I didnt expect this to be one of the coolest albums i listened to with the stream. It was unassuming and just awesome to learn about the band. I love the stream for albums like this.
My interpretation of "Good Morning, Captain" is basically the ghost of the protagonist throughout the album (having offed himself in "Washer...", and "For Dinner" just being the rest of the world shuffling on without him or noticing he's even gone) looking back at his innocent, younger self, with that younger version of him being utterly terrified at what he would eventually become.
I've always recognized how "good" this album is, but honestly the only song I enjoy is Washer. Just can't handle the slam poetry-esque flat talking on every other song, at least in Washer it sounds like there was some semblance of singing attempted.
I totally get you, had the exact same problem with this album at first few listens. After that it just clicked. Sometimes we are just allergic to a particular artistic choice in a piece and we either get over it or just keep disliking something we know is otherwise brilliant.

Try Godspeed You! Black Emperor
The drums on this album.. both the mixing and the grooves 🤌 Washer is my favorite.

Thank you so much for uploading this, I’ve watched this reaction like 4 times already
If Don Aman is incel music, I suppose any piece of art from the perspective of a socially anxious loner is incel
not every socially anxious loner is an incel, but every incel is a socially anxious loner... don aman is the anthem for the former :)
do you have his full album reaction to Science Fiction by Brand New? I missed the stream 😭

@@adorno_gang37 yea the end was fine but the rest still just sounds like he's reading aloud.
