In this video, we are talking about the education system and how language learning can be more effective.
I was in high school, and I met an Italian boy at a festival. I spoke Russian and English but he only spoke Italian. So I decided to learn his language, annoyed at not understanding him. I received from an acquaintance the second volume of an Italian book published in 1929, where the first lesson was the aria from the opera I Pagliacci by Leoncavallo. I visited the library daily as it was the only place where I found a dictionary. However, my knowledge has developed quite well. A fiúval évekig leveleztünk. I translated everything I could find from the magazines, sometimes back and forth. Since then I have taken state exams in English and Italian and all my works were related to foreign languages (I also expanded my linguistic knowledge with German). Well, this is my motivation story.

Nagyon ügyes vagy, csak így tovább. Tetszett a régi nő kifejezésed, ezen is latszik, hogy te nem vagy egy feladós típus. (Nem az a típus vagy, aki feladja.)
Ero al liceo, e incontrai un ragazzo italiano a un festival. Io parlavo russo e inglese ma lui parlava solo italiano. Cosi ho deciso di imparare la sua lingua, seccata di non capirlo. Ho ricevuto da un conoscente il secondo volume di un libro d'italiano pubblicato nel 1929, dove la prima lezione era l'aria dell'opera I Pagliacci di Leoncavallo. Visitai quotidianamente la biblioteca dato che era l'unico posto dove trovai un dizionario. Tuttavia, la mia conoscenza si è sviluppata abbastanza bene. A fiúval évekig leveleztünk. Ho tradotto tutto quello che potevo trovare dalle riviste, a volte avanti e indietro. Da allora ho sostenuto esami di stato in inglese e italiano e tutti i miei lavori erano legati alle lingue straniere (ho ampliato le mie conoscenze linguistiche anche con il tedesco). Be', questa è la mia storia di motivazione.

I am Romanian, I am learning Hungarian too, his accent is amazing and he speaks fluently, much better than me (I am at about an A2 level after 7 years of on-and-off learning)

I've been studying Hungarian for 11 years and to talk is still very difficult. He has a lot of confidence when he speaks.
It's true, "Hungarians are everywhere!" I live in Vienna and ever since I started learning Hungarian, I notice Hungarians speaking around me. I guess before they would have just blended into the background of people speaking a language i don't know. It's so exciting to be able to hear and somewhat understand them now!
Yay, that's so great you are in a 'real' Hungarian environment! 😄 That must be cool to catch more and more parts of what they are saying.
Uram Berényi André vagyok apam 1956-ban kivandorolt USA-ban, az édes anyam Francia, Francia az anyanyelvem pedig tanultam magyar nyelvet nulla szint-tol. Nagyon erdekes ami szeretem is ez a vidéki falvak foleg azért a csaladom szamazik Nogradbol. On nyelvet Olasz nyelvet gyonoru tervezem azt is tanulni.

It's really nice to see how genuine he is. When he doesn't know a word, he asks right away to the teacher instead of faking it or worse, reading a script as some sogenannte polyglots do
I watched it with Dutch subtitle (the translate to Dutch option) because I am advanced level in Dutch, and I could understand a few words in Hungarian that I already knew - am also learning German, and sogenannte = zogenaamde in Dutch! By the way, Hungarian is a category 3 language, same as Irish and Scottish Gaelic - it’s not as hard as ppl make it out to be! It’s not as easy as Dutch / English / Norwegian (the easiest languages ever) etc, but it’s nowhere near as hard as Arabic languages / Korean / Chinese / Japanese / Thai / Vietnamese / Indian languages etc - I am intermediate level in Norwegian / German / Swedish etc and beginner level in Hungarian / Welsh / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Breton / Manx / Cornish / French etc!

Szia I’m a native swede but I am learning Hungarian (I’m just starting to speak it and love the challenge) unfortunately it sounds really odd with a Swedish accent but still a really fun language to speak, it’s beautiful sounding when spoken properly!

I am sure your accent is OK. You have some advantages being Swedish like voice Ő for example.
@@nikocat2008 ye that is one of the few letters I know how to pronounce in Hungarian! Which helps that I can use my native language to speak some words correctly

Azt hisztem, magyarként szokni kell azt az érzést, hogy valaki megtanulja az anyanyelvünket. Fantasztikus érzés és egyben rá is mutat, hogy mennyire polarizálódott a világ az egyszerűsítés (meg persze a gyarmatosítás) miatt.

I have been learning Hungarian for 6 days and I can already understand this! I'm so happy! Of course there are some crazy words now and then, but they'll come with time. Keep doing what you're doing!

Hungarian is a category 2 language, same as Old Norse / Icelandic / Old English / Faroese / Gothic etc, while Irish and Scottish Gaelic are category 3 languages with a spelling that’s harder than that of Hungarian - it’s not as hard as ppl make it out to be! It’s not as easy as Dutch / English / Norwegian (the easiest languages ever) etc, but it’s nowhere near as hard as Arabic languages / Korean / Chinese / Japanese / Thai / Vietnamese / Indian languages etc! I am advanced level in Dutch and intermediate level in Norwegian / German / Swedish and Portuguese / Italian / French etc and beginner level in Hungarian / Icelandic / Old Norse/ Welsh / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Breton / Manx / Cornish etc!

Érdekes, izgalmas beszélgetés. Sajnos elkeserítő hallani, hogy nem csak a poliglot úriember, hanem az interjúztató is csak a "nagyon" segítségével tud fokozni, minőségjelzőket használni. Van erre egy jó mondás a Holt költők társasága című filmben.
Omg he talks a lot I was torn between being impressed and annoyed lol.. He didn't give any tips of note and it was rather a monologue of self love. That said he spoke very well and you have a lot of patience 😉

My advice to Hungarians : Forget EU !! They will destroy you !
Very impressive, well done Luca. Some remarks, if you don't mind. Use fewer definitive articles. Do not put the Hungarian article, 'a' before city or country names, like Hungary, Budapest, France and the language itself. Tehát nem 'a Budapest', simply Budapest. Magyarországon fogok élni. No 'a' before it. MIért 'pont' magyarul? Not 'Senki beszél' but 'senki se beszél'. Double negation in Hungarian! Not 'képes leszek beszélni', hanem 'foguk tudni beszélni'. Not Hasznos bármit tanulni', but bármit 'is' tanulni.

Nézd vissza a videót, engem nagyon nagyon idegesít a beszéd közbeni őzésed miért van ez. A férfi is átvette az őzést.
Ha mar magyarul tanulunk,akkor hasznaljunk magyar szavakat. Ne vergodjetek a polyglot,coach szavskkal,pusztan azert,hogy halado PCnek tunjetek.
A poliglott szerintem magyar szó, a polyglot valóban nem. A coach szóra nem tudok magyar megfelelőt, neked van ötleted? És mit jelent a "haladó PC"?
@@easyhungarian Nem magyar szo a poliglot,soha nem hallottam a magyar nyelvben. Van ra normalis szinonima,nem kell ez. PC,azt jelenti,polkorrekt. Ennyire azert nem kell haladonak lenni.
@@melianhoover1910 az idegen szavak használatától valóban nem leszünk haladó PC-k. Viszont a világ olyan gyorsan változik, hogy sajnos ma már képtelenség minden új fogalomra, új dologra magyar szót alkotni. Így jobb híján marad a coach. De a poliglott tényleg magyar szó, szótárban is szerepel. 😉
Ha érdekel a nyelvművelés, és hogy hogyan működik a nyelv, ajánlom Nádasdy Ádám Milyen nyelv a magyar? című könyvét, szerintem zseniális.
