I have the cheaper black version. WOW! It is an amazing bible. Crazy how good Thomas Nelson bibles are. I am mostly a NASB guy. But this Bible and the NKJV, Large Print Verse-by-Verse Reference Bible, Maclaren Series I have. I read them more now. Because these two are soo beautiful and the font layout blows away all my NASB Bibles..
I have the “deluxe, black, indexed, non leather” version. $25.00 ! With hubs! It’s my go to, easy to carry ,light weight, looks and feels just like leather. Great for gifts! Love the verse by verse! Thx Tim! 👍❤️🙏🏻
Thanks for another great review, Tim! That NKJV is the one I've been looking for, for my son. He has the VBV Maclaren (in leathersoft) but doesn't like that the notes and references are all in the footer, plus he'd like his "preacher" be abit smaller. This one is perfect. Happy Birthday, son! Very cool that you included the NRSV and NIV for comparison, too. Thanks again, brother!
Wow, today I had just received the Thomas Nelson NKJV in brown goatskin leather, end of verse text and thumb indexed also, and then your video came on tonight. I thought i would treat myself to a leather bible and am overjoyed with it, everything that i require, it took me a lot of searching especially end of verse and thumb indexed. 🙏😃
I have the indexed version too. End of verse + indexed is the way to go for navigating around references. Plus, the font size and layout is absolutely perfect. This bible is my new "the one"
@@LostHorizon_ one thing I would have liked to see in it is a bit of spare paper at the back because I like writing notes, but apart from that I would give it 10 out of 10
Thank you for this. Your descriptions and opinions are always thoughtful and respectful of all versions. I'm a vbv NKJV fan but the runner up is the RSV. Well done, Tim!
Thanks for this review, Tim. As always, very accurately and honestly presented. Just purchased one of these. I’m very well pleased with it. Good quality, love the personal size. It’s about as big as I would like for a personal size Bible, but given that it’s verse by verse, has a 10.5 font size, some references, a substantial concordance and maps, it really couldn’t be any smaller. I particularly love the bold font, and generous line spacing, reads like a full size Bible, yet more portable. And it’s affordable. I’m an NKJV guy, and for me it touches all the bases. It’s exactly as you described. Thanks again
The Deluxe Leathersoft NKJV personal is my church carry Bible. My wife commented this past Sunday on how nice the large print is. The premium looks very nice as well!
It would be perfect for me, if it was at least $125.00 cheaper! I'm too old to be spending a lot of money on a Bible that I have no one to pass it down to. No children, just me, so I would love to have this one, even in a hard cover.
I believe the current price on Amazon is very good, if you are able to purchase through them. You can use the link in the video description to see the price and purchase there.
I have an NKJV rustish brown leathersoft w/a leaf-like design on the left side of the cover & spine. I love how the spine looks. It's an Encountering God Study Bible w/awesome textblocks w/notes in them titled Encounter Note for certain verses. It also has some Word Study boxes, Historical Encounter boxes as well as Character Study boxes. It has cross-references in the center column & additional notes at the bottom. It comes w/2 nice ribbons a black one & an aqua bluish one. I love this Bible. The pages feel very nice. It has 9 point comfort font which is fine w/my aging eyes. The words of Christ are in red. It's verse by verse...my favorite. It is nicely laid out 2 column w/center cross-references as I said. In the back are glossy maps, Biblical timeline, Harmony of the Gospels, a Read Your Bible in a Year month by month boxes in the back, Prophecies & Fulfillments, Index to Special Features like the Character study boxes & a Concordance! It is packed w/great features for a study Bible & it's not huge...a real bonus. In the front it has a forward by Henry Blackaby one of the authors. There's an About the Encountering God Study Bible explanation in front as well as several pages on how to study the Bible. And there are excellent book introductions. I think I paid like $56 on Amazon. It's now listed for $48.02. It is well worth the price for all you get. Look up Encountering God Study Bible. I love the look, feel & size of this Bible. Tim...you might want to do a review of this wonderful Thomas Nelson NKJV non-premium affordable study Bible. 😊
Dat Comfort Print tho’ 👌 Picked up a Premier collection NKJV Large print VbV reference for $60 at Christmas just gone from Christian book. Absolute bargain!😊
The link provided is for the end of verse reference Bible. Is there anyway to provide the link for this particular Bible reviewed (without the references at the end)
Tim, why does Thomas Nelson not list this bible on their site for premier collection bibles? I see the verse by verse, single column, etc., but this one is not listed. Does Thomas Nelson still make this Bible?
I made the choice quite a while back, that I will never buy another Bible that is printed in China, no matter how well it's made or what features it has.
Has anyone else that has gotten a Bible with the brown goatskin from Thomas Nelson experienced a lot of leather flaking on the spine? I definitely use my Bible but I’ve never experienced this until I got a Bible bound with this particular leather. Is that normal with them?
The Bible “shifts” a tad when it’s on a table or desk. A small shift to the left or the right a tad pulls the text out of the gutter a bit. Also any new premium bible (or any sewn book) should be properly broken in first which helps slightly open up the gutter. It’s not as bad in person as it looks here. I have it.
@@davegarciaofficial i have a few bibles, nothing beats the thompson chain. Only thing in the gutter is references on those. They actual text is flat as a pancake.
I am from Germany and don't understand why so much American bibles have the words of Christ in red. It is just NOT nice. Only very few German bibles have that.
I actually prefer red letter Bibles, and wouldn't buy any other type, but it has to be subtle red not too bright. Some bibles now do blue letter again not garish.

I have the same one..I end up using it more the the premiers I have..
I have both the NIV and the NKJV that Tim is reviewing. Both are high quality and well worth the money. Great job Tim.
I just got this exact Bible rebound by SDG Rebinds. It is my main Bible for study and preaching. Absolutely love this Bible.
That's great!
I bought the NKJV six months ago and highly recommend it. My one regret ids the abridged preface instead of a unabridged. Thanks
I have the NIV, NKJV, NRSV and just ordered the KJV. I love the bibles you can't beat the price.
Great review. I like the NRSV color scheme. Thanks, Tim.🙏🏻

Please, everybody flood Zondervan asking them to make the NRSV Updated Edition exactly like this Purple bible.
🙏🏻🥺

Nice review Tim, thank you. The speckled edging on the NRSV was cool to see, I have never seen edging like that on a Bible before!

I own 2 of these! My favorite NKJV is the center column reference bible with the red highlights.
Very informative! Keep up the good work.

I am only aware of this version that has the end of verse references, as shown in this video.
the Bible has to. be broken in. Works like a charm!
Is there overcast stitching in the back? I’m new to premium bibles and can’t find it in my green goatskin one.
I think this one only has overcast stitching in the front

I made the choice quite a while back, that I will never buy another Bible that is printed in China, no matter how well it's made or what features it has.
Maybe you need to stop using the technology that came from China. Or anything that’s from China besides the Bibles..
Ignorance is bliss.🙏🏼🇺🇸

I would like to have one can you send me one
How it's possible "european paper" if was printed in China...?😅
The 2K Denmark text block design files and the European paper are sent to China where they are then printed and bound.
Theres just too much text in the gutter.

I don't like the red print either. All the scripture is meaningful and pertinent.
Wish Thomas Nelson knew how many of us despise red letter text. They'd sell more bibles.
Personal preference
I actually prefer red letter Bibles, and wouldn't buy any other type, but it has to be subtle red not too bright.

@@logiciskey7 there’s a Bible that even has red letter in the O.T.
I think it’s the sword Bible… might be wrong. But it’s only in KJV.
