For real, though. The upstairs in the library is a bad place to not have hooks because survivors abuse it as a safe zone where the killer can't get them. It's also a bad place to have hooks because the killer can block the stairs and force a kill. It's nothing but trouble, and really should just be blocked off by a fallen bookcase or some random debris or a barricade made of chairs or tables. There's no good reason to keep it in the game.
I mean, running into there is ALSO a time waste to try and get a survivor up, so if the boon gets snuffed out, its sandbagging. Even more, stealth killers can just catch them leaving using stealth (if they're not leaving, its sandbagging again lmao survivor basically eliminated), and finnaly, it DOES require coordination from survivors and/or multiple boons of expo, so, overall, i think its a pretty reasonable place.
@@destroidhak2556 its not sandbagging and not bannable. as long as the killer is able to kill people ( slow but he can by slugging ) or the survivors can do gens its all legit. they could just widen the upper floor so the killer cant body block or just add a second stair case.

One thing that pissed me off way more than something like that is when 2 survs decide to Hide the Rest of the game and do nothing. I had a game were it took me over 20 Minutes to find one of them. Map was Haddonfield, and both had Spinechill·-·
when i was playing legion in a match, one of the survivors hid the entire match and used the perk that lets you see hatch to escape. didnt even see them once
Had a game recently where the survivors sent us to Badham with basement offering in shack, flip flop boil over etc etc. I snuffed their exponential in main, ended up bleeding them out down there (except those who crawled out so I could hook them). One of them called me bad because I "couldn't counter" their "strategy", and I'm gonna be sorry when bhvr adds basekit unbreakable. Truly the survivor mains of all time
I remember having done this to me in Badham when I was still a baby killer on Nemesis. They sent me there with map offering and put the basement in shack, so that they could do this in the school underground. I was so frustrated at them just permanently getting up, having endurance and doing 2 boons all the time. They all also had sabo toolboxes for the only hook that was near the school where I could carry a survivor, that is if I managed to get that far after all the body blocking. After good 15 minutes of bullying I managed to get a hook and somehow they started crumbling by failing unhooks or getting bad trade unhooks. Once one of them died, they tried to do gens, but it was too late. I got my sweet revenge after 2nd kill by slugging the remaining 2 of them until they both bled out \o/
they sent me with map offering to garden joy, i could not find the last two, one found me instead lol, we spend like 40-55 min on the map with 4 gens remaining and untouched for 30min
I don't really mind playing against this kind of 'bully squad' (more like troll/meme squad) because you WILL beat them, even if it takes longer and is more monotonous than playing against a regular team.

Quickly realised there was no way to get them to any of the hooks there - so once i managed to injure them all and herd them into a corner i just had a good long game of whack a mole until they all bled out lmao The worst part is they had the nerve to drop a gg like they played normally
I must say it is funny that all this could be resolved with the boons not having an infinite high area of effect. Instead it should be a spheric area of effekt. But well done to show these guys how to do it.
no1 is held hostage the survivors have a bleed out timer and can be countered if the killer plays right ... ( like hens did, focus the boon totem and the setter ) its only hostage if all 4 survivors are in that totem corner and u body block them in there.
They removed the hooks because killer could get an "easy" kill up there while blocking the only way to get upstairs. They just didn't think of the consequences

I'm not gonna lie I think they should disable map offerings when playing swf...A lot of imbalance comes from running a specific build for the whole squad that's strong on a certain map (e.g. old balanced + haddonfield offering). If you couldn't guarantee a map they wouldn't benefit from having the whole team run a build because it may not even be the map you're hoping for. People would just run whatever and you'd have like a 1 in 50 chance of getting 1 person with this build on this map. I mean yeah a big issue is just their awful map balance but disabling offerings for swf would at least prevent THIS for the time being until they fix their maps :/ I think in general it's a good idea because having a team on comms AND a map they are confident/comfortable with...is a bit strong...even without using certain perks for that map.
On one hand, it can be really frustrating knowing you're being (presumably) sent somewhere where there the killer / survivors have an advantage. On the other, I like the idea of being able to influence your map. I feel like the issue is more so in bad map design more than it is map offerings. For example, crotus is a pretty decent map for either side - one map is a little more survivor sided, the other more killer sided, so you're probably just going for the aesthetic of the map. Would you really be mad to see a crotus offering?
The devs continues to balance the maps and perks, you see how they added hooks for this location compared to before, they balanced balance landing, and now they made a new Hadonfield.
This map would unironically be better if it had the entire third floor available to all players. What I mean by this is that if they added the third floor: -They could add new Hook spawns and areas to unhook survivors to avoid all exploits with the library -They could add new generator spawns to give incentive to go up there -They could allow players to easily traverse the RPD without having to go through very confusing hallways; it'd just be a straight line from one hall to the next; and a new path on the third floor's main hall area can be added to make it a full rectangle to go around
Had that happen to me a few times. Whenever that does happen, I just continue slugging them till they can't get up anymore, let them bleed out or mori them. It's a dirty countermethod, and I've had players dc on me when I made use of it. But hey - that's the way the game is played. You play dirty with me, I play dirty back. At least I'm having fun 😂

This is one of the reasons I hate boon. Totems are sometimes out of the way which is fine when you have a team of 4 but not too good when one person has to deal with it and pressure.

I once had a boil over guy trying this on me, before the boil over nerf. The problem? He was solo queue. The moment he saw me, he went to library. The first time he went there, i didn't even follow him inside the library. Fuck that place, yknow? He stayed there the entire match, tea bagging in silence. His exponential was inside the corner of the library that he stayed in, so after i downed him, he was there for a long time. Also, i was playing spirit, so basically it was a 3v1 RPD spirit game. I won, obviously. Killed the 3 survivours (even though they were good, gens weren't popping with 3 players.) And closed the hatch on him. He didn't even flinch from the library. Even when the hatch opened. He stayed in the library. I closed the hatch, obviously (it wasn't in the library) and just looked at him dying to endgame collapse. When it was the endgame chat, he said "EZ can't hook me" and left instantly. 10/10, sandbagged his team on RPD, would recommend this survivour
Had someone try something similar by going into the far corner. They expected me to slug them and go away to hook the last survivor so they could unbreakable. However they didn't expect me to watch them bleed out because I had enough of their bs.
They should remove Boon’s ability to work vertically (so you have to be on the same level as the boon for it to work) it would remove situations like this where they can place a boon 2 levels below that makes this spot really strong and will also counter the maps where circle of healing etc are really strong as a person can’t be in top floor of mid which and be healing from a boon in the courtyard
Very far in the future from a year ago when this was posted, but I just bring a ward that blocks the map offerings... Now instead of being on a horrible map for killer I only get a bad map for killer. Win in my book though, because these kinds of swfs are usually only prepared for literally one map and just give up when sent to another.
Its absolutely jarring to me that they reverted the change they made to the library instead of doing the most common sense thing of just disabling the map. Guess its fine for survivors to hold killers games hostage preventing them from doing their main method of killing; while bad that that the killer body blocked the stairs to guarantee a kill. Literally all they have to do is always have a hook spawn in library and make it so that hooks don't get destroyed when a survivor dies on it, there problem solved. And for boons: One time use that's it.

Someone did that to me before they changed the map and most of them ended up bleeding out. Some of them were running Boil Over as well. No Boon: Exponential though, thankfully.
I was an artist in mac miller the one with the second floor of the metal stairs in the side I think, I just slugged them I never hooked them at all it was funny yet stressful
Honestly. The best thing would be just putting back up their former buff of dead hooks coming back to life once used and coming back quicker if a survivor sabo's the hook. Plus having hooks where survivors would absolutely abuse places of maps that killers can do nothing about. Thus effectively ending such things. It'd simply solve most things by bringing back resurrecting hooks because survivors will always abuse these places no matter what "just to spite the killer in not getting the kills" or because they got beaten by being less better than their killer.
I dont even understand why the library exists in this map. No one goes in the library except to abuse it there is nothing there for anyone but an OP boon spawn, a chest and that's it

This happened to me, I was wraith and three petrified with badge… and I played bloody party streamers, I actually killed one so fast they dc before I could third hook them, the rest of them did this too library crap and I just kept slugging and I made them ALL dc. Treat others the way you wanna be treated.
played as pyramid head against a squad like this today. they just kept crouching through the trails but even that wasnt enough to stop me from getting a 3k (last guy got hatch).
I tried to suggest for a couple of years that map offerings should ban maps from the pool not force you to go to a specific map. If your a survivor which hates a particular map that's cool to ban or a killer who is very weak on some map you just ban it. Forcing what map you can go to just negative consequences for the current map offerings system
@G. S the hooks at the library got removed. I respect the immediate kill switch of broken perks. Nurse bugs got fixed after a super long time. Dead hard validation hit got fixed after months. I don't say Devs hate killers. I just say that sometimes things are obviously balanced around casual survivors
theres no counter to a killer facecamping the stair case but theres plenty of counters to the survivors so if i had to choose i would also remove the upstairs hook

@@judas1213 they arent gonna leave the area so u have all the time in the world to snuff the boon and kill them like hens did ... if everything goes wrong then they will bleed out in 4 minutes at worst, giving u a 4k victory. on the other hand the killer can facecamp the stairs for competetive advantage ( winning the game ) and under certain circumstances hold the game hostage for 1 or multiple survivors for a 2 Hour duration. no1 is held hostage by the survivors, u will win eventually. if u are the last survivor and got cornered while trying to save ur teammate he can literally body block until the session times out
You can also prevent the hooks in the libery with at least 2 of the purple offrings that make hooks have a bigger distance between each other. But it's not 100%
At the very least they weren't doing this with two while the other two were slamming gens. Personally i dont mind having games like this where its more of a puzzle and a battle vs race against the clock. However, that's giving the benefit of the doubt to random survivors. THESE people in particular showed their hand with the DC's instead of playing it out. If you want to change the win condition, play it out and find where the flaws are, come on.

Honestly I wouldn't be so harsh on them: they just wanted to fuck around, okay, that's surely annoying but at the same time it almost always ends with death. Especially if it's whole squad trying to fuck around with the killer, instead of playing the game. They get a little bit of fun, but in the end they usually die, so no hard feelings. Worse part is if it's only one person, cause you might lose enough time on them, so the rest do the gens and they might get away with that.

Yeah but you’d bleed out eventually if the killer stayed next to you. Picking up with no mither only makes you recover by 25% more speed I think, so you’d bleed out eventually. Exponential makes you do it 100% faster

@@adamsfinger801 I've seen the proper strat, if a dull spawns upstairs, one person sneaks around on the very bottom level, and makes a boon, when the killer snuffs it, the upstairs people have enough time to bless the dull, the killer sniffs it, slugs the three others, and by then the downstairs blendette lights the boon again. Game will go for about an hour before anyone bleeds to death, and if the blendette is running circle with exponential, then every rotation of snuffing results in the slugs getting full healed. Theres also an infinite strat if the dull is up there, bless it as healing, all 4 people run streetwise with a purple medkit and max heal speed addons, the killer hits you, you get healed in just over 2 seconds, 4 streetwise (one guy in the back with leader as well) gives infinite item charges. If you position yourselves right the person who gets hit will take the next hit even if the killer is inside them from the post hit body block meshing.

Because they are actually not playing the game as its intended, they are not trying to complete their objective. It is a huge waste of time. Their endgame goal is not to escape it is to waste as much time as possible. It's okay if you don't have any problem with that but I would rather not. People would just run whatever and you'd have like a 1 in 50 chance of getting 1 person with this build on this map.
I mean yeah a big issue is just their awful map balance but disabling offerings for swf would at least prevent THIS for the time being until they fix their maps :/ I think in general it's a good idea because having a team on comms AND a map they are confident/comfortable with...is a bit strong...even without using certain perks for that map.

On one hand, it can be really frustrating knowing you're being (presumably) sent somewhere where there the killer / survivors have an advantage. On the other, I like the idea of being able to influence your map. I feel like the issue is more so in bad map design more than it is map offerings. For example, crotus is a pretty decent map for either side - one map is a little more survivor sided, the other more killer sided, so you're probably just going for the aesthetic of the map. Would you really be mad to see a crotus offering?
No one should be able to select the map. Invert map offerings, they now ban maps instead of select them.

The devs continues to balance the maps and perks, you see how they added hooks for this location compared to before, they balanced balance landing, and now they made a new Hadonfield.

After playing DBD pre-COH nerf i can say that for a game, its not much. That's why im a plague main
This map would unironically be better if it had the entire third floor available to all players. What I mean by this is that if they added the third floor:
-They could add new Hook spawns and areas to unhook survivors to avoid all exploits with the library
-They could add new generator spawns to give incentive to go up there
-They could allow players to easily traverse the RPD without having to go through very confusing hallways; it'd just be a straight line from one hall to the next; and a new path on the third floor's main hall area can be added to make it a full rectangle to go around
Had that happen to me a few times. Whenever that does happen, I just continue slugging them till they can't get up anymore, let them bleed out or mori them. It's a dirty countermethod, and I've had players dc on me when I made use of it. But hey - that's the way the game is played. You play dirty with me, I play dirty back.

This is one of the reasons I hate boon. Totems are sometimes out of the way which is fine when you have a team of 4 but not too good when one person has to deal with it and pressure.

I once had a boil over guy trying this on me, before the boil over nerf.
The problem? He was solo queue. The moment he saw me, he went to library. The first time he went there, i didn't even follow him inside the library. Fuck that place, yknow? He stayed there the entire match, tea bagging in silence. His exponential was inside the corner of the library that he stayed in, so after i downed him, he was there for a long time. Also, i was playing spirit, so basically it was a 3v1 RPD spirit game. I won, obviously. Killed the 3 survivours (even though they were good, gens weren't popping with 3 players.) And closed the hatch on him. He didn't even flinch from the library. Even when the hatch opened. He stayed in the library. I closed the hatch, obviously (it wasn't in the library) and just looked at him dying to endgame collapse. When it was the endgame chat, he said "EZ can't hook me" and left instantly.
10/10, sandbagged his team on RPD, would recommend this survivour

Had someone try something similar by going into the far corner. They expected me to slug them and go away to hook the last survivor so they could unbreakable. However they didn't expect me to watch them bleed out because I had enough of their bs.
They should remove Boon’s ability to work vertically (so you have to be on the same level as the boon for it to work) it would remove situations like this where they can place a boon 2 levels below that makes this spot really strong and will also counter the maps where circle of healing etc are really strong as a person can’t be in top floor of mid which and be healing from a boon in the courtyard

Very far in the future from a year ago when this was posted, but I just bring a ward that blocks the map offerings... Now instead of being on a horrible map for killer I only get a bad map for killer. Win in my book though, because these kinds of swfs are usually only prepared for literally one map and just give up when sent to another.
Its absolutely jarring to me that they reverted the change they made to the library instead of doing the most common sense thing of just disabling the map. Guess its fine for survivors to hold killers games hostage preventing them from doing their main method of killing; while bad that that the killer body blocked the stairs to guarantee a kill. Literally all they have to do is always have a hook spawn in library and make it so that hooks don't get destroyed when a survivor dies on it, there problem solved. And for boons: One time use that's it.

Imagine if that hook wasn’t there or he killed one of them on it. A meme? It’s more like an exploit than a meme. It can literally stall games for a long time and prevent killers from doing their main method of killing survivors. Guess blood pact + OoO was just an happy accident for you? Or breakable walls in Dead Dawg and Badham not appearing in main buildings creating a infinite and massive god loop is just another happy accident?

Someone did that to me before they changed the map and most of them ended up bleeding out. Some of them were running Boil Over as well. No Boon: Exponential though, thankfully.

Honestly. The best thing would be just putting back up their former buff of dead hooks coming back to life once used and coming back quicker if a survivor sabo's the hook. Plus having hooks where survivors would absolutely abuse places of maps that killers can do nothing about. Thus effectively ending such things. It'd simply solve most things by bringing back resurrecting hooks because survivors will always abuse these places no matter what "just to spite the killer in not getting the kills" or because they got beaten by being less better than their killer.

This happened to me, I was wraith and three petrified with badge… and I played bloody party streamers, I actually killed one so fast they dc before I could third hook them, the rest of them did this too library crap and I just kept slugging and I made them ALL dc.

pyramidhead is the biggest counter to teams or certain players like this, just place ur trails when u down them and, you know, let them walk in it
played as pyramid head against a squad like this today. they just kept crouching through the trails but even that wasnt enough to stop me from getting a 3k (last guy got hatch).

I tried to suggest for a couple of years that map offerings should ban maps from the pool not force you to go to a specific map. If your a survivor which hates a particular map that's cool to ban or a killer who is very weak on some map you just ban it. Forcing what map you can go to just negative consequences for the current map offerings system
it also affects challenges negatively since it would take a decent amount of grinding just to do a challenge

@G. S the hooks at the library got removed. I respect the immediate kill switch of broken perks. Nurse bugs got fixed after a super long time. Dead hard validation hit got fixed after months. I don't say Devs hate killers. I just say that sometimes things are obviously balanced around casual survivors

on the other hand the killer can facecamp the stairs for competetive advantage ( winning the game ) and under certain circumstances hold the game hostage for 1 or multiple survivors for a 2 Hour duration.
no1 is held hostage by the survivors, u will win eventually.
if u are the last survivor and got cornered while trying to save ur teammate he can literally body block until the session times out

You can also prevent the hooks in the libery with at least 2 of the purple offrings that make hooks have a bigger distance between each other. But it's not 100%
At the very least they weren't doing this with two while the other two were slamming gens. Personally i dont mind having games like this where its more of a puzzle and a battle vs race against the clock. However, that's giving the benefit of the doubt to random survivors. THESE people in particular showed their hand with the DC's instead of playing it out.
If you want to change the win condition, play it out and find where the flaws are, come on.

Honestly I wouldn't be so harsh on them: they just wanted to fuck around, okay, that's surely annoying but at the same time it almost always ends with death. Especially if it's whole squad trying to fuck around with the killer, instead of playing the game. They get a little bit of fun, but in the end they usually die, so no hard feelings. Worse part is if it's only one person, cause you might lose enough time on them, so the rest do the gens and they might get away with that.

Yeah but you’d bleed out eventually if the killer stayed next to you. Picking up with no mither only makes you recover by 25% more speed I think, so you’d bleed out eventually. Exponential makes you do it 100% faster

@@adamsfinger801 I've seen the proper strat, if a dull spawns upstairs, one person sneaks around on the very bottom level, and makes a boon, when the killer snuffs it, the upstairs people have enough time to bless the dull, the killer sniffs it, slugs the three others, and by then the downstairs blendette lights the boon again. Game will go for about an hour before anyone bleeds to death, and if the blendette is running circle with exponential, then every rotation of snuffing results in the slugs getting full healed.
Theres also an infinite strat if the dull is up there, bless it as healing, all 4 people run streetwise with a purple medkit and max heal speed addons, the killer hits you, you get healed in just over 2 seconds, 4 streetwise (one guy in the back with leader as well) gives infinite item charges. If you position yourselves right the person who gets hit will take the next hit even if the killer is inside them from the post hit body block meshing.

Because they are actually not playing the game as its intended, they are not trying to complete their objective. It is a huge waste of time. Their endgame goal is not to escape it is to waste as much time as possible. It's okay if you don't have any problem with that but I would rather not. I think I am fully grown up I don't know why you are so overly offended by me disliking this strategy.

You will get the 4K guaranteed in the end, so I don’t know why you’re mad anyway since that’s not holding hostage. Also, it’s not like being held hostage for 3+ hours or something, it’s 10-20 mins maximum and you have potential to shorten that if you capitalise on their mistakes. That’s not called holding someone hostage

I want to have fun in actual chases, but they wanted to have fun with 5 percent of the map while they assume that the killer and random survivor is fine with it. I understand your argument though because I had fun watching them scramble and get killed at library while I tbagged them.

For example, lets say you were the last survivor alive and you were looking for hatch but end up hiding in a corner because the killer is nearby, lets say the killer stands in front of you and goes AFK thus preventing you from doing anything would you consider that fair? if not then keep in mind that by your logic it has "Plenty of counterplay" because you could have stayed away from the corner in the first place.
