One amazing standard that here in Germany exists is that while reading the architectural plans we think that we are seeing downwards and if the same plans have been converted for structural analysis, then we assume that we are looking upwards.

Thank you William! There are quite a few programs that you can use to create these drawings. From my experience two very popular ones are Revit and AutoCAD :)
