@@disha9972 Usually plain white tops go with most of the skirts. But you can also pair the skirts with matching or contrasting coloured (preferably plain and not very loose) tops. You wouldn't want the length of the tops to be too long as that will look awkward (you can tuck the top in if it's too long). In essence the top should overlap the skirt by around one to two inches if not tuck it in. You can try styling short kurtas with the skirt but I don't have much to say about that since I've never paired any of my kurtas with my skirts. Hope this helps!!

I wore long skirt to my 12th class (unofficial) class at school. Everyone loved it, some teacher even praised my look on that day. I was surely over dressed in comparison to others but I think it looked really good. (It was a day before my birthday and that's why I wore it. And I had (unofficial) classes because our summer holidays were extended due to extreme heat and exams dates were pretty close compared to past years)
I also wore indian on the first day of college...I saw people wearing western..but i wanted to wear Indian..my hairs were braided the indian style..i wanted to apply bindi too..but maa said u look pretty even without it..even i was scared to look overdone..but actually i was looking simply pretty..hehe😄
