Tezz, glad you liked / appreciated the left field song selection. Slint is a very unique and influential band. Like you said, 'there's a lot going on here'. They wrote this song when they were like... 19-20-21 years old? Broke up before the album came out. /J-Ham
Saw these guys on what would be their last tour. Incredible musicians, such a strange and unique concept for a band. Legends. The drummer was their composer and is a literal musical savant.
I met Brian McMahon, the singer from Slint, in a bar in Louisville and he was friendly if not a little awkward. I couldn’t stop thinking the whole time though that I was talking to the I MISS YOU guy…
Some perspective. This earth shattering album was written in 1991 by some teenagers from Kentucky and 32 years later (god I’m getting old) it’s still ahead of its time!!!
I seriously listen to this entire album quite often and it’s like mentally my brain still builds the suspense for three major parts on the album. The opening song Breadcrunb trail. Then the climactic part of Washer. And then the very last vocals on this song. Like I imagine other fans can also say that they listen to the entire album even if they only wanna hear one song - cause the entire album is just a massive buildup for the ending of the last song. And when he yells that last “miss yooouuuuuuuuuhhhhh” It almost feels like a massive relief or a massive weight is lifted from your shoulders. Amazing album.
it says a lot about your music palate and openness that you’re able to enjoy something this unique and bleak on first listen. this is one of my favourite songs ever from one of my favourite albums ever and even i was put off at first. great video ❤️
Glad you liked this man. You gotta check out Black Country New Road. They call themselves the Second Best Slint tribute band, but are really a jaw dropping and distinctly different soundscape than Slint, especially if you found this style interesting, they are a newer band, maybe start with Sunglasses( album version) , or Athens, France. Just subbed 🔥
This inspired me to give this album another shot 👍🏽 I tried listening years ago and didn't get into it beyond the song Breadcrumb Trail. Will be listening again soon!
it makes you turn up the volume more so you can try to hear what he's saying, but it makes the music really blast when you have it loud. plus paying attention to decipher what he's saying really makes you focus on the music and nothing else
sonic youth wasn’t doing this though, like at all really. sonic youth were a great band too, but this style is unique from everything as well as sonic youth

Spiderland, the album this track is from, is an absolute masterpiece.
I don't think I've ever listened to one song from this album by itself; It's always been full album listens all the way through.
Aye, sometimes I think "I'll just listen to "For Dinner" and that's it".
Nope, it's always all six courses.
One of the greatest albums in alt rock history. Extremely influential

Britt Walford is a champion for the drummers and the weird.
Any recommendations similar to slint?

Dude, thx so much for checking this out. This is one of my most memorable first listens ever, and honestly changed my life

This band... this drummer... This song... Music genres were born out of this. (Great commentary btw)

I was lucky enough to be the right age when this was released on vinyl in 1991. Thanx for reviewing Teez.
Hahah love how this guy writes notes. Good shit brother keep it up love how you really take your time to listen to such a weird but great song.

single version was better ngl
The founder of this band also plays some drums on the Breeders album Pod ✌

Give the song Washer on the album a listen. It’s my favorite track
@@DrFonzo That's a great song!! The whole album is great. I'm glad I gave it another shot after all this time.
I love this so much!! This is a heavy vibe. It's on the same soundtrack as that Lo Down song. 💚
Dear Slint: I MISS YOU!

Walford. Damn. 🔥
One of those songs that makes me sweat. Great stuff
There's a song called Big Orange Moonrise bt a band called Toothpick Elbow that I think all of y'all would dig too.
Check out Ratatat - seventeen years or Pinback - non photo blue. Also, thanks for taking on so many genres! Fun!
Ooh, both excellent suggestions!

P.S.... I think I got 'em all.... gonna check your page to be sure!!! hehe!! ;)
Not sure if it was their intent, but the singers' mic is too low, hard to make out all of what he's saying 🙁
Agreed, I think headphones helped me a lot. Regardless, I didn’t know these guys before this moment and I liked the vibe.
It's supposed to sound muffled and claustrophobic like the character in the song
It’s intentional

Not sure why everybody thinks slint was doing something different? Sonic youth was doing this first

@@calp73 have you heard their style of music? Have you heard the early records?
@@Daniel-yt6scit’s a different thing. Completely different context, Slint came from a relatively small Hardcore punk scene in louisville.
