Your paper notes are the most realistic of any other video I've watched about effective note taking. No elaborate cursive fonts or letterwork, nothing fancy or purposefully aesthetically pleasing; just straightforward average looking student notes. It honestly makes the tips in this video seem that much more appealing and makes me more likely to want to try them
Yess! I don't understand how people retain information when they are so heavily focused on making their notes look pretty. I try to make mine look neat and organized, but not so much that I'm more focused on actually writing it rather than the information I'm writing.
People like me do it because I’m a visual learner and I have auditory which helps me so much by having different colors and remember color coordination
I've watched several note taking tips but idk why yours is the most satisfying. other videos show how their notes are super neat and aesthetic and that makes your notes look more realistic
@@madnessofmymind I'm not saying the others are not realistic, I'm saying hers is /more/ realistic. And ngl I also like watching the others because the notes are SO pretty (seriously how do they do that...). I'm saying this because as a college student, I find it hard to make real neat and organized, not to mention, aesthetic notes, like I used to do in school. Some professors talk faster than our hands move and re-doing the notes are wasting time sometimes. Some classes won't even let us take notes because all of the materials are in the slides and we'll get the softcopy lol
Thank you SO MUCH! out of all the study tip videos I've seen this is by far the most helpful. I'm only in high school but I'm taking some college courses and I really needed this advice. Printing out the powerpoints is a genius idea and I wish I did it earlier. It's really refreshing to see a youtuber who isnt just "get a bullet journal and a cute notebook and use a million expensive pens in class". You're advice is realistic and genuine.
I'm so glad it was helpful! Yes, I feel like if you actually want to get good grades, you shouldn't be wasting your time making sure your notes look pretty and perfect. It is satisfying to have everything organized and neat, but you don't need to write in different fonts/take 1 hour to write out an entire page of notes just because you're decorating it. It's about learning ! Not art lol
Spotify has a playlist called "autumn" I'm thinking, and the music is super super calm. There's words but it's like Starbucks style cafe music so it's non-obtrusive.
Hi guys ! So in case you don't watch the whole video, I just want to tell you one really helpful tip. QUIZLET ! Sure you can use this site to make study guides. BUT, the best way to use it in my opinion is to look up your course on google with "quizlet" at the end of it. For example, look up "PS371 Quizlet" on google. You're going to get tons of suggestions of study guides people previously made who took your class before. LIFE CHANGING !!
Audrey Victoria I use blackboard at my school! But I Am only in 7th grade and thank you so much for theses tips I love them and I am gong to use them in school (ps I love you and your vids)❤️🖤💛💚💚💜💕
Audrey Victoria I’m 43 going to school for the first time I found this soooooooooooo helpful. In high school I totally re-wrote my notes when I get home my mother never understood but when you said it helps you retain I’m telling you right now it does! It really really does and the highlight thing yes that helps as well or it helps me read the Bible LOL thank you so much I can’t wait to watch more videos congrats on graduating college.
I like how simple yet effective your notes are. I’m usually pretty good at test taking when it comes to certain subjects. Last semester I got a 4.0 with not much effort but that was because my classes were simple, lower division college courses. But this semester I’m taking my hardest class yet, research methods. It’s a more applied version of stats and I didn’t do very good in stats when I took it. So I’m looking at different ways of studying because what I’ve been doing isn’t working for this class. Some tips that have worked for me is writing in pen. For me, writing with pen not only feels better, I feel that because the writing is darker and bolder it sticks better than just pencil. Also, flash cards. At least for terms. Quizlet has a similar feature or flash cards but I feel like actually writing them down helped me a lot. When I took environmental science , for the first test all I did was take notes, went over them a few times, took the test and failed. The next tests i decided to do flash cards and I ended up passing with an A. But I feel like flash cards work best for those classes that have lots of terms. Also color coding. When highlighting have certain colors represent certain things. Like yellow the important stuff, pink the terms, blue the examples and so on. So I guess it all depends on the class. Have different methods for the subject because some methods work better for some classes.
Thank you for saying that you memorize better when you write it down! And I thought I was the only one intimidated by laptops lol I also write faster than I type. Awesome video, and you seem organized with your work. 👌🏼
Thanks! I would call it organized chaos, lol. There was actually a study done that found that people memorize information better when they write it down!
In my goodness thank you so much for making this video I am in 8th grade and got excepted to an early college high school and will graduate with 60 college hours this is going to help me so much
Honestly the best video I've watched on how to a 4.0.. because I was considering recording my lectures but the other videos I watched didn't mention it so I was scared and the pomodoro technique as well Thank you very much for making this video
im not even in college. im a freshman in high school, but i still found this helpful. mostly because so many of the teachers teach like professors because they say itll help us get us in the future if we go to college. they just talk and talk and i never get time to write anything down so i just take a picture of the board them write it later or i just write the heading/title and date on my paper and put it my binder so i remeber what it was i was doing on that day so i can make it up
You have inspired me to reach my goals and you give advice. I look up to people like you because you are successful.Thank you so much for helpful videos
I’m super late, but with the classical music thing you can also play music in a different language bc since you don’t know that language you won’t pay attention to the words too much and instead it’s helpful like the classical music thing
there's usually an option that you can print three slides per page. It'll present them on the left of the paper, and on the right it will give you about 4-5 lines for you to write notes if you wish.
I know some people can not focus with a background noise, but I can't focus without it. I need some type of background music to study or finish my work.
i know this is probably meant for high school and college but i’m going into seventh grade and i’m gonna use this because i think it’s a great strategy
Oh my goodness! This is going to help me out so much! However, I was wondering, for recording lectures and taking pictures did you use your phone or an actual camera/audio recorder? I have some teachers that don't allow us to have out cell phones out during class, so I was curious.
Wow 😮 I’m going to start using some of those tips now and in the spring semester too. I thought the way I use to take notes and study in high school was going to work in college too, and I was wrong in so many levels. Are u originally from Massachusetts? I live in Massachusetts too
College is completely different than high school in terms of note taking! I didn't realize that at first either. And yes, I've lived in MA my whole life :)
I so agree on writing the notes helps you retain the information ( for me) I'm so on top of my online classes thanks for the tips. We have similar styles.I have to make time to make my own study guide I think that's key to organize the way your brain works. What's your profession ?
💩Important💩to know, a good deal of professors take questions directly from Quizlet and use them on their exams. I've seen this with more than one professor. Literally, they copy and paste right off the site and if they don't use Quizlet then there's a good chance it's coming from another site like Quizlet. Best way to find out is Google some of the questions (word for word) and most likely the source will pop right up. Haha, I was listening to this video and looking at Quizlet as you mentioned it. Best of luck, leave a comment if this is helpful and if you've found a similar result.
Thank you that was very helpful! I just want to ask ..what to do if I feel awkward to record my class? Here in my country in not very popular to record your teacher or the class and it's not something we do ..it is a problem if I take just notes ?
Hi, my name is Reggie. I saw your video when searching note taking methods on UA-cam and the points that interested me the most when watching your video was making your own study guides and studying for a certain amount of time then taking a break. Me having the short attention span that I do, studying for a short amount of time then taking a break is something I am definitely going to incorporate next semester as well as your suggestion to make your own study guide. How do you organize your study guides? Do you build them based on the topic and then highlight key points and terms for each subject, or is there another method you use? Please let me know, I'd love to know your answer. Love your video, thanks for the information. Be safe :3
Hey Audrey !! New subscriber here.. Does the pomodoro method really work. This is about the third time I have heard of it . I am a Bio major graduating in December and I am retaking a class. I want to be an efficient study. Thank You

l Yuna l color doesnt equal font and aestethic

true
Other notes can still be realistic even if they are neat and organized. :/
A lot of them write fake notes to film or spend hours writing them after the class
@@madnessofmymind I'm not saying the others are not realistic, I'm saying hers is /more/ realistic. Filza Nashira actual facts sis. All they show is how your notes can look hella good but here’s the thing, NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THAT SHIT.
REAL helpful video. REAL ONE. Most of youtubers are busy to explain how to take pretty notes. Not the REAL METHOD TO TAKE A REAL EFFICIENT NOTES
Thank you SO MUCH! out of all the study tip videos I've seen this is by far the most helpful. I'm only in high school but I'm taking some college courses and I really needed this advice. You've inspired me to start studying and to focus on school, so thank you
Yess such a good idea ! I'm happy I inspired you to work harder in school. Its important !

Audrey Victoria I use blackboard at my school! But I Am only in 7th grade and thank you so much for theses tips I love them and I am gong to use them in school (ps I love you and your vids)❤️🖤💛💚💚💜💕
Hey love the video, I was wondering how to make study guides?
which recorder did you use thats easily transferable?
Audrey Victoria I’m 43 going to school for the first time I found this soooooooooooo helpful. Honestly the best video I've watched on how to a 4.0.. because I was considering recording my lectures but the other videos I watched didn't mention it so I was scared and the pomodoro technique as well
Thank you very much for making this video
No problem! Please just make sure it's ok with your professor first. I always asked for permission before recording.
Audrey Victoria for sure but did you ask before the lecture or did you go to the lecturer during office hours?
I love listening to jazz music when I study 💙
Perfect!! you are absolutely right on for the tips, after my first semester in nursing school, this is the most helpful tips!
Yay! Glad I could help!
I love your videos, I’m going to college next year and this just gives me the motivation I need! I’m making a vision board and everything!!
Thank you! You got this! Vision boards are amazing and so helpful.
I'm going into my 2nd year of college in August, and this video definitely helped alot.
Honesty, I am only in middle school. I will try some for now but I will definitely use these in the future! 😀
Watching this so it inspires me to study
Yay LOL that was my goal. Good luck!👍🏼
im not even in college. im a freshman in high school, but i still found this helpful. mostly because so many of the teachers teach like professors because they say itll help us get us in the future if we go to college. they just talk and talk and i never get time to write anything down so i just take a picture of the board them write it later or i just write the heading/title and date on my paper and put it my binder so i remeber what it was i was doing on that day so i can make it up

You're AMAZINGGG and SO helpful!!! 💘
Awesome !!

+Chelsey Roman thank you! Let me know how they work out for you❤️

Yes there is. I take a lot of notes so I like to do one per page.
This was truly helpful
I listen to piano cover music, it helps so much.
me too, so relaxing and helps me focus.
When I get in to high school, I’m going to use this video to help me study. These tips sound really effective and efficient and easy!!😜😜
Great tips that I will actually use! Thank you so much for posting this!🙏🏼💓
No problem! I’m glad you enjoyed!
Im going into college in the fall and I'm going into psychology so I find these tips very helpful
I know some people can not focus with a background noise, but I can't focus without it. I need some type of background music to study or finish my work.
Thank you for the video. It has been the best refreshers on note taking.
Yay!
i know this is probably meant for high school and college but i’m going into seventh grade and i’m gonna use this because i think it’s a great strategy
I can learn efficiency from any method. For most classes I can just sit and listen, but for History I have to take notes.
Oh my goodness! This is going to help me out so much! However, I was wondering, for recording lectures and taking pictures did you use your phone or an actual camera/audio recorder? I have some teachers that don't allow us to have out cell phones out during class, so I was curious.
You are so clear and detailed. Thank you so much🌸
No problem!
Thank you. I really needed this
Wow 😮 I’m going to start using some of those tips now and in the spring semester too. I thought the way I use to take notes and study in high school was going to work in college too, and I was wrong in so many levels. Are u originally from Massachusetts? I live in Massachusetts too

Thank you so so so SO much I will be trying these tips this year

Yaaa! 👍🏼
have a 3.8 rn, need to get that up!
You can do it!!
thank you so much so helpful
💖☺️
Do you just record on your phone. What pen do you use in your journal
What paper do you use for your study guides?
Hey Audrey !! New subscriber here.. Does the pomodoro method really work. This is about the third time I have heard of it . I am a Bio major graduating in December and I am retaking a class. I want to be an efficient study. Thank You
For the highlighters did you use a specific color for certain things (ex. term, important, etc.)? if so which color did you use for what?
Yes! I would try to use a certain color for key words, another color for longer descriptions of the key words, and things like that. Use your discretion in figuring out which pieces of information are most important to you when note taking, and once the class is over (for the day), look over your notes and highlight things. This is a good way to review after class and to keep things organized.
Since I live with my parents, I am not allowed to have my phone when I go to school.
Can you do a video of how/tips on how to create a study guide please ☺️☺️☺️
I love your study guides lol 😁💗💗💗
I like writing my notes too... 😎
Best video very helpful 🤗
pic idea of prof./teacher idea smart...if allowed. great study diagram simple and to the point. keep it up.

So pretty and such good tips
Your notes are so cute ❤
Thanks💖
This video is everything.. srs it helped me so muchh. 😍😍😍
Yay so glad I could help!
What do you guys do if most of your classes are powerpoints, and the slides are given? I usually print them out three/page with lines on the side, however I feel like I am not learning anything because I am not writing them out. Any suggestions?
I appreciate how you mentioned taking notes on paper rather than a laptop. I am not alone! Lol
So much better!!
I type my notes in class because it takes me a while to write. After my classes for the day I transfer my notes from my computer into a notebook by handwriting them. I also use quizlit
Quizlet is lit lol
Very helpful thank you :)
Np💫
Thank you great summory
