Well made boots, as all Hondo boots. Personally I am still not a fan of dark coloured boots and white stitching, but with a good bit of wearing I am sure they won't stay white too long.
Alright I’ve never understood this the cowboys in the “good old days” wore boots with leather soles but it was fine but now everyone talks about how you should never get the soles in any water or mud.
My parents sold their horses when I was around 5 so I never had to take care of any horse which is why I always forget how much work it is to properly take care of them. I'm not a big fan of square toe boots anymore, so I'll refrain from entering the contest this time. I definitely need to get myself a pair of Hondo boots for sure! Good luck to everyone who enters and I hope to be there for the live stream to hangout!
Boot trees are a must if you are going to get your boots wet! Here in desert climates if you go from wet to dry sometimes the leather shrinks. Thanks for the video!
Just ordered a oair of these and used your discout code. Theyll be here in 2 days and i couldnt be more excited. Ive hated swuare toes, but hondo made these look so good. And your review really sold it for me. Thank you
Love to see a updated 3 year review. See how they are holding up. Something cool would be for Hondo to put out a Norwegian welt boot for 98% waterproof...
Great Boots. I wear the hondos for 12 hours straight comfortable while I'm working at my restaurant. P.S. You're personally responsible for my Collection of 6 pairs of boots. HONDO, LUCHESSE, CORRAL, RUJO ×2 TACOVAS, BOULET pieced ostrich are pre ordered. And to top it off Chisos boots are in the near future. Live your show. Great job!
Great boots. I was given a pair as a gift way way back in 1984, I was a young teenager. They didn’t fit well and consequently I didn’t wear them often. But, they were well made and looked great.
these boots look amazing that dark bull hide has such an attractive texture to it in my opinion, you just gotta love traditionally made boots and the craftsmanship that goes into each pair these look tough as nails but slick enough to wear out and about everyday, great video Jeremiah
I agree, eyes. The nubuck is so nice and bullhide is so durable. These are great boots. Can't wait for the winner of the giveaway to experience them too. Thanks for watching again buddy!
Man, Hondo makes killer boots, I definitely want to get or win 😉 me a pair of Hondo boots sometime, awesome extended test also, great video all around!!
I just bought these a couple weeks ago and love 'em. I haven't conditioned them yet, though. Should I use the distressed conditioner or suede/nubuck conditioner?
I would love to see you test out and look at a pair of Cody James boots just to get your thoughts on them from my experience they seem like well made boots that can look somewhat traditional while being a modern priced more budget boot
Great review Jeremiah ! Good to know that you can order a B width . I was kinda cringing when you were about and about in those conditions ,but then I remembered that the old cowboys would wet their boots to break them in . Sure hope to win a pair of these .
Great extended test Jeremiah. I just ordered my first pair of Hondo roughout tall tops. I look forward to comparing them to my favorite Olathe ride ready roughouts. Great video.
Hi Jeremiah, I stumbled across Hondo Boots from your videos. Your presentation got me interested and I investigated further. The end result was a purchase and I absolutely love my Hondo' boots. I have no affiliation with anyone involved here and just wanted to pass along the opinion of a boot collector. Hondo is my choice for tall top boots.
"hmm I think I'm a conditional fan of your videos :-) Hello Jeremiah, I have models of Hondo cowboy boots and these boots are really strong, good and no problems walking, good models, very very strong two-tone buffalo two-tone bull leather! I like your video, you filmed the feet well the cowboy boots! " The great thing about cowboy boots is when the boots are dirty, dusty! It's so stylish afterwards that we love cowboy boots even better, and you don't find that feeling with any other shoe! There are only cowboy boots to maintain this magic ....
Saw this video late, but have a pair of these and they are great for vet calls! Look goood, clean up well like JC said, and good break-in. Definitely a Hondo fan here. What is your opinion on Sole-savers? I have been putting them on several of my boots, figuring it is about 25% of the cost of resole at one of the few cobblers I could find here in Tucson.
Love sole savers! A very smart move. I should do them more often but I also want to see how long some leather soles last in general so I can help others. Overall though I think sole savers are great!
Jeremiah you need to check alfa western wear same boots, but the price way lower and probably the same material, because hondo boots are made in Mexico as the alfa western wear boots
All Mexican made products are not equal. Same for anywhere else. I've seen Alfa boots and they're cheap because they're made cheaply and quickly with cheap materials and no care about quality. They are boots you throw away after a few months. Hondos will last you several years and maybe your entire life depending on how you use them. The return on investment you get with Hondo will actually make them cheaper than Alfa Boots in the long run.
What a cool extended test! I really like the look of these, but I am not too big of a fan of white stitching. I’m sure after working in horse stalls all day they weren’t too white after! Interesting hack for the pull holes that are unraveling!
But I like the "Bright(White) Stitching"! I'd be completely mortified if I got them dirty. Which why I have RUBBER DUCKY Boots for the Yucky stuff! :D Thanks for highlighting this model in less that favorable circumstances. This would me more inclined to purchase a pair. ;-)
I've wanted to get some hondos but have used my boot allowance on getting my whites packers rebuilt bought them in 2000 and this will be there first rebuild hope to win a pair of hondos God bless
@jeremiahcraig, can you do a video for the best boots for ranch work day in and day out? I would love to find a buckaroo bull hide boot with a round toe and rubber sole for when I'm in my barn. HELP!
I bought this exact pair at a cavenders (instore) and i thought the vamp was a bullhide print. Bc it felt too soft and also on the inside it said "vamp cowhide" so i was confused. It looked like bullhide. So im still a little confused 😅
Bought some beautiful Hondos! Best pair I have so far, BUT! The insole is SO hard! Can someone PLEASE tell me that they will eventually soften up/break in? I’ll grin and bare it if that’s the case, but if not I’ll have to replace the insole.
Hello sir. I called carters and another dealer and to get the black 3416 they say it’s not a stock item and it’ll be a extra 150 for them to order it. Do you know a dealer where I can get the 3416 in black? That’s the boot I really want and can’t find it. Most people only carry the brown 3416. Thank you
Hey fellas, I’m interested in getting some Square cowboy boots but where I’m from, there’s not a single place where I can physically buy cowboy boots. The few cowboy boots I own when I visited Texas, they’re size 9D round toe. Should I stay with the same size or go down 1/2 a size? Any suggestions?
It amazes me how a such a well made boot…made in Texas…can’t be found in Texas. Jeremiah….do you know of ANYWHERE in Texas where I can find a retailer who has a selection of Hondo boots in their store?
@@JeremiahCraig ….I checked the Cavenders website in Lubbock a few days back and they showed a few pair in the online catalog. I go by there and they have none. 15 Cavenders locations in Texas…there are probably 10 just in the Houston area alone. It would be nice if Hondo boots would at the very least make their boots more easily obtainable by putting together an online store that has a selection that can actually be purchased from them. Better yet…take a lesson from Tecovas and open up brick and mortar locations where customers can walk in and try them on without having to worry about ordering online with the possibility of a return. I would love to have a pair of Hondo boots if they were more easily found.

You should always give the circumference of the top shaft for size with everything else. Preferably no more than 14 inches.
Well made boots, as all Hondo boots. Personally I am still not a fan of dark coloured boots and white stitching, but with a good bit of wearing I am sure they won't stay white too long.
Totally. Gotta get that double white stitching dirty!
One trip to the woods will make the stitching no longer white.
Use the brown edge dressing on the stitches for a quick fix.

Beautiful wood and design at mother's field stable , I am a big fan of wood structures that are built solid ! Nice !
I agree it was so nice there!
That was an extreme extended test
I know you couldn’t bring those boots into the house that day
No doubt! After this recording this extended test I actually had to drive 6 hours in them haha

I love new shiny things, that bright white stitching is so choice. Crushed my heart when you walked in the mud and then just kept punishing them lol

Awesome review and test of the boots! I'll definitely be on the livestreem! Had such a great time on the Halloween special!
Sweet! See you there. Thanks!
What a great video I own so many pairs of cowboy boots but don’t have a pair of Hondo’s.
They're tough to find out here east of the Mississippi! Worth looking at though for sure
Not a bug fan of pull holes, but I'd make an exception for these. I'm really diggin those boots.

Tony lama made a hybrid of leather and rubber outsole.
