    Hey Rae! I'm not a porosity person either. Some people get VERY tough behind these screens. It's incredible some of the comments we receive. Hair is a very personal experience, regardless of if it looks similar or not.

    Sorry you felt like you had to address this. You’re really just here as a great guiding spirit. Most of the time I just enjoy you and how relatable you are. Sometimes I purchase products you use. Sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I use your techniques. Sometimes I don’t. Either way I love your channel.

      Hi Monica! Thank you for the kind words. I wanted to share so I could use this as a teaching moment, especially because a lot of other people have asked that same question. So, I thought I would just address the topic in a video that can reach the masses instead of trying to address each person individually. This way, if someone asks again, I can just refer them to this video and hope it helps them. I appreciate you tuning in and supporting the channel.💛

    Good Morning! Sometimes people ask questions in the comment to troll and start confusion. I love your content!

    • @NaturalRaeRae

      Hey Karla! Yep, some people want to troll, but there are some who really think that if we have the same porosity, the products should work the same. With that in mind, I wanted to do this video and hope it helps somebody. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts.💛

    Hi Rae, I totally agree with this video. Also, what people need to realize is that it is not all about the products or porosity. How you eat and not drinking enough water also plays a role in how our hair performs. You are absolutely right in saying, "learn your own hair". I also agree with the other comments. Its hair. Keep letting your light shine, you're doing awesome 🙏🏾👍🏾🙌🏾😊

      Thank you! Yes, how we take care of our bodies plays a part in our hair health, as well. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts.💛

    When I started my natural hair journey, figuring out porosity was the one quest I abandoned because there many things that were more pertinent for me to be successful. For me, between watching UA-camers and reading the comments I was able to piece together a regimen that worked. About 90-95% of the brands and products that I used with this method worked for me. The techniques and products that employ are a unique mix of this feedback and my own thoughts about what to do. This journey of discovery and synthesis has been satisfying.

    • @NaturalRaeRae

      Thanks for sharing this. I agree, it's about watching, listening, trying and keeping what works and leaving what doesn't. Everyone's journey is unique to them and finding the right techniques and regimen for their hair is key. I think porosity was important to me at the time I started because I was doing the curly girl method, plus loc/lco and those things together can wreak havoc on low porosity hair (i.e. build up, flakes, dryness). So once I learned my porosity, I knew that I needed to change the other things and was able to get better results and my hair has thrived since. Thanks for tuning in sharing what has helped you.💛

    The way I clicked on this to see what you had to say...😊
    Some people are just ready to pounce no matter what you say. Don't let her behavior bother you.
    I agree learn your hair. Learning your porosity is a jumping point, and you can work from there to learn what works best for your hair.

    I totally agree with this video. It's just hair and they should be doing there own research. I have high porosity hair but if I don't cleanse my hair good it will act like I have low porosity. Kind and professional, love it!

    Hi Rae, you have a beautiful spirit and I know you're genuine (even though the camera). I love the fact you've decided to share your knowledge with us. Personally, I have successfully learned my hair because of your honesty and information. However, I never thought about my porosity I just use what I feel my hair likes LOL. Now, I still want to come and get my hair done cosmetologist or not 🤣🤣 Love you my sister be blessed ❤️ 🙏🏽🥰

    Wow. I’ve been away for awhile, and have to catch up on your videos. I’m shocked you had to explain this. When it comes to purchasing something you use, I always go by ingredients, and know that way if it’s going to work for my hair or not, plus I avoid toxic and bad ingredients. Keep doing what you’re doing, and don’t let people get to you.

    • @NaturalRaeRae
      @NaturalRaeRae  20 днів тому +1

      Welcome back! I'm not shocked because there are a lot of people who are newly natural and they think whatever works for one is going to work for another. So I was happy to try to explain that the same porosity (or think the same) doesn't mean the same products will work. Not everyone takes the time to check ingredients or learn their hair, so I'm glad that you do. Thanks for tuning in and Happy Holidays!💛

      I wasn't bothered, but it made we realize that people need to understand that their hair is unique and what works for me, may not work for them...same porosity or not. Thanks for tuning in, and yes, life is too short to sweat the small stuff. 💛

    Porosity and climate matters. Many filter, subscribe, and support sites based on similarities. Which is why I have my notification on for your channel and several others vs. a high porosity or even a low porosity site pushing use of heavy grease.

    • @NaturalRaeRae
      @NaturalRaeRae  23 дні тому +2

      I agree with you. I think watching people with similaries help, but I wanted to stress that even though some people have similarites, people still need to know their own hair and what works for them. I say that because I also get people in the comments saying, "you lied, I tried xyz that you recommended and it didn't work." 🤦🏽‍♀️So, there are some that just want to use any and everything I use and not really get to know their hair. Can't win for losing.😂🤣😂 I appreciate you watching and sharing your perspective.💛

    Your hair is gorgeous as always.
    Know your hair type is very important in selecting products. Today I look at the ingredients. Certain ingredients keep moisture in my high porosity hair longer than others. Please don't change your content. Some people are just difficult due to their life. So let stuff roll off your back and keep it moving.

    • @NaturalRaeRae
      @NaturalRaeRae  23 дні тому

      Thank you! Yep, I think knowing your hair helps in product selection; it has definitely helped me, that's why I did this video. I don't plan on changing my content, but sometimes I need to clarify questions that I get in the comments, especially when it is a recurring question. I let most things roll, but this one was a teachable moment. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts.💛

    I think if you have a good hair stylus/dresser if you are they client regularly they will tell you everything you need know about your hair. and what products is good for it just my opinion.

    • @NaturalRaeRae
      @NaturalRaeRae  23 дні тому +1

      Yes, I agree that a good stylist can be a great resource. However, I still feel it is up to us to learn our hair and know what it needs, just in case we have to do our hair ourselves (i.e. the stylist moves, can no longer afford a stylist, etc.). Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your perspective.💛

    🤦🏽‍♀️ really it’s just hair all this confusion is because people take what people say the wrong way. It would be different if you could hear someone’s actual tone of voice or even see their actual true facial expressions 😂 this is crazy! And it’s not that serious ladies and gentlemen do what works for your hair and please stop running to you tube for answers for the hair that is on your head that god gave you ❤ I’m shook it had to go this far but great video keep up the great work you do and thank you for diving into details on the porosity subject.

      Yeah, actually hearing something vs. reading it can make a difference in how the conversation progresses. That's why I hate texting, I prefer picking up the phone and calling.😂 I do think that UA-cam makes us a little lazy and dependent on other people when it comes to learning our hair. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
