I went in 1994 and haven’t been back! It’s a nice park. Those who are native to Ohio can be proud. Cedar Point is one of the most amazing amusement parks in the world. When I went in 1994, RAPTOR was the newest coaster. Did I ride it? You bet your sweet ass that I did. Nice coaster! Peace.
@Maurice Jenkins II Just turned 45 myself my friend. It's amazing how much quicker the years go by as you get older. It seems for me my perception shifts every 10 years. It hit me again at the age of 43. Oh.....and happy b-day!
@Maurice Jenkins II Yw.....and I know what you mean. I was fortunate enough to have a father with a video camera way back in the early 80's who was able to document much of my life. In fact there was a video tape of us at Cedar in 1982 I believe where he was filming his family and everyone walking by us would wave at his video camera as if he were the news!😂😂😂 Video taping wasn't a common thing back then.
Omg!!! Thank you so much for posting this! Brings back so many memories! My adolescence was a very dark time in my life. You,Trace,& your mom was 1 of the few highlights. Thank you 😌
Thank you so much! I was looking for my 10-year-old self throughout the video. This brought back so many memories of practically growing up at CP. I'm from Norwalk so we went at least 3 times a week. :)
This was when CP was at its cleanest and most beautiful. Since the RC wars started in the mid to late 90's, and they became Cedar Fair, the attention to detail in the park has waned. It's still the best park in the US, but it ain't like it used to be.....but then again, nothing is.
"Oncoming riders, please welcome to magnum XL-200, the world's tallest, fastest and steepest roller coaster." Wow, that gave me chills thinking about it!
Man I loved this video. Brings back a lot of great memories. 1990 was my senior year of high school and I went to CP multiple times that year. Great video Thanks for posting
Did y'all see the line for Blue Streak!!?? Don't get me wrong, I love that ride... been riding it since the early 90's (93). But now a days you can just walk right up to the platform, they might not even have a full train.
I worked at Cedar Point in 1990. The Blue Streak was so popular at night that they had Midway sweperettes close the line nightly!! Everyone wanted to ride the Blue Streak at night. I ran Demon Drop and people also wanted one last ride before leaving the park!!
I can definitely see why it is a popular ride. Great course layout that still holds up today, right on the water. I remember people telling stories about putting a quarter on their knee and watching it float as the demon dropped lol. @@timothykaczmarek5871
I remember when I was a little kid I went to the arcade just before the park closed and one of the skee ball machines was broken and let me play round after round for free. It was a fun way to end a great day at cedar point!
Thank you so much for posting this. I missed out going to Cedar Point in 1990 with my Boy Scout troop because we went on a stupid, lame, boring, uneventful family trip to Michigan instead.
Does anyone remember a kiddie type ropes course at cedar point back in the day? I have vague memories of crawling through it, and I could’ve sworn it was at cedar point, but can’t remember where it was located. Maybe by disaster transport, or where they had the dinosaurs? And the sky slide! I miss that thing.
Always wonder if it's whirlpool employee day and if I'm there with my family. There all gone now and I don't have many memories of them back then. Thank you for uploading ❤
Disaster Transport was new that year, they enclosed the 1985 Avalanche Run bobsled coaster and gave it a space theme. Now, it's gone. I rode it in June 1995, my only time at Cedar Point and didn't like it because of the coaster part. I don't ride coasters or fast rides because they make me feel sick or dizzy. I rode Pirate Ride several times and it was closed after 1996. The building is now used as a Boo Hill funhouse in the fall. I live near Dorney Park in PA where the Demon Drop is now. And Cedar Fair merged with Six Flags on July 1 and is now Six Flags Entertainment.
I miss being a kid in the 80s and 90s. Thanks for posting this look back at when life was simpler.
No one glued to their cell phones
Yes,the simple days when school children were all trained to hide under their desks in case the Soviet Union launched nuclear weapons at us.
We had real leadership, not like now...
Those were great days at the Amazement park.
Wow! I remember when my family went in 1990. We couldn't believe how tall the Magnum was! It looked so small in 2020.
Yea I remember that it looked so tall crazy

Wasn't that taken out with the pirate ride and mill rapids over
@@thomaskemer8109 - No, Raptor is still there! People love it! Peace.
Thank you for posting this. I miss the sky slide as a kid!!
Also this video footage is a look at what life was like before INTERNET & MAINSTREAM took over 😁
@Maurice Jenkins II Soooo MUCH BETTER!

@@DopeAsThePope1 My dad still has his old Betamax Camcorder. Not sure when the last time it was used!

I nice to see that everyone is just fine WITHOUT A DAM CELLPHONE
I watched for 20 minutes, looking for myself, before I realized I might not have been there that day. Good memories

Blue streak gets a pretty decent line, walk ons aren’t too common.
depends on when ya go. IMO it's still a great ride, but it is a slow moving line.

Great videoing and editing for 1990. Excellent work!👌

Thank you for this and the memories! I probably was there around the same time, and would've have just finished my freshman year of high school.

I was 28 days from my eleventh birthday and looked not unlike red shirt boy. 🤙 thanks for the memories

That was at Kid Arthur's Court where the Funhouse was. This was after they got rid of that.
I forgot the Gemini is actually a pretty fun ride. I used to bag on the small rides I was a dare Angel and had to get on the tall ones
Seeing a row of pay phones really transported me back to a much different word. Wow

My first time here. Great memories!
I love how the automatic response when hearing the Space Spiral's height was, "We're 80 feet higher than the Magnum!" Lol
Everything was better in 1990. I wanna go back, just like Eddie Money wanted to.

Crazy to think that Corkscrew in this video was newer than Maverick is now.
The first girl is SO early 90's! I love it!
Anyone notice 3 trains on the Corkscrew? Red, White, and Blue trains, just like in 1976!
I did see that. They changed them a few years ago to match the bi-centennial
Can you imagine dropping the current park into 1990?
When America was fun!
This is what waiting in lines for hours and boredom looked like. 0:39
I was only one when this was viedo taped
what a relic
I miss the CP of yore. So much more fun.
Sweet maybe I'll see me when I was 11
I missed it
I feel young
The family telling Dad to stop filming 🤣🤣 Over his dead body
