Love the wash basin; one of my most valued items is a bucket. I have a 5 gallon and a 2.5 gallon. I won't carry them on a pack, but they are my choice for handwashing items. I recommend 3 wash basins for a cabin, one for soapy water, one for bleach water, and one for plain water. That is how we washed dishes at summer camp. Yes you can use cord, but nails at a permanent is great to hang your coat off the snow when chopping wood and you get warm, as well as hanging other gear like a bow saw, etc., really anything you use often and don't want to lose.
You forgot to mention a whetstone to use for sharpening edged tools. You can sharpen a machete with a file, but you can't sharpen a knife with a file. There are all kinds of whetstones available. Some are puck shaped, some are brick shaped, some are the ceramic rods. Get whatever kind that blows your skirt up, just remember to include SOMETHING to sharpen your tools. A small 1 or 2 ounce squeeze bottle of tool oil is also useful to pack.
3 big recommendations pack it all up go hiking threw rough terrain for half day stop male camp tear down and head back will help you eliminate major issues things like over weight things being caught on obstacles and how it feels in general number 2 try to find at least 2 uses for every item if it cant preform 2 tasks its probably not worth carrying and 3 go out for a week with this bag even if its just a short walk from home only use whats in it i saw a lot of things that would get used up quickly or wouldn't get used at all... generally its your bag so i cant comment on what you bring if you think its a good item than bring it but be careful with size and weight
‘I’m never coming home’ = INCH. Different mindset than a BOB. Carry as much as you can, push your body to do more. It will respond. If I have to dump along the way, I will. I’ve hiked with this pack many times. It is heavy. A lot worse things than weight in a INCH situation. Can’t go get more.
have a basic BOB for 3-5 days food . fishing kit snares 10 22 to extend food rations if i have to walk if i can stay with truck have a cap for it 10 gal of gas with siphon hose , 8 man tent food for 5-7 days grill to go over fire pots pans etc etc etc am looking at electric 12 " bar chainsaw and ways to recharge batteries have knowledge to smoke /dry meat using fire
you can't have a fire during a dugout. Take non-cook food, like flour tortillas, packets of salad dressing, nut butters, jellies, Koolaid, granola, jerky, powdered milk.
U got the helikon-tex swagman roll and the poncho liner that van be your shelter and part of your clothing. Cut the weight of yoir tent, winter clothes,
Excellent video! You have an awesome inch kit, one of the best I’ve seen on UA-cam. What do you think of the idea of carrying a large pry bar? I’m recently thinking this would be an excellent edition to my inch kit with the thoughts of breaking into abandoned buildings/vehicles etc in mind plus the self defence aspect of having one, with no doubt many other uses. It would be nice to have a real roof over head from time to time and would help with finding resources. What do you think?
Thanks for commenting. Seems like a lot of extra weight but overall an excellent thought. Maybe consider adding a small bar to your kit to see how it goes first?
I’m black and let me be the first to say, there’s nothing wrong with being a red neck, just like it’s nothing wrong with flying a rebel flag, of that’s what you want to do. Too many people are wrapped up in there feelings. #DoyouandBeyou2024
This video is not a right vs wrong issue. What works for me, may not work for others and I am completely aware. I have carried this exact pact as shown on mock bug out hikes many times with friends for 3-4 mile hikes. A well balanced bag is a consideration.
This is for car camping right? This would make zero sense to haul! If your carrying this you obviously romanticize bugging out and don’t have much experience carrying things. Why a full size tube of tooth paste? Giant candles? Your worried about washing dishes in a bugout scenario? I could go on and on with your items that make no sense to lug around! Honestly I truly thought it was a joke when I saw full jars of peanut butter and a coffee press full size!! With NO COFFEE.. THAN 4 bear traps and a giant spear. Your plunking is right?!!!! Everyone can go to their garage and grab camping gear and set it out on a table and say “this is what I would carry” it’s ridiculous. Dude this is twilight zone. I have officially seen it all. Do what fits YOU not what everyone else does also. This is just my opinion. I will say thanks for putting a video out and content, you do have some cool gear. 👍
Instead of bug spray take your clothes that you’re going to put in there and treat them with permethrin. Then you have your own built-in bug repellent in your clothes.
Thanks for commenting. Its an old Jansport I picked up on ebay. Plans to upgrade it haven't materialized yet. You can see a shot of it in this video - ua-cam.com/video/MuEl90tStzQ/v-deo.html
in a month, the livestock, produce and stored grains will be gone, once shtf. in another money, the game, fish and known-edible wild plants will be gone. In another month, the dogs and cats will have been eaten and the cannibalism will start in-earnest. You can't be above ground except at night and then only for one hour as you cook a meal. You can't have food in your tunnel, cause it will attract dogs, which will attract humans. You can't make noise, or show a light at night, or have a fire in daylight. If you break these rules, you wont last a month. It takes 1000 lbs of food to feed an adult for a year, and that food costs about $1000 if you know how to go about acquiring it. dont count upon hunting, trapping or fishing! 6 months after shtf, 90% of the population will be dead. 99% in a year. Then you can be a lot safer (at night) tending your small, hidden plots of sprouts, root veggies and peanuts. shtf is going to be hell on earth, for everyone. If you get underground right away, you'll be 10x more likely to get thru that first year.
I’m 57 yrs old. I squat 315 for 3 sets twice a week, my resting heart rate is 47 and there is no quit in me. Longest hike with that exact pack so far is 4 miles. I’m more worried about the pack breaking than me.
@@theundercoverredneck in that case, fair play sir. Last case scenario, you just leave stuff on the trail. It's important training with your kit, cause many preppers only put the kit together and let it sit on a shelf without even going on a hike with it. All the best my man 👍🏻

Love the thinking behind a lot of the ideas you use. I completely get it! Tools are exactly where it's at. Subbed
The last time we lost water at home everyone ran to the store to try to get water, I went to the hardware store for a new bucket instead!

Agreed. I use it to collect water, wash dishes, navy showers and even food prep. Thanks for commenting.
You Have Pretty Dogs And Good Survival Items.
Thank you
A lot of smart decisions in this video including the BK7, the Estwing (mine is a hatchet), and the traps.
Nice kit. I'm curious as to the combined weight of all that gear
Thanks for your comment. 64 lbs.
Some of the info you got from those youtubers is where I got them too haha good stuff man
Agreed. I think the key is just getting out in the field to see what works then revising. Thanks for watching Ernie!

64 lbs. My pack will break before I do.
If You got to carry a heavy pack you might buy or make a monowalker.
Nice kit but we alot of unnecessary dead weight.

Get some powdered peanut butter it’s lighter and gives you more of it than a regular jar of peanut butter.
I keep seeing the big jars at Costco definitely gonna grab a jar next time I go
If you remember the Maine prepped you’ve definitely been around the block. Nice bag
I saw that someone on youtube has put together a "re-run" of his videos. Great guy with great thoughts & ideas.
Great set up I'd love to see a review just on the helikon tex bag!!
I'm working on it...

I hope that you have super human strength and endurance to carry 64 lbs INCH bag though all kind of terrains all day everyday, miles upon miles.
I do.
Been there done that >>>>
Now i drag mine on a 2 wheel cart.
Don't get old
@@tomcatt998 smart, bug out cart + medium bug out bag is a much better way

I stopped by your channel to gain some insight on how to make videos or assemble an INCH bag. You have 1 video.

How many times you said i love this - I love that?

What pack is this going in? I'm just curious how it looks packed up.
No hate but this is a bit overkill if this is for a Bug out bag. If its for bunking in it makes sense
Who is the bushcraft you Mentioned with the long name? You said it so fast, couldn't catch it
Bertram - Craft and Wilderness
His actual name is Rune Malte Bertram-Nielsen
What bag are you carrying all this in?

That wash bin may not weigh much but it takes alot of space
I’ve packed it with and without, the space I gained was negligible. May not be sexy piece of gear but it works for me.

The bigest pouch on your belt system is helikon?
No. The belt rig is made by Helicon-Tex
I appreciate the video, just can't see you going too far with so much weight

Nice load out but you should put more effort into your fishing kit. 95% of what your gonna eat bugging out will be fish from ponds.
williamsfield wildman Agreed. thanks for the input WW.
You must be built like Brock Lesnar lol
