I have had the LiteFighter1 for 18 months and used it a few times. I haven’t had any issues with it. I don’t have the ground sheet or the outer carrying bag, that was extra accessories when I purchased the tent. It’s a bit on the heavy side compared to civilian light weight tents but probably more durable. 😊

I got the lite fighter 1 last year from my local Army Navy store for $179.00. It was after I watched another reviewer and his impression of it. It did not come with the MOLLE bag yours came in. Just the stuff sack. I have the ICS that you mention in this video (bought after your video on it), the TCOP and the Marine Two Man (both of which are made by Eureka). The Lite Fighter is definitely lighter and in my opinion is made as is for warm weather applications. I know there is a winterization kit that can be purchased to make it warmer for cold weather. For here in South Alabama with the humidity it works very well with all the mesh but for cooler weather I like the TCOP and. ICS. Thanks for the review Randall.

Excellent review. I have the Litefighter 2, and it's just a roomier version of this one. Only thing I would add is that the pocket you referenced for holding your phone was originally designed as a pocket for the door mesh. You can unzip it completely and stuff it in that pocket. Works really well!

I got mine less than a month ago from Litefighter. It wasn't cheap 345.00 ( now they're 399.00) because others out there were used. I plan on hitting the Woods by Thanksgiving but I believe it will work for what I need.

Got one last year along with the winter insert. The insert was missing a connecting tab that I didn't notice until the week I was going sub-zero camping. It performed ok without it. I guess quality control isnt great so look over your equipment well & set it up before going camping. Im not surprised the shock cord fell off yours. Mine performed well in the snow.

Hey Randall, cool video as always. I bought this tent as well as the 4 season liner. It’s a quality piece of kit. The only problem is it’s too small. I’m 6’5” 240 pounds. The 84” length is an outside dimension not inside. I’d say this tent is ok for people under 6’2”. If anyone wants to buy this tent and the cold weather liner I have it brand new and I’ll make you a deal. Thanks for the video Randall. Love watching your stuff.

To be honest! I've been looking at getting this tent for a long time and really like its versatility, but after a few years assessing it to the point where I'm up to getting one phase? I'm still sitting on the fence with this. I see the quality benefits, I see the mobility benefits, and I know our Joe's are less than likely using them, but have access to use them?? but I really think that the craze is really just a fade, and I have to say a big thank you to Grunt Proof for doing this video as I think I've finally have made a decision and that is not too get one finally.
I have used as Grunt Proof for years the ICS System in exercises as well as in general family and buddy camping situations and are happy with this, the ICS is going strong still and feels good to use. So I don't think that there would be at this stage much benefit to using the Litefighter for me until the ICS tells me it would like to retire from service. Thanks again Randal your a real patriot and fantastic American. Keep the videos rolling brother. Andrew.

Good unboxing and I'm looking forward to the gruntproof. I own an older single door version of this tent. It has always done a good job as far as tents go. I've been using only the nest inner tent and pole set under my tarp for the last few years and that works awesome. The double door and double vestibule looks like a great improvement. The winter kit they sell seems like a winner as well but I think I would prefer just the "hasty hooch" with a stove jack and small wood stove for the winter but that leans away from the tactical nature of the tent.

Had 2 of these. One with the 4 season add on. Sold both ONLY because I needed more space. I’m 6’ 2”, 250# and 62 years old. So I waited most of this year to get my hands on the 2 person version + the 4 season upgrade. Been sleeping out out in it for the last two weeks. Will try the 4 season attachment once I need it. Since I’m using my mss and an R5 pad, might not even be necessary. Great so far.

Thanks for thrashing the zips, I bought a $300Aus bivy and the zips snag and now ones broken right out of the box. The litefighter is a super expensive tent, it really does need to be bulletproof at that cost and at 2kg its not ultralight or does it pack small. Seems legit, I like the extra loops and pockets etc

I have seen a review of it on outdoor gear and review, the best feature of his tent you have not mentioned. You can get a third component to this tent, which is a fabric cover that goes between the body, attaching to the body, and the fly turning it from a three season tent into a four season tent.

For giggles and grins I just slept in my backyard with this tent and the cold weather kit. Overnight lows were supposed to be down to 18 degree according to the weatherman. I'm at about 4300 feet elevation. According to my Kestrel, it was about 24 degrees in the vestibule, and 31 degrees inside the actual tent. So a 7 degree difference between inside and outside. I probably should have measured the air temp outside the vestibule, but too late now, that was 40 minutes ago. Temp will have dropped more since then, so it wouldn't be accurate an comparison. Probably not much different anyway.

I have what i guess is an amazon knock off of tgis tent. Only paid 59$ for it in od green but been an awesome tent. Plenty of room for me and my dog and a small thin air mattress that fills the entire floor. The entire system with poles and and mattress fits across the bottom compartment of my acu molle 2 ruck. That also includes a medium weight sleeping bag. Not a bad set up at all for my old beat up body.

I have a TCOP tent and while it's probably a little heavier duty than this tent, I would say this tent is more practical, portable, and versatile. Honestly this is my dream tent, possibly even the 2-man version, and I want one badly. The TCOP is also a little over 7 pounds which is ridiculous for a 1 man tent, although it's a little better for Winter camping. Great review, I might ask Santa Claus for one this year. 🎅
EDIT: I just took out my TCOP and remembered the rain fly is a blackout fly which allows you to use lights inside and remain unseen, which is another reason it weighs a little more.

Some of that looks like updates or is new, that or I didn't get everything with mine....
-Mine just came with a stuff sack but no carry sack.
-Mesh body door is side oval shaped not drop shaped.
-Body inner has no mesh storage at the dome top but yours looks to have 2 offset triangle ones.
-Mine only has one set (4) loops for hanging things and they're roughly at the 2/3 hight up the corner but your had two sets giving more hanging options.
-When I got mine the groundsheet was an add on, maybe they include it standard now.
Aside from being cramped when you gotta keep any (or all) of your shtuff inside with you its been a really good tent so far.
Let me know if bees (especially yellow jackets) are attracted to it even though its treated....mines been a friggin magnet for them. Although I've found the yellow jackets all over my county love multicam. 😑

Not sure how others feel about it but civilian lightweight tents can outclass this in many categories. I'll wait to see what your "grunt proofing" consists of but the 3F UL Lanshan 2 tent is pretty awesome with it's lightweight (less than 3lbs), durability (not sure what your tests are but mine did very well in the Texas sun and crazy strong winds and rain during a 10 day STX), it packs down incredibly small much smaller than the light fighter. The only setback is it's a trekking pole tent. You can either bring trekking poles with you or buy the tent poles you need for it. Personally I already had the trekking poles which pack down small as well so I found it much better than the light fighter. It comes in colors acceptable for military standards like coyote brown. You should test the 3F UL Lanshan 2. Oh and it's only $150 compared to the $350+ of the light fighter

I found the quickest way for me to setup a freestanding tent, is: 1) poles thru mesh tent, 2) ground sheet, 3) stakes, 4) rain cover. May not be the order to setup in a wind and rain storm tho.

I had a sewing defect on the rainfly on a new Coyote Tan Litefighter 1 tent. A velcro loop on the rainfly was in place, but they missed sewing it so it pulled out when I tried to use it." Inspector 10" sticker was on the rainfly :( . A few minutes with a needle a thread and it was fixed.
I set the tent up for a couple of weeks outdoors with some light rain and it stayed dry inside. No problems with condensation or rain.
The threads on the pole clips for the main tent body were stretching out when attached to the poles so that may be a sewing feature that fails with use or abuse. It wouldn't hurt to carry a needle and thread in the tent repair kit. ;)
I like the tent. I pieced together and repaired a couple of used and abused camo Litefighter 1 tents, one with aluminum poles and the other with fiber poles, for knocking around usage to save my new tent for when I really need it.
Anyone have any wear and tear failures with the fiber poles?

I have both a Lightfighter I and II and I didn't receive such a fancy box or letter. You must be special. It looks like you got the Lightfighter 1X kit which includes the tuff sack. My box didn't have any extra space, it was more or less a rectangle with little to no extra space for the tent to slide around. As it gets colder, you should test the 4 season upgrade.

I received my Litefighter 2 person tent earlier this year, and it came in the same box. Only difference is that mine was not in the extra stuff sack, only the interior stuff sack. It's not easy getting the two person tent back in the out sack, but can be done. I don't know if it can be done using the 4 season additional layer, which I also have but haven't used yet.

The MOLLE bag is an extra. They probably hooked you up, it's not standard. If your running the mesh inner, there isn't too much you can do to reduce weight. Personally, I cut the cot adapter off since I'll never use it. Only time I run a cot is with the family hot tent. With the molle bag you can ditch all the other smaller bags. It makes things simpler. With the loops in the mesh Inner, I assume it's for a gear loft, but I couldn't find one that would readily fit. Instead I ran a 1/8" shock cord through the loops in a square pattern, and just hung my shit off that with S clips.

Looks like a solid tent, dude. Not the lightest one man tent out there at that price range, but without having used it myself, I'd assume it'll stand up to some grunt punishment.
If you're trying to cut weight, I'd leave the footprint at home if I was carrying fly and tent. Not necessary.

Own three of them. With all the accessories For me and both the lads. Wish there wasblack out built in to the fly. Add the winter liner. Helps with freezing winds. Loves these compared to rthe ics. As the just fell apart the older they got, material sucked. Lite fighters is a bit more clever as far as the differant ways it can be deployed. But more costly. If your mobile, weight and bulks no issue. cut additional piece of typar to protect the floor and adds a floor to the vestibules. This helps with sand and saves the floor from rocks and stickers. As I’m so over sand it’s like an ex, you can’t get rid of it.

I like the design but dislike the price still. I got my Scorpion 3 for less than this tent costs. I would be worried if I had to sleep in the daytime as you did before in the review of the ICS. It might work well, but isn't a four-season tent without an add-on to it. Both the ICS and Scorpion 3 are and blacked out. Although warm in summer, the Scorpion 3 sets up fly first in the truest since of the style. Both are heavier than the LiteFighter 1, but with that comes either four season ready or both four season ready and the huge space in the Scorpion 3. (Yes, I sometimes ruck with the Scorpion 3, a Base Camp Stainless Kelly Kettle kit, and other gear needed in my V90 battleship pack.) The Scorpion 3 isn't the heaviest of materials like the ICS so it needs the ground sheet and some care.
I enjoyed this first look and await your grunt proof review. Thanks. Take Care and Stay Safe.

Yo Randall . Before you start stripping weight , I'd like to let you know . There is a LINER available to make this tent , FOUR season . It has all the mesh for warm / hot weather . I bought this tent about 2 yrs ago after seeing it on another channel . He HAS used the liner for winter , and said it is the warmest 4 season he has ever used , using the Cold weather liner . I do NOT have the COLD weather liner , so I do not know exactly how it attaches. If you want . Go over to Lukes channel " Outdoor gear review " and watch his winter video using the liner . I think it was like -20 or something that night ... gubs

Seems to be a pretty nice option, but it also seems that they’ve cut corners on the quality of attachments I mean it’s already breaking and you just took it out of the box. I would like to see it in a solid color like gray or Coyote brown or just OD green.

Mine is in transit from post in Frankfurt Germany to the states as I watch this so I will let you know how it goes. The MOLLE stuff sack and ground tarp are add ons like the cold weather kit. I hope the weight is worth it but I won't be using mine unless I have others on security because you lose your 360 view.

My fly practically ripped in half second time setting it up when freezing out at one of the 40 seams.... shite. The carbon poles sounded like old bones too.... likely would have also failed with further use.
If you don't purchase it directly from 'them' there is no warranty. I was informed if I purchase another fly from them, and it fails it would be covered. They had no comment on the design issue, the way they stitch the thing together was the root cause and if the new production addresses this.
From a durability standpoint the ics is hands down superior. If I could get a new usmc tcop, even if it was $500++ I would be all over this.
That's how much I hate the trendy teletuby colored outdoor gear.

Bro, why so long to set up? Lol, yes I watched your tarp vs tent video first. I like that you can set up the fly first to get out of the rain, but they should use clips and not velcro to secure the fly to the poles like civvy tents to. They did not think of the soldier as clips are much easier to use with gloves than Velcro. That is not how you make a bathtub floor! Quality is better on civvy tents. Try better Litefighter!

I'm tempted by these just for the weight alone but would prefer it if they could sell versions that came with cold weather inner kit and us woodland camo (I mainly camp in woods - so prefer it over MTP) right out of the box.
I went for the much heavier 7lb Eureka TCOP which I love despite the weight as it's rugged and you have the option of mesh inner sides or zipping up full material for cold weather. Also, nice and dark inside too.
I hope Litefighter can consider alternative versions. Even Marpat camo might be interesting too.
