      I just bought a 30% off belt. I could not find any flaws in the belt. The leather is the softest I have ever had in a belt. Not sure if that is good or bad for its longevity. Its already my favorite belt,

    Bought a pair of rough out #2s from Chisos earlier this year after seeing you cut them in half. I got a size 12.5D and probably should have went with a EE but I just committed because of their return stipulations. No regrets, after 9 months of wear they fit me like a literal glove.

    I have 2 pairs of Chisos boots. No 1 in black and No 2 in brown. I had to return the first pair to go up half a size. Then the 2nd pair I knew the size to order. My Chisos are a half size bigger than my Red Wings and a full size bigger than my Whites. Chisos customer service was great.

    I bought a brown pair pre-Covid. My only complaint was they turned my white socks a shade of red. When I shared this with Will, he sent me three pairs of black socks gratis. So then I bought a black pair of boots, too. I can attest to the quality of the boots and their customer service. As for knives, that automatic knife looks like it has a blade that’s too long to be legal here in California. That’s why my automatic knife from Kershaw has a blade that’s 1.9 inches long.

    • @cjanquart

      That tiny CA legal auto knife is jumpy and I wince every time I deploy it, main reason why I just carry my PM2 all the time.

  • @coltonwood9846

    Tried chisos once. One of the boots was a 9D and one was clearly a 9EE marked as a 9D. I returned them and was charged return shipping even though it was their mistake (and I didn't want to exchange because of the clear quality control issues).

    • @cjanquart
      @cjanquart 2 місяці тому +2

      They have a Facebook group and one of the chief complaints is the sizing and QC issues...at that price point they should be damn well close to perfect and shouldn't charge return shipping on a clearly defective product. Your and others negative experience pretty have to date prevented me from buying a pair.

    • @coltonwood9846
      @coltonwood9846 2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, the one boot that fit was nice, but I couldn't justify it for the price. Also one of the heel stacks was super crooked.

  • @heartherage
    @heartherage 2 місяці тому +1

    You need to actually look at beck boots they are made more traditional and actually use foot impressions in foam to size and make the cowboy boots according to those measurements

  • @otterconnor942
    @otterconnor942 2 місяці тому +1

    I had a pair of Cody James cowboy boots with the foam insoles. I get they're not as nice as these, but all foam insoles kinda suck. They are swampy, smelly, and crumbly.

    Is a "barefoot style" western boot possible? I understand that on cowboy boots/riding boots, the narrow toe is to easily fit into the stirrup, and the heel is so your foot doesn't go through. Could a western style boot be made without those features and be more foot friendly? These described features surely contribute to the style and iconic nature of cowboy boots, and could a boot even be made in this style without them? I love cowboy boots, but they are simply too hard on my feet to enjoy wearing

  • @_Bryant.R
    @_Bryant.R Місяць тому

    A lot of guys wearing too wide of a boot. Get in a store and have someone fit you. Anderson Bean is great for size availability and actually made in Texas rather than just talking about Texas and being made in Mexico. 👍

    I was left very disappointed wirh Chisos. I had to return two pairs of the #2s. I got a refund, but QC is clearly an issue for them. The second pair i ordered was way worse than the first, wirh sloppy paint (burnishing?) and a super loose fit on one fit that would have lead to a broken ankle. I couldnt believe it made it in the box past QC.

    If you're wanna position yourself as a high-end bootmaker, then you need to offer more than just D and EE sizes. Any legitimate bootmaker knows and does this. Western boot fit can be very finicky, and a lot of folks find they need to order a size longer than usual, but in a narrower B width. I'm not saying Chisos boots aren't high quality. but if you want folks to pay those kinds of prices, then they need to allow for the opportunity to achieve an optimal fit.

    They’re not made in Texas. They’re made in Mexico. They’re advertising a Mexican made boot like it’s Texan. The brand is but not the boot. This boot is well made, looks great, but it’s way overpriced for regular cowhide.
