was more than capable of great platform games, and also that the SMS had a superior graphics chipset compared to the Sega Genesis.

+DurradonXylles Perhaps a space issue.

The best part of this platform for furries is the soundtrack.
