Miraflores, Lima, Peru - One of the best neighborhood to live in or stay in when you visit Lima is Miraflores. It’s a great area to walk around, there are parks, oceanside, and plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping. We landed in Lima, got checked into our apartment (www.airbnb.com/c/markw149), and immediately took a walk to go eat lunch. Here’s a little walking tour of Miraflores, Lima. #Lima #Peru #travel

Océano Azul - I just searched this restaurant on Google and it looks pretty good and it was in walking distance from our apartment. Ceviche was pretty good, and a nice atmosphere and staff. Total price - 196 PEN ($59.33)
Parque Kennedy - This is a main landmark and park in Miraflores. It’s great to walk around, stroll, and people hang out at the park until l ate at night. You can also stop at Parroquia La Virgen Milagrosa church when you’re there.
Larcomar - This is the major open air shopping center in Lima, overlooking the coast. It’s nicely done, and I like the cafes overlooking the water.
Puku Puku Café Larco - I started with an Americano - 7.50 PEN ($2.27), and it was wonderful. I like how they use local Peruvian coffee. Then Sebastian offered to make us a Mochaccino. That was very nice of him, and it was delicious, my first time to have a mochaccino. Thank you Sebastian!
Wong Supermarket - Finally, right in the heart of Miraflores, across the street from Kennedy Park is Wong Supermarket - a gourmet, kind of expensive, but very nice supermarket.
Lima is an amazing city to travel to or to live in, and Miraflores is a great area of the city to base yourself in.

I spent a month living in Miraflores for work. I miss all the food. The corn nuts are amazing - as is all the corn. So different from what we get here in the U.S. But the Ceviche was the best; I had it everyday Also, I stayed right by Kennedy park. It was a great place to hang out. There would always be stands and vendors set up all around. There was also a flower festival one weekend. Such a great city.

Villa el Salvador: a young place, of the 80's of descendants of the migration of the Peruvians from the places of the sierra in their majority along with Peruvians from all parts of Peru, it has poverty in sight along with a growing middle class, San Isidro: A powerful area, with a majority of the upper class, a few of the middle class. In the 3 zones 3 different Lima are seen, Lima has 43 districts that represent 43 Lima realities

I'm Peruvian-Canadian and damm! I set my goal to retire and move to Peru :) it is so beautiful down there! Not only Lima but Arequipa city is also a stunning city! The food and the landscapes in Peru are just breathtaking :)
Oh my god, i spend some time in Miraflores 10 years ago. I miss it it so much, the mall near the sea was awesome, i used to drink fresh juice of watermelon and pomegranate all the time to cure my hangovers. You need to try it Mark.

@Rolman80 80 It all depends who cooks it.😀😀😀 I can honestly say that in DR there is no such a "gastromy culture" like the ones in Peru, Mexico or Thailand. There is no so much abubdance of foods. And people do not share their food as these other do. However, there are some memorable dishes like "Mangu". Extremely good stuff like "Morir-sognando", the "Dominican cake" or "Abichuelas con Dulce"... Just to mention a few...

I never ever taught Peru will have such abundance of varieties of fruits. The city of Lima is also more beautiful and diverse than I had imagine. The variety of food is even more mind blowing!!!

I have been to Lima many times and always used to stay in Miraflores - right opposite Larcomar. Sweet memories in this video. Never been to Océano Azul but the ceviche and the chicharrones and the chaufa look magnificent! I am so happy you went to Perú.

I lived near Wong at Benavides during my 4 month internship in Miraflores! The city was amazing! Loved every second of it!

I'm. Serbian ho lives in Peru for 22 years I also recommend to you to go and visit my country Serbia has a some of the greatest food an the Balkan peninsula and it's very good for tourists and it's really cheap so it's win win for everybody

I visit Peru every year . You have to check out Barra Chalaca really close to Miraflores in San Isidro. One of the best ceviches ever and try their ‘Copa’. Amazing

Es curioso. Cuando el mozo viene a preguntarme cómo quiero el ceviche y en qué punto de ''Picante'', suelo decirle: ''Échele el doble de lo que el cocinero considere ''Bien picante''. Cuando pruebas el primer bocado, ya no hay vuelta atrás, es como si fuera tu boleto para el paraiso.

They just opened up a Japanese/Peruvian restaurant here in Toronto...they also have locations in London, Miami and a pop up in St. Tropez...I have yet to try out the restaurant but it's funny that you mentioned it BC the restaurant popped up in IG feed not too long ago!

I been wondering if there was any footage about this side of Lima - that coffee place would be a daily for me if I had to stay there. The air looked so clear, not like most smogged up cities around South America. Oh and depending on the hour, there is definitely mass at the catholic church. Nice to see the inside of the cathedral with all the typical South American architecture.

I live in a small town in Central Florida..we've had a Peruvian restaurant for about 1 year and it is GREAT....all the fish dishes
I bought a house near el malecon in Miraflores, it has a spectacular panoramic view overlooking the Pacific Ocean i’ve never seen before near that cliff in the video. Best food in Latin America hands down. The Miraflores city has a perfect year-round temp, even more comfortable than the Mediterranean. It’s very affluent and relatively affordable (to a Canadian); think 70% off everything at premium quality supermarkets, safe and full of tourists and the best part is most locals speak English well which makes it an ideal retirement/vacation location. Surprisingly it’s not as popular as other expat cities that have far less to offer but I get the feeling that’s going to change soon.
