i love this film. everytime i switch a channel and its on i watch a bit and it makes me laugh every single time. it playes like a series of sketches and they are all realy funny. also somehow the overall story still works. one of the only films that makes me laugh out loud
Steven: we have to be sure we don't hurt each other right? Chip: I can not listen to your instruction as you are my sworn enemy. and you are about to meet your demise. Lol
The scene at Medieval Times where Chip asks for Steven's chicken skin and then performs his The Silence of the Lambs impression was all improvised. During one take, Carrey asked for the chicken skin out of nowhere. After doing the "Silence of the Lambs" bit, director Ben Stiller loved it and wanted to keep it in the film even though it wasn't in the script. If you look at Matthew Broderick's face during this scene, you can tell he is cracking up. His reaction is a genuine laugh.
If you don't expect this movie to be like his previous films then this is a pretty good film. This film actually has quite a dark tone, so you could call this a black comedy.
Jim Carrey is a comic genius. Cable Guy was a great movie that got taken down by reviewers for no reason except that Carrey's previous 4 movies did 100 million dollars+ and just couldn't take his runaway success so they talked it down. But the movie is one of Carrey's best. The film appears in many "Movies that were erroneously Maligned" articles. He is a definite Star Trek fan as you can tell. He did a Star Trek bit in his first movie "Ace Ventura Pet Detective".
I love this part,I've been to this restaurant twice and it's so cool,a little expensive though. You get 2 drinks(beer,Pepsi,Diet Pepsi or water)dragons soup(tomatoe soup) 1/2 baked chicken,1 bbq rib,1/2 a potatoe,1 piece of garlic toast which is pretty good and a small apple pie for dessert for about $50. Peace
Jim-0Dos thus have thou a mug of ale for me and me mate, for he hath been pitched in battle for a fortnight and has the king's thirst for the frosty brew dos thou might have for thus!!!! Waitress/Wench - I'll be right back my LORD!
